We enjoy using the Mineral Point Hotel as our base when in the area visiting family, who have settled here. The hotel is located at the edge of the downtown shopping area and is especially close to Popolo's Bistro, where our son is the chef. John and Lisa have created a very period ambiance throughout the lobby and into the rooms. As a photographer, I find many fascinating details to be inspected and admired. The simple black accents stand out against the white walls and embellishments. The room was well kept and maintained. Our small travel pillows were not needed with the several large, firm and comfortable pillows provided on the rooms firm, wrought iron framed bed. With the cold weather of the season, John placed candles at the front of the hotel inside cylinder-shaped globes. I took 2 days to convince myself these were actually large ice cylinders.

We stayed one night at this beautifully restored building which is conveniently located near restaurants and galleries. We stayed in Room 1810 which is on the first floor. The room is small but adequate for two people. It is nicely decorated and had a small reading nook. There is a small private balcony. The muffins provided for breakfast were yummy! We only had a couple of issues. The first was that the bathroom sink is located inside the room. I'm sure this was necessary due to the limitations of restoring a building this age. Our main complaint was the loud music that was played in the afternoon. I am not sure if this is a regular thing or just rude guests, but it was loud enough we could not rest after our long drive. If this was just rude guests, I can put it down to "people are people." If this was, however, a regular afternoon thing for the Inn, I would suggest the music be turned down or that guests booking Room 1810 be forewarned. All that being said - we think the Inn is a great asset to Mineral Point.

Hello, thank you for the review. Sorry the lobby music was too loud for you that afternoon. I wish you had notified the front desk, we would have gladly lowered the volume or turned it off.

We barely got fully into the entrance when we had to pause, chins to chest, to take in the wonderfully decorated lobby! From floor to ceiling the attention to detail was charming and delightful! We felt we had stepped back to another time, another place, and continued to be pleased and even surprised by how well presented EVERY aspect of the lobby, the hallways, the rooms were! We were there for 2 days to just look around and explore Mineral Point, and the first morning we had to convince ourselves we even wanted to leave the room! Location is within walking distance of anything you might want to do in Mineral Point (it is a small, compact town). The owners are genuine, concerned and considerate, with information for the asking about any aspect of one's curiosity about Mineral Point. We will be back whenever we travel to that part of Wisconsin!

We stayed at the Mineral Point Hotel after an event at the Opera House. The hotel is amazing! The lobby is fascinating, the decorations, the attention to detail...simply amazing. Our room was very comfortable and very thoughtfully appointed. I've stayed in many modern hotels that don't have plumbing and electrical this good. Plenty of electrical outlets and in convenient places, good water pressure, window shades that work, lights with dimmers, etc. You can't ask for better. So the attention to the detail of a traveler's needs is also remarkable. John, the owner, was very gracious and knowledgeable of the town and the hotel's history as well as local attractions. This was our first visit, we hope of many...we will be back!

We stayed at Mineral Point Hotel the weekend of our wedding, as did several people in our wedding party. The vibe of the hotel is so fun and unique (it reminded me of Moulin Rouge- turn of the century (1900s) in Paris) and we had a fantastic experience. The owner was communicative and the rooms had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

We so enjoyed our stay at charming historical downtown hotel in Mineral Point! This was our second visit and wanted to return because we loved our precious visit! We stayed in room 1840 on the second. I loved going up the beautiful old stairs. The large room was well decorated , comfortable and charming! The bathroom had black and white tiled floor with the claw foot bathtub. My favorite was the balcony!!! On the balcony there are 2 chairs and a small table. It is private and quiet! I pretended to be in my own tree house!! WE had our morning coffee out there and in the evening a glass of wine! Delightful!!! The location is great because you can walk downtown or to various good places to eat. John, the innkeeper, was very helpful. Because everything was just opening up at the beginning of June, John called several places for us to see if they were open. We can't say enough good about this place. We are definitely returning! Mineral Point is one of our favorite places. The town, shops, people and scenery are amazing!!!

If you didn't know, Mineral Point, a small town in the Driftless hills of Southwest Wisconsin, was built by Cornish folks who emigrated from Cornwall. I can attest to it's authenticity, having been there. The town was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. Also on the Register is the exquisite Mineral Point Hotel. Owners John & Lisa have put thoughtful decorating into this quaint hotel, and provide all the amenities and help with dining, attractions and shopping in the local art galleries and shops. The bed was super comfy, and the room was perfect for my daughter & me. In warmer weather, we could have sat on our little deck with a beverage and enjoyed the scenery. We are hoping to return in the Spring to visit again. John showed us around the other rooms & spent a lot of time sharing information with us. Truly a one of a kind so much more restful & enjoyable than a chain hotel. Thank you John for an amazing experience!

The Garden Suite is a beautiful and picturesque stay. It feels very charming and comfortable from the moment you walk down the historic stairs and open the door. It has everything you could possibly need or desire available. Built in shelving in the kitchen and dining area offers an accessible and helpful array of coffee cups, glasses, plates, along with a full kitchen including a stove and silver kettle. I loved the absolute beauty of the suite. It just felt peaceful on every level. This was booked last minute for some work meetings nearby and the location was so convenient. I found very kind people in Mineral Point. The Garden Suite is a truly wonderful place to stay and I would say it offers the peace and quality that everyone hopes to find while traveling. Thank you again.

What a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful historic building in the historic town of Mineral Point. You open the entrance's tall door and walk into a very french quarter New Orleans vibe. The tall ceilings give the charming lobby an airy feeling. The lobby offered two separate sitting areas, a coffee bar and even a liquor bar (purchase extra, of course) We were welcomed by the owners and check-in was a breeze. Our room held two rod iron queen beds with a claw foot bathtub. The room was large and again had tall ceilings with a ceiling fan. Amenities included a flat screen TV in the room and a hairdryer provided in the bath. There were plenty of towels. The beds & pillows were super comfy. I did not expect such a warm & inviting stay. The owners are kind and thoughtful. It all made for good memories and a place I look forward to staying at again.

What a lovely place! The style reflects the historic nature of Mineral Point, but the amenities are modern, including HDTV, individually controlled air conditioning, and wifi. We stayed 2 nights for my birthday, and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is centrally located for galleries, shopping and restaurants. Excellent coffee and muffins will get you started in the morning. If you don't feel like going out for drinks, you can buy one right on the premises and have it on the beautiful patio, surrounded by flowers. John and Lisa are very kind and helpful with information. I can't wait to go back! (Trip already scheduled for October).
