We had a wonderful two day break in the rolling hills of Green county Wisconsin. The b&b was perfect and it was fun staying in such a historic old mansion. I slept like a rock it was so quiet. Inn keepers were great hosts. Monroe is a great little town with a beautiful square. We ate at the buggy works... More

My husband and I recently had our rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception on July 30th, 2016 at the Ludlow Mansion. We were beyond impressed with everything from the planning, flexibility, food, professionalism and facilities. Six months before our wedding date we found out that we needed to change venues and find something quickly. I remember as a child driving past... More

Our writing group stayed at the Ludlow this year for our reunion retreat, and what a treat it was. With six rooms and a number of areas in which we could gather and discuss writing, the Ludlow fit our needs perfectly. Within walking distance of the town square, it was easy to find and conveniently located. We enjoyed the atmosphere... More

A great place for a weekend getaway. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Randy and Shirley are excellent hosts. Too cold for cycling this time! New Glarus brewery is close by, but I didn't "spot" any cows. Haven't toured the brewery yet. Maybe next time.

As Monroe is my hometown I may be a bit biased. As a kid I was always intrigued by this place. Our daughter got us a room as a gift as we come down here at least twice a year for our " Limburger fix". We upgraded to the Ludlow room as it is on the first floor and thus... More

We were met at the door by the owner who gave us a quick tour but never told us the history of the house. No cookies to greet us, although there were some packaged granola bars available. We stayed in Belle's Suite, it has a huge bathroom (for a B&B) with cool old fixtures, so that was a nice plus.... More

I would like to begin by expressing my deep apology for your “mixed” experience at The Ludlow Mansion. We really do strive to anticipate expectations whether expressed ahead of time or not. As in any service oriented enterprise it is difficult to anticipate everyone’s expectations, regardless of our desire to exceed them. We have found by and large that either... More

We stayed in the Caroline Suite on a Saturday night. The check in was as quick as one, two, three. The room was perfect. There were probably 10 other people there that night, but we never saw or heard them. It was like we owned the place. Very quiet. It seemed like it was far from everything, but in reality... More

A group of 12 of us (six couples) recently took a bike trip to Monroe from Madison for a night and stayed at the Mansion. It worked out really well - the Mansion is just a few blocks off the Badger trail and ~35 miles from Madison. We reserved the entire house for one night. It's a large, beautiful home,... More

We stayed in the suite which was very nice. Dinner at The Dining Room in Monticello was a great recommendations. The continental breakfast was a little light but adequate. the host was very pleasant. All in all a very nice stay.

We had been looking for something special as part our a few days in Wisconsin and came up on the Ludlow Mansion in Monroe. First impressions are rather mixed with a front entrance that could definitely do with a spruce up and maybe a new front door, but once inside we were blown away with old world charm and a... More
