We had the pleasure of staying at this country in on the farm in the beautifully scenic Driftless region of Wisconsin. The Bed & Breakfast is welcoming, clean, and charmingly country. Our hosts, Dorothy and Don, welcomed us and made our arrival special with an anniversary bouquet and chocolates based merely on its mention when booking, How thoughtful! Growing up on a farm, a day began with coffee, conversation, and a healthy breakfast. Our experience at Valley Springs Farm B & B was "spot on" -- a delicious breakfast and inviting conversation was the start of our day. We were treated to a tour of this working farm and although we were familiar with farm life, we learned things about the Harms' farming operation. This B & B experience would be delightful for individuals of any age throughout all of Wisconsin's seasons. We will definitely be back for another visit to Valley Springs Farm Bed & Breakfast!

Our trip was a dream... this listing is tucked away in a quiet valley in the hills of central Wisconsin. It is a good way to get away from everything while still being close to the Dells, Reedsburg, Baraboo, etc. We enjoyed seeing the animals, touring the farm, eating a fresh farm breakfast, sitting on the scenic front porch, and taking many pictures. They also have the best beef for sale that comes right from the farm (all grass-fed, the beef sticks and summer sausage were fantastic). Dorothy and Don were the nicest hosts. Please stay here at the Valley Spring Farm B&B instead of at a tacky hotel in the Dells.

My husband and I stayed for two nights with our 5 year old daughter and 8 month old son. What a treat! The farm and house are so beautiful and comfortable. We rented the Lilac and Sage rooms and the beds and linens we're so comfortable and cozy. So many amenities! Dorothy provided excellent breakfasts and warm company. My daughter got to feed their baby goat Blossom a few times which was really fun. Tigger, one of the cats, was also around and loved to find a seat on a warm lap. The farm offered lots of things for children to do which was appreciated. Minutes from the Carr Valley cheese factory and Narrows Ridge Winery. Can't wait to come back!

I stayed here with my twin 11 year old boys on Father's day weekend. Dorothy and Don were superb hosts. The breakfast was locally sourced and delicious. We enjoyed the farm tour and it was so calming to come back "home" from days of bike riding, waterparks, boat tours, playing and fishing. I bought some of the farm's grass-fed beef which were frozen and i wish i had bought more. I will most certainly come back for another relaxing stay.

We favor staying in a bed and breakfast or small inn when possible and our stay at Valley Springs Farm was yet another example of why it is such a great way to travel. The owners check off all the requirements of a good B&B: comfort, privacy, advice on local food and sites and filling, tasty breakfasts. There are several ways in which this was a little out of the ordinary, however, all in a good way. • First and foremost, Valley Springs is a functioning farm as their website makes clear. Dorothy and Don have run it for decades, first as a dairy farm and more recently with a beef herd. It was interesting to hear about the workings and challenges of a private farm and Dorothy took us out on her ATV for a tour of the farm and the barn. Max, the farm’s Australian Shepherd, accompanied us to assist. • Saying the breakfasts were tasty is a bit of an understatement. We stayed four nights and each morning Dorothy had a unique two-course concoction, all of which were delicious. She clearly puts emphasis on and takes pride on the culinary side of things. • The staff includes not only Max, but also Toby the cat, who is the lead ambassador. He was at our car door when we arrived even before we could disembark. My wife and I agreed he is the most vocal feline we have encountered. Every time we saw him, which was often, he was mewing and/or purring almost constantly. I got the feeling that nothing happens around the farmhouse and barn without Toby’s awareness. • Finally, Dorothy noticed us saying grace at the morning meal and shared with us a local shrine to St. Anne. We visited a couple of days later and it was a lovely, peaceful visit to an out-of-the-way chapel we would have missed entirely. This again is the beauty of staying in personal lodgings like this, especially when run by caring folks like the Harms. As a footnote, one of my wife’s requirements is having a private bathroom, not shared with other rooms. Valley Springs normally has three rooms for rent sharing one bath, but as an added precaution they are only accepting one reservation as one of their Covid-19 precautions. So this turned out to be a surprise benefit for us as we would not have considered staying there during normal conditions. It truly turned out to be a blessing.

Guests like yourselves truly are a blessing to us as well. To be able to share our small “piece of Heaven” with visitors and have meaningful conversation about caring for our farm animals to provide food for others gives us purpose for our daily lives. We certainly would welcome you back to visit our farm.

Dorothy and Don are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Upon arrival we were greeted by Dorothy and felt very welcomed in their beautiful home. We learned a lot about the inner workings of the farm. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the City and this was the perfect place to do that. Our room was very comfortable and clean. They thought of everything...even supplying shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in case you forget yours. If you are looking for a nice relaxing weekend to get away from it all...this is the place to go.
