My family of 6 stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days. Our first room had a toilet that over flowed. The next room was so dirty. The carpet was stained, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. There was garbage in the corners and along the bed box. The room smelled musty. We had a great time at the pols. All 4 kids loved the water. The hot tub was wonderful. In this time of COVID-19, I felt like the hotel handled it appropriately. Breakfast was all safe. I just wish the hotel had been clean.
So disappointed. Staff assured me prior to visit that they were a safe (staff and patrons masked, extra disinfection, etc) - a place to spend the night while we are up here to get some prep done for our lake house lot. The hotel itself tries to be safe (signs for mandatory mask wearing inside, SOME employees wearing masks, plastic barrier at front desk, individual pens for singular use, to-go packages for breakfast, etc.), but CLEARLY ARE SUCCUMBING TO BULLYING of public who refuse to wear masks. One employee clocked out, no mask, and bid goodbye to front desk guy. Two unmasked guys enjoying the lobby, one unmasked guy confronted us in our hallway who told us "You better conform! There is a whole bunch of people without masks drinking beer in the lobby" and, (I guess because we were wearing masks?) "YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!" Needless to say, we cancelled our reservation. Not safe, not okay. The front desk guy was super nice and accommodating - I think he feels helpless, bullied. We are EXPERIENCING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC, safety is not a joke. This is not a matter of rights (just like seatbelts) - and folks are acting angry, crazy, reckless. I don't want to feel threatened or unsafe where I stay. You do take a chance staying anywhere, but risk mitigation helps so much. The room is fairly clean, but we found a used cotton ball & coffee stirrer on the floor (so not well vacuumed), and the carpet is dirty. I won't stay here BECAUSE OF THIS. We arrived late and had to sleep here (opened deck door to air out), but we are cancelling second night and will go home early (and NOT through lobby). This does not need to be this way; no one likes Covid, but it's here. It's disgraceful to think there are people that don't care about their fellow man, and places you can't/won't be safe staying. I actually feel bad for the hotel- they are trying, but they clearly do not feel they can enforce good practices. So sad. …
My boyfriend and I stayed here thinking it would be fun to go on water slides. Turns out they’re only open on the weekend and it didn’t say on the website. Total waste of 100$ There was also blood on the bedsheet
I go for my pool workout several times a week. I’m a “seasoned senior” who in this time of Covid desperately needs the pool for my own mental health!! It certainly fits the bill!! Towels are also provided which is always helpful. After my time there I always feel better. I may not look younger BUT I feel younger!
I stayed here on a business trip. The front desk folks are disgruntled employees, never smile, marginally helpful, and don’t pay any attention to details. My trip was supposed to be charged to my employer’s credit card, which they had on file. They wanted my credit card for incidental expenses. Then they go ahead and charge my entire stay on my card, despite me cautioning them not to do so. This created a lot of unnecessary paper work for me. The rooms are mediocre. The carpets and sheets were stained, and smelled of animal urine. COVID-19 is their excuse for not providing any housekeeping services. The free breakfast is a joke. They have a Starbucks log on their outside signage, but they don’t serve any Starbucks menu. They have a tiny disclaimer posted inside the store, stating they are not a Starbucks store. I would not recommend this place, the other hotels in Minocqua offer better service.…
