Overall nice campground. It was pretty quiet in the area we were at. My kids enjoyed the paddle boards and jumping pillow. Pool was nice. The burger special at the bar was great as well as the apple pie shots. My only complaints would be the bugs, tons of fly's and mosquitoes but those can't really be helped. The amount of golf carts, especially on Saturday. The wifi that you are not told you have to pay for when you check in and then pay for it and it still doesn't really work that well. Wood was overpriced compared to other campgrounds we have stayed at. We were not given a map upon check in or any info in regards to garbage,etc.... had to go to the store and ask for all this information.

Response from Pete H, Owner at Pride of America Camping Resort

Shannon, Thanks for the feedback. We do not give out a map since we escort all new arrivals to their site. The person at the check in shack should have mentioned that we now use Campers App in order to reduce our environmental footprint but since it is new this year they may have missed it. The App has a Map as well as TONS of information, including trash pick up. The good news on the WIFI front is that we should have a fiber optic connection by the end of the month. Currently, everyone is sharing a VERY slow 10 Mbs connection into the park. I hope you give us a try in the future, and thanks again for your input.

We go to POA every year. There is usually about 25-30 of us. There's something for everyone to do. We reserve the front cabins along the pool side because it's local for most things (especially with small children , it's right by the park).

We stay here once a year with family. There is tons of stuff to do and all the staff is very helpful. We always stay in a two room cabin. Pull out futon and double bunk beds with a small fridge and a separate bathroom. Everything is very clean and comfortable. There’s a large pool, a lake with rentals for kayaks, and a large bar area.

We showed up for our July 13-16 2018 reservation only to find out it was cancelled through no fault of Pride of America. My reservation was made through another person in our group who forgot about my family and cancelled the cottage a month prior when their credit card was "double charged". Clearly it was careless not to check with our 40+ person group to jog her memory as to why she was paying for 2 cottages (She personally handled my deposit 11 months prior). With my wife, 3 and 1 year old children in tow and no place to stay (the entire resort was booked) we were ready to head home. That's when the owner stepped up and offered HIS PERSONAL RV for my family FREE OF CHARGE. He saved the weekend. We paid for the the RV site, but were no charged for his personal RV. He even REFUNDED MY DEPOSIT I paid almost a year in advance. He continued to check up on use throughout the weekend to make sure everything was going well. My family is forever grateful for the lengths Pride of America took to serve a guest. We will continue to come back as the resort was great, the kids had a blast, and any amenity you need while camping is available.

This place is very large with a lot of seasonal sites and cabins. They have 2 pools and 1 splash pool in one combined area. This area was very clean and well kept. Nice sitting areas. They also have a beach with a roped in swimming area. The beach could use a little cleaning up. At least a good raking would help. The bar/restaurant was very good size and nice. Store and restrooms nice and clean. We stayed here with our 2 grandkids (8 & 10) Sunday and Monday so not too crowded. Lots of kids around.
