It's not fancy but it's everything you need for a cozy home away from home. The staff are all so nice and welcoming, the room is spacious enough, good light, a comfy bed and windows that even open. Downstairs is a little bar/restaurant where you can get a good dinner (and sometim

The service was great and we all enjoyed our meals. We had everything from fish and chips to their dense meatloaf. They have a small bar next to the restaurant which is why I am giving it a 4 out of 5 due to noise.

It's hard not to love this place.

My wife and I have stayed here three times. I have not a drop of Irish blood in me, but every time we check in at the County Clare Inn I feel like I do (or should). Expect a personal welcome at the front desk. Proceed from there to your room, c

Convenient location (not walking distance convenient, but close enough) to Lake Michigan and maybe 20-25 minute drive to airport. Nice good-sized comfortable double room. The restaurant is pleasant and food good, morning breakfast is simple and free. The parking is free. Staff

We arrived about 10:00 AM on a chilly, wet Sunday morning. We knew that check-in wasn't until 3:00 PM but we needed to leave our bags somewhere while we looked around the neighborhood. We had rather a cool welcome. The ladies were not happy to see us (after a late Saturday night,

Compact but it was just enough room.
How close to you to the Summerfest grounds? Do you offer a shuttle to and from?
Hi Julia, Thank you for your question. The County Clare is approximately 1.4 miles north of the Summerfest grounds. We do not have a shuttle during Summerfest, however, the walk is brief, Lyft and Uber are great to use, and Milwaukee County Transit is also a option! Have a great day

Are there any child friendly shows? My sons (10/12) and I have been to Ireland and LOVED it, especially the music and dancing-- I didn't even realize there was an Irish Inn downtown Milwaukee, let alone with Irish entertainment-- I wasn't sure if this is all "pub" stuff (thereby they're too young. Or if indeed they could come and join alone (with myself) sometime - And we stay in a room afterwards...? Also, I was wondering-- when in the rooms at the Inn- are they actually QUIET(?), or does one hear the music or talking, etc from the artists playing below?? This is a kicker for me. (As this seems like a nice place to bring just my husband and myself some time too..)! Oh- assuming my kiddos are too young to attend shows_'- any other Irish places you could recommend that have some Kid-friendly entertainment? (Not a Milwaukee or even wisiconsin native :-o ) One last thing. (Sorry so long!!) Irish story telling!!! Now this is a classic!! Have you thought of finding an Irishman (or woman) who can tell good Irish stories-- the folklore, etc. we found that SO fascinating. You could even offer a few days a week in afternoon -- before the louder stuff behins (whatever the price- more as food could Be included (?) and the audience would be mesmerized by food, stories, - heck. Throw in a musical piece or two. Smiles. (these were always ALWAYS sold out ahows - and extremely popular- Well in a Dublin anyhow) :)
Hello and a Happy New Year to you and yours. Thank you for your email and your interest in our inn and pub. The County Clare just celebrated our twenty year anniversary on the 29th of October. We are a family friendly establishment that boasts a wide variety of music, that is mostly child friendly! Every Friday we offer a lovely traditional Irish session with a number of musicians. Frogwater, a favorite, is just around the corner on the 28th. Please visit our website to see a full list of what's in store! Our inn has three levels with a total of 29 rooms. You can certainly mention that you wish to stay in a 'quiet' room. As a small inn it is important that we emphasize noise levels while maintaining our quaint, Irish atmosphere! Storytelling is abundant on any given day here at the Clare, but yes, often times we have professors and students visit us from the Celtic department of our local university to do some special storytelling! Please feel free to phone us at 414.272.5273 if you have any further questions! We hope you'll visit soon. Slainte.

Was this by any chance the room named snug? Here is their description: "The snug is built next to the elevator and is the smaller of the three room types. This room features a queen bed, double whirlpool bathtub. This room does not include a desk workspace. Parking and a hot breakfast and included with your stay."
Sorry I did not see this question earlier. Two friends of mine have stayed in a snug room, and they are really not snug at all! They are smaller than the larger rooms and suites, but have all the amenities of the large rooms except extra sitting and work space.

I'm hoping to travel to Milwaukee summer 2016 from Ireland - do you have a room/suite that would accommodate a family of five (two adults, three children)? Thanks Felix
We do have Suites that boast one King size bed and a full size pull out bed in the sofa. Those are the largest rooms we have to offer. Hope that helps in your decision making! Please contact us if you need further assistance!
