Had a chalet overlooking the Loch. Although the chalet is worn ( we were informed it is about to be upgraded). However it was still comfortable. THE VIEW WAS LOVELY . It was only a 10 minute walk to a nice quiet beach which was dog friendly. The staff were also friendly. We had a nice break there and would... More

We came here for an Easter break because we could bring our two young dogs. Our chalet was comfy and clean and well equipped. It was great that the dogs were allowed in the bar even while we were having a meal and there were plenty of places to exercise them. The pool was a big hit with our boys... More

We returned to Sandyhills after a 5 year absence, and again we enjoyed a splendid week at the Barends Holiday village. The log cabin accomodation was faultless (apart from a bat getting into my daughters bedroom one night, & frightening her to death). The views from the verandahs were of the loch just across the road, and we all enjoyed... More

Stayed in no60 a beautiful lodge! I would recommend a stay here, you won't be disappointed. On site pool is quiet, as is the sauna. The bar is very friendly and the restaurant serves excellent food. The beach is a great place for kids but read the tide timetables!

This was our first visit to Dumfries and Galloway and Barend was recommended by a friend. We stayed in the farm cottage next to the owners house that just sleeps two people. We were amazed at the size of the cottage because although it had only one bedroom, the rest of the property was spacious and really well equipped. A... More

Whilst every Chalet appeared to be full (going by cars outside of Chalets) there was never a feeling of that many people around, the Chalet we stayed in (number 2) was well equipped, clean, and coped with 2 adults and 3 kids well. the views, the balconies and space were relaxing, the facilities on site were great with the pool,...
