I have nothing but great things to say about this place! Calm, cool, and comfortable. The Owner, Jane, is top notch and fabulous. She is always interested in your life and can talk to you about anything. She's an art teacher and it reflects with her decor and ambiance- warm and inviting. Art is her love and passion and it...

A pleasant alternative to the typical Victorian experience. For those mid-century modern enthusiasts, this is the place. Nice, quiet, rural setting with great vistas. The breakfasts are artistic and have a European flair. Friendly hostess with minimal intervention. Most of the house is available for relaxation. We had a great, relaxing stay.

This was such a fun place to stay. The decor is art! The landscape is beautiful and peaceful. Jane, the hostess, interesting, informative and comfortable to be with. The only thing I would suggest is some good whole grain bread with breakfast!

Southwest Wisconsin is a shockingly beautiful area of deep valleys, high hills and immaculate farms. Set atop one of these hills is Jane Kintz's B&B, the quirkily named Rembrandt & Rutabagas. Don't let the name put you off. She has created a stunning B&B, filled with marvelous furniture, antiques and unusual finds (think Marcel Breuer/Knoll/old movie theatre fixtures/FiestaWare/polished stainless steel/antique...

I was in Richland Center for a not-so-happy occasion (setting of a family member's gravestone). Staying at R&R, meeting Jane Kintz, enjoying her outstanding breakfasts, impeccable decor, luxurious and immaculate bathrooms, local knowledge, and country setting made it a much more pleasant experience. A one-of-a-kind B&B that is well worth a visit. Della room has a very comfy mattress.

We stayed here on a fall long weekend roadtrip, just for one night - wish we could have stayed longer. This is our favorite sort of B&B - a unique home with a few guest rooms, tucked away in a picturesque quiet country valley, near some interesting small towns, and pretty inexpensive. We stayed in The Playhouse Room, which was...

My husband and I traveled to this area to do some biking and hiking--not disappointed. We stayed one night at Rembrandt and Rutabagas, a very different and artsy B&B with different decor. Upper level room has a king size bed (soft mattress),windows and a private bathroom. The main floor where I stayed also had a private bathroom available through a...

I have geo-thermal heating and wish I could make every level in the house the exact same temperature. Unfortunately, as with any three story home equalizing temperature is difficult. The lower level is built into the hillside and holds the coolness well in the summer. Heat rises, thus the third level is warmer but still cooled with air conditioning. The...

MY business partner and I were looking for a comfortable place to set up camp while we worked between the hospitals in Richland center and Platteville WI. Jane has the gift of hospitality in a big way. Even though B&B's are not traditionally set up for business traveler's- Jane went way out of her way to make sure we were...

What a unique B&B! My wife and I love staying at different B&Bs several times a year. This one is the most unique to date. Not what you'd expect in the back hills of Wisconsin. Jane is a great host. So down to earth and easy to talk to. She has a done an amazing job decorating the house in...

My husband and I stayed at this B&B while in town for a wedding. It was a wonderful visit - our only regret was not being able to spend more time in this perfect countryside setting. Jane is an excellent hostess and made us feel at home. Definitely recommended!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located on the 200 acre farm that I grew up on. Plenty of room for hiking and enjoying nature. B&B us just four miles north of Richland Center, WI, the hometown of Frank Lloyd Wright in the Driftless (non-glaciated) area of WI. Our big hills are beautiful and provide wonderful woodland habitat for deer, turkeys, etc...The area is dotted with spring fed ponds, streams, creeks and rivers. Kayaking, canoeing, and tubing are available through a local business. Hiking and biking trails abound. Fun motorcycle riding roads run throughout the county. Art, music and theater venues. I own and operate Flying Cat Art Studio which is located on my property. Art workshops and sales are featured here. ... more   less
