It was a great surprise to find such a charming place to stay just outside of Neillsville. The face of the business, Dawn, was warm, friendly, and takes pride in her work. She was able to accommodate us and truly went out of her way to make it a wonderful visit. The bedrooms are each decorated in a different motif, and the space was comfortable and quiet. There’s a fire pit for guest use and beautiful grounds with lots of flowers. Can’t say enough good things about our stay here.
More like a charming B + B than a motel. My room had a gas fireplace. Most of the rooms have one. I spent a weekend here at a veterans retreat. I couldn't have been happier. The Highground is America's largest veterans memorial (it is not a war memorial) and one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. I highly recommend it and the Moraine Motel.
While on a business trip, I stumbled into this area at 7 PM on a Friday night with nothing booked ahead of time. Tired and decided to ask in town for a recommendation for clean, safe place to stay during Covid-19 crisis. A local bnb owner suggested this place. What a special surprise! Bathroom was a bit small, with the shower stall needing an upgrade, but that was the only negative
Spent 3 nights. On a 4 wheeler trip. Loved the rooms. Beds comfortable. Fridge and microwave. Bathrooms a little tight. Service excellent. Friendly and helpful. Coffee always available. Dish tv for local weather. Breakfast. Near the Highground, a veterans memorial well worth a visit.
We have stayed at the Moraine Motel twice now, and we are always happy we did. Friendly owners and very clean comfortable rooms. We always meet the nicest people when we stay there. The Highground is a walk away. If you have never visited the Highground, you should.
Wow! What a surprise. Our motel was more like a lodge set in the woods. The room was spacious with couple of tables, fireplace, couch, etc. The back of our room faced a woods and we saw deer from our window. The price is incredible and included a nice choice of items for self serving breakfast along with good coffee.
I absolutely love staying at the Moraine Motel! The Moraine is the first place that I call whenever I head up to Neillsville to visit my relatives. The owners are so kind and friendly! The rooms are very clean and so extremely comfortable. The beds are so comfy! The fireplace is so relaxing! And the little touches with the beautiful tables and lamps and decorations are such an extra! At dusk, you must check out the back window to see all of the different types of critters from birds to raccoons to deer. I cannot say enough about this place! I stayed there this passed weekend and cannot wait to come up in spring to stay here again!!
My family and I stayed at the Moraine Motel for approx. 4 days recently. It was EXTREMELY comfortable, homey, clean and quiet. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it has a bed and breakfast feel. Each room is decorated differently and in a sweet kind of "grandma" style--quilts,comfy linens, hanging flower baskets, etc. Some rooms have fireplaces and all have refrigerators. A nice complimentary breakfast is provided. The owners are friendly and helpful nd the nearby Veterans' Memorial is just a short, scenic walk from the Motel. Wonderful place...much prefered to a chain hotel,
We will return to the Moraine motel anytime we are in Neillsville!!! This motel is a gem!! We just loved the bed and breakfast feel of the room with the beautiful quilt and oak, gas fireplace. all rooms had a fridge and microwave too! the room was very clean and the continental breakfast was better than most chains we have been to! Also they are located on the beautiful high grounds with a short walk to the war memorial, What a Treat!! the best part of everything is the cost of the room is so fair we will be able to return more often!! Thank you Moraine motel for a great experience!!!
