If you are looking for a clean, comfortable hotel for the night, this is a good one. The rooms are comfortable, beds exceptional, and staff is friendly. Be careful in the shower, though, since they didn't install a grab bar. Being a budget type hotel, you won'f find the "extras" that are nice to have in some hotels, even though the price may be comparable. As a Wyndham Club member, I at least expect complimentary bottled water upon check-in...nope. No USA Today daily newspapers, either, although they did have the local press, but nothing to write home about. You also won't find a coffee pot in the room, and if you check in early evening, the coffee in the lobby has been sitting all day. The desk clerk was nice enough to make a fresh pot. Some hotels have fresh baked cookies in the lobby, which is always a nice treat, but here you will find only coffee and a couple vending machines. The fitness center was low budget, too, which included a treadmill, ski machine and elliptical tracker in an open room off the second floor. Sanitation wipes were available, but no water, towels or tv. No pool, so summer vacationers with children should pass this one up. They had a computer available in the lobby which worked well and included a very comfy desk chair. No privacy, but a well working system. Their morning breakfast is pretty much continental style, with no hot items other than oatmeal packets and hot water or a waffle maker. They offered yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereals, pastries, bananas, oranges, toast, bagels, juice and coffee. All the items were fresh and it provided enough variety to start your day. In addition, you had a choice of skim or 2% milk, so you could eat healthy, and they kept everything available. Again, being a budget style hotel, it was better than most, but if you like your eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, etc., you need to look elsewhere. As a traveling stopover, you'll be more than satisfied with a good night's sleep at a moderate price, so I recommend it and give them a grade of A-

This hotel was spotless both the exterior and interior and so well-maintained that it appeared to be brand new. Wonderful assortment for the breakfast. The owner is who I actually talked to when I made the reservations and when I checked in and was maning the lobby and breakfast area. Really enjoyed our conversations together.

A nice, clean, quiet & affordable place to stay. My family often stays here while visiting relatives. There aren’t a lot of choices in this rural part of the state but microtel inns are very nice. I’ve stayed in them in other parts of the US as well and enjoyed them.

Contrary to the hockey mom who complained, I've stayed here for many years and at least 3 weeks in 2019 on business. Internet is terrific (better than my home), breakfast is excellent (eggs, yogurt, fresh oranges and bananas, coffee, tea, milk, waffles and a huge assortment of pastries, raisin bread, english muffins and bagels and cereal. The place is very quiet, staff are incredibly courteous and accommodating with package delivery, special room requests and more. The facilities are in top shape, new carpet on the two floors I stayed on and everything is always clean and sparkling. Yes, there were some kids making noise inside playing hockey in the hallways but when I asked them to play downstairs where the puck wouldn't bounce off my door, the kids were polite and just need some direction. There were no adults supervising so it really isn't the staff's job to babysit. It isn't the kids' fault--they were just having fun but the adults should know that someone had to fix the wear and tear that comes from hockey sticks and pucks played indoors. The location is excellent for me, being a few miles from the Rice Lake Airport where I do business each year, beside Highway 53 and a few seconds over to the Kwik Mart and Menards. During the last two massive snowstorms, everyone was keeping things plowed and clean and warm. I don't miss the pool, I prefer a large suite at a reasonable rate and I get that here.
