With its Art Deco exterior and interior decorations, this place harks back to a different time. Never fear, however, the rooms are very attractive and completely up-to-date. We had a three room space to stay in with a king bed for $175/ night tax included. The free shuttle service was such a plus for us as we had arrived by train. Not only did the shuttle take us to the usual pick-up spots, but also to attractions like the Milwaukee Art Museum and Mader's restaurant. The Ambassador Hotel will be our go-to hotel whenever we visit Milwaukee. (PS. right now the parking is free.)

We stayed at hotel for the weekend to attend Brewers games. The hotel itself was very clean, large rooms, cool art deco, quiet and all of the staff was very friendly and accommodating! Parking is a garage on premises and normally only $20/night with as much in and out as you want. The shuttle service is amazing and all the shuttle drivers were top notch! They will shuttle you anywhere downtown and they work hard at coordinating so no-one has to wait long. The only downside to staying here is there's not a lot of actual walkability. We will definitely stay here again. It will be even better when the restaurant in the hotel opens back up. The bar is open though!

Very well kept, period hotel with a couple of pandemic driven shortfalls. Lack of available staff has them short on working elevators and no lobby bar or food services. That's a big blow to this traveler hotel who relies on its vibe to choose this over other Milwaukee hotels. They promoted discounts on food and beverage that they could not deliver on. That hurts. I would return if I had a reason to stay near Marquette University but without the lobby experience I really don't have cause to choose this hotel over others. I will speak to mgmt re: services before booking in the future. To be clear I do not fault mgmt for staffing constraints. That is a nationwide challenge given we continue to pay people not to work under the auspice of maintaining community health. But advertising a lobby bar and dining that isn't available is bad form. Call ahead, don't rely on websites these days.

First trip to Milwaukee and stayed at the Ambassador Hotel. Beautiful hotel with so much history and character. Super value with clean rooms and all the amenities you need. Parked our car and used the hotel shuttle to explore the city. The hotel staff was amazing and made sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend as it is a great value.

The Ambassador is an amazing piece of preserved American travel history. If you’re going to gripe about it not being like a Holiday Inn Express, don’t bother. If you want someone unique and memorable, check in! The lobby alone is worth a visit. You get a real sense of what it would have been like in the 1920s and 30s. The preserved crafted nickel elevator doors are works of art. Yes, the rooms are minimalist, but they are clean and quiet.
