Dave & Amy are wonderful hosts. We had the dinner for 2 in addition to breakfast. The dinner was fabulous, cooked to each our likes. They made a sorbet with drizzled chocolate which was amazing. They were very accommodating on our diet restrictions. Add a little WI wine to the night for a perfect evening.

Thanks for taking time to leave a review. We are glad you enjoyed your dinner! We like the additional challenge of making great food within the parameters of dietary concerns/preferences once and a while; it shakes things up. :) It was a pleasure to meet you both and we hope that your future together is blessed and fabulous! See you next time.

We booked at last minute trip to Osceola WI to paddle the St.Croix River with my sister. Booking online was easy and Amy responded quickly via email with check in details. At time of check in, she was extremely gracious and showed us around the Inn. She upgraded us to a larger room that was open, which was completely unexpected and very thoughtful of her. The morning breakfast feast was phenomenal, Terry is very talented! You can feel the heart and soul they put into running the Autumn House. It was a nurturing stay and we will definitely plan a return visit.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your trip to Autumn House and the love that Dave and I put into it. It certainly shows in his breakfasts! I'm also glad the extra space the Stoneliegh room was useful when travelling with your sister. We were glad to give you that gift. It was lovely to meet you both and we look forward to your return visit!

What a beautiful little Inn along the St Croix River. The room was large and well appointed: fridge, fireplace, large tv, beautiful and comfortable canopy bed, fold down walnut table, desk, large sun filled room. There were so many little touches that made it a very special place. Dave and Amy are the most warm and hospitable hosts. Dave is an excellent cook and we had coffee delivered to our room in the morning then a scrumptious breakfast that rivaled any we could have ordered at a top notch restaurant. We will definitely find a reason to return for another stay. Also Osceola is a lovely spot with beautiful falls, hiking trails , and delicious restaurant the Watershed just a few blocks away. So many reasons to come stay at the Autumn House Inn

We agree! No matter the season, there are many reasons to stay with us. Hiking, skiing (downhill and cross country), biking, train rides at the depot in town, glider rides at the airport, scenic drives, wineries, breweries and small town shoppes just to name a few. We pride ourselves in our food and our care so we are really glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again.

We stayed here on labor day weekend to be in the area to visit surrounding wineries. We stayed in the Afton room and it was a comfortable stay. I cannot say enough about how awesome the breakfast was. My husband chose sweet and I chose savory so both days we were there, I had a delicious egg dish but both days I got something sweet in addition to the main course. The fresh coffee was brought up 1/2 hour before breakfast and it was service at its finest. I was very impressed! The only downfall is that we checked in Saturday afternoon and left on Monday and were disappointed that many of the area businesses were closed on Sunday and Labor day. We look forward to staying again in the future but will try to book during the week as some downtown stores looked interesting! The area wineries are good as well, I highly recommend Dancing Dragonfly Winery!!

We are so glad you enjoyed the Afton room too. That additional sitting room is such a treat. It might not have the best view of the river but it's a comfortable space to watch the water or just enjoy the serenity of Autumn House. I will pass along your thoughts regarding the mainstreet businesses. I know they are always looking for ways to better their businesses and services! Thank you for taking time to review us. We look forward to seeing you again!

We had the good fortune to find the Autumn House Inn when searching online for a place to stay in the Taylor's Falls/Osceola area. We really wanted to find a place that had character (not just a sterile hotel room), had a view of the river, and walking distance from town (no, we're not picky ;)). The Autumn House Inn delivered in spades! We fell in LOVE with this place from the moment that Dave opened the door and warmly greeted us even though we showed up several hours earlier than I had told him we'd be there. After giving us the tour of the wonderful common areas which included a Keirug to use anytime, snacks, water, etc., a grand piano and guitars (which we were invited to play - although we refrained so as to not drive away all of Dave and Amy's other guests lol), comfortable hang out area with giant flat screen tv - all overlooking the river, Dave guided us to our suite on the lower level of the house. We stayed in the Osceola Suite and it was lovely with its exposed stone wall, walkout to our patio overlooking the St. Croix, cozy fireplace, 2 tvs, and jacuzzi tub, mini-fridge, and microwave. The suite was spotless, well-maintained and the queen bed super comfortable with luxury linens (and I'm a linen snob). Dave then asked us if we had any dietary restrictions and/or preferences and what time we'd like our coffee and then our 3 course breakfast delivered to the room in the morning. We were impressed thus far. After walking down to Cascade Falls and then the river, we followed Dave's recommendation and walked to dinner at the Watershed Cafe where we sat on the patio and listened to the sound of the falls. Heaven. We then continued on to another of his recommendations and had some drinks with the locals at PY's. It was a great night. Promptly at our requested time of 8am the next morning, Dave gently knocked on our door and left a pot of delicious, fresh brewed coffee for us outside our door. Dave then reappeared at 830am with our incredible breakfast - spanish frittata with vegan sausage for me and regular sausage and bacon for my honey, a tart and fresh fruit cup of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries, and to finish it off - Dave's specialty: his blueberry bread pudding. Oh. My. God. The best bread pudding I've ever tasted! Truly an incredible way to start our day. We normally steer clear of B & Bs because we are very private people. But Dave has found the perfect balance of privacy and service for his guests. We so wished we had another night to spend at the Autumn House Inn. Since Dave had yet to steer us wrong, we again followed his recommendation and quickly packed up our bags (with sad faces) and headed over to Riverwood Canoes to see if they had any kayaks available for us without a reservation - this was Labor Day weekend, mind you. Again, Dave for the win! Riverwood was amazing and we had a fabulous time kayaking on the St. Croix (even through the pouring rain). We can't say enough good things about the Autumn House Inn and the service and atmosphere that Dave and Amy are cultivating. We learned from Dave that they are new at this and just took over the Autumn House about a year ago. Already they are fantastic innkeepers. If you ever find yourself in the area or just need a place to decompress, head to the Autumn House Inn! We cannot wait to go back! Thanks again!

Wow. Thank you for sharing your experience. Makes us want to come here too! Haha! Dave is amazing at what he does and fortunately for me, he's more extroverted. It's hard to be in this business when you're shy. Perfect for managing the office stuff but I don't get to interact with guests as much. It is delightful to know that he makes your stay with us what it is and that the seen and unseen efforts to make Autumn House great are obvious. We look forward to seeing you the next time you come!
