More like a charming B + B than a motel. My room had a gas fireplace. Most of the rooms have one. I spent a weekend here at a veterans retreat. I couldn't have been happier. The Highground is America's largest veterans memorial (it is not a war memorial) and one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. I highly recommend it and the Moraine Motel.
While on a business trip, I stumbled into this area at 7 PM on a Friday night with nothing booked ahead of time. Tired and decided to ask in town for a recommendation for clean, safe place to stay during Covid-19 crisis. A local bnb owner suggested this place. What a special surprise! Bathroom was a bit small, with the shower stall needing an upgrade, but that was the only negative
Spent 3 nights. On a 4 wheeler trip. Loved the rooms. Beds comfortable. Fridge and microwave. Bathrooms a little tight. Service excellent. Friendly and helpful. Coffee always available. Dish tv for local weather. Breakfast. Near the Highground, a veterans memorial well worth a visit.
We have stayed at the Moraine Motel twice now, and we are always happy we did. Friendly owners and very clean comfortable rooms. We always meet the nicest people when we stay there. The Highground is a walk away. If you have never visited the Highground, you should.
Wow! What a surprise. Our motel was more like a lodge set in the woods. The room was spacious with couple of tables, fireplace, couch, etc. The back of our room faced a woods and we saw deer from our window. The price is incredible and included a nice choice of items for self serving breakfast along with good coffee.
