We booked here for Memorial Day weekend. Although I have some resistance to book at place without a personal recommendation, we had a very pleasant surprise. Friendly staff, working there across years, place is very well cared, large rooms, very quiet and cozy. Great for summer and winter too, as the rooms have fireplaces and a jacuzzi - not all,... For only a few dollars more than the chain hotel down the street, you get a room with real personality in a building that dates from 1902. Lovely furniture, a working fireplace, turndown service, a wet bar, and a shower that will make you want to move in and stay. Historic DOES have its drawbacks, in that the building is... More

We enjoy eating at the Port Hotel with it's old features and good food. We had prime rib, and maple glazed steak, both good. The waitress was friendly and helpful. It's probably the best in town as former eating places are being torn down and converted to condos.

The establishment is quite nostalgic-my wife tried inquiring with the owner about the date of the hotel and how long it has been in existence; however, the owner was more worried about how are kids were behaving around the "older/established" group of regulars and was not interested in sharing the hotel's history with us. The food was sub-par and quite... More

Excellent accomadations. The remodeled bathroom was beautiful and roomy. Beautiful marina. Hotel serves very good food, esp. their Sunday brunch. The breakfast in the room was healthy and plentiful. Only negative point was that there is no elevator but they did help with the luggage.

Lovely old hotel with lots of character and rooms nicely updated. Location is just a block or so from the harbor and our room, #307 had a nice view of L. Michigan; great sunrise. Stayed for dinner and brunch at the restaurant, all the food was delicious. Can't be the location for a great walk around the harbor.

This hotel is perfect for the history lovers ~ it's a historical building without handicap access or easy access to rooms outside of the steep staircase to the second floor where the office and rooms are located. The rooms are nice but the view is of the hotel roof and the roofs of local buildings.

We simply love this old world inn. Simple beautiful rooms, kind waitstaff. Wonderful restaurant on the lower level with the most delicious pepper steak I have ever enjoyed! Don't forget the gargonzola cheese. Nice location near the marina and downtown. Check it out for a quiet getaway.
