Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel captivates guests with its artistic flair and vibrant atmosphere, celebrated for its music-themed decor and unique cultural experiences. While reviewers commend the prime location and the lively lobby with live music, some have called out issues with cleanliness and service responsiveness. The location along the Riverwalk in downtown MKE was perfect for activities and dining and enjoying the city. The common areas of the hotel were extremely clean and beautifully appointed, the galleries were very interesting and something unusual to see in a hotel setting and the staff from check in to housekeeping were pleasant, polite and courteous.

The room was again beautifully appointed and had little wear and tear but didn't seem to have been checked to make sure it had all the appointments that are listed. We had one bath towel, a mat and two hand towels. One robe and slipper set. We had to get the remainder of the towels from housekeeping, the robe and slippers not a big deal since my husband wasn't interested. And, the hair dryer needed to be cleaned desperately, someone that like ALOT of hairspray had used it and it was very sticky! The coloring pencils were broke and there was no paper but, again, not a big deal since we hadn't planned on using it. It would have been nice to have a book that outlined the check in / check out procedures and facilities that were available to guests, how to use the Netflix and Hulu and WiFi but there was no such book in the room.

The workout / fitness center was amazing with all you could need and then some, and again, very, very clean.

The coffee / water station in the elevator lobby of each floor was excellent. The Kurig was in working order and there was plenty to choose from, and much better than having the one in the room that never works!

My husband and I tried the pizza restaurant and the breakfast in the lobby, and didn't like either. The pizza was ok at best, the salad was ok but nothing amazing. The breakfast at the lobby was also ok, the food took forever, just getting an iced tea and coffee took forever, then considering all we ordered was a very fancy bagel sandwich the 45 minute wait seemed as excessive as the $36 price tag.

I was scared coming here. I called to book and the service wasn’t as automated as I’m used to. Little did I know, I would encounter one of the most personalized hotel experiences I have ever had.

Check in was seamless, including the complimentary vinyl records that pair perfectly with the player in each room. The visuals are welcoming, relaxing, and intriguing. There is art everywhere! It’s not overdone. It’s tasteful and cohesive. Basically perfect.

Once I got to my room, I got a check up text message asking how everything was. I thought it was a machine— nope! It was a real person that responded to my request for a microwave and late checkout.

Everything is clean. Everything is accessible. There’s a cool bar and restaurant inside, plus a Starbucks and coffee cart.

I have no bad things to say about this place. Will definitely be back!

As someone who stayed at this hotel prior to the remodel, what this hotel has become is nothing short of spectacular. If you appreciate the arts, sculpture, live music, or just a good aesthetic in general you will find something to love about Saint Kate. There was live music both nights of my stay, and walking around the hotel I was especially taken in by how much art there was from the lobby to the elevators to the hallways and even the closets.

During my stay I interacted with staff from the front desk, the food and beverage venues, and housekeeping. Everyone I had the pleasure to speak with was extremely warm and genuine.

My room was a single king bed on the 9th floor with a door that connected to the adjacent room and was also located near the elevator. Personally, noise doesn't bother me, but a light sleeper might want to request a room near the end of the hallway and without a connecting door. It wasn't a problem for me, so I didn't feel the need to be relocated. The shower pressure in my bathroom was excellent and the water was hot.

I used the exercise facilities during my stay. The treadmill was everything it needed to be, and they had disposable headphones available.

I had breakfast in the restaurant, and was disappointed that they were out of all of their black teas and also out of some of the juice beverages I wanted to try. As it was my first stay I can't speak to whether this was a fluke, but as a tea person I was a little disappointed. My server on Saturday morning of my stay was amazing at being personable even though she seemed to be the only server in the restaurant with over a half a dozen tables. I wish I remembered her name because she was phenomenally attentive and efficient.

Overall, I loved my stay at Saint Kate's. As an artsy person I loved being able to effectively start my day in a gallery and felt like I got excellent treatment from everyone I came into contact with from check-in to check-out. Saint Kate's will be my go-to hotel for leisure trips to Milwaukee!

My family and I recently stayed for two nights at Saint Kate Hotel in Milwaukee. After a busy Thanksgiving, I was looking forward to getting away somewhere safe and close to home. I have to say that Saint Kate Hotel and its staff made our stay absolutely perfect and exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee right across from the Marcus Performance Art Center and next door to the Pabst theater. Unfortunately, due to the Corona Virus pandemic, most of the indoor entertainment venues were closed. However, there was live music playing at Saint Kate's bar both Friday and Saturday nights. Generally, there are many interesting exhibits happening on the first floor. We really enjoyed looking at the old comics exhibit.
The hotel takes every possible safety precautions concerning the Corona virus. There are many hand sanitizing stations located throughout the hotel, especially near doors and elevators. In addition, there are tissue paper dispensers nearby to open doors or press elevator buttons. Everything was exceptionally clean.
Our room on the 10th floor had a magnificent view of downtown Milwaukee, especially at night when we could see holiday lights over the river. The beds and the bedding were so comfortable that even though I had to share the bed with my daughter, I still had a good night's sleep. Speaking of my daughter, she really appreciated the colored pencils and ample amount of drawing paper provided to her. We also had complimentary water in our room.
As much as I enjoyed all the amenities that Saint Kate has to offer, I was even more impressed with the wonderful staff. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and we had everything and more. We also had an opportunity to try a variety of delicious drinks from the bar. My kids really enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice while I loved the Mimosa which was also made with the fresh squeezed orange juice. My husband appreciated the selection of beers on tap. Saint Kate also has a Neopolitan style pizzeria that is open from 7 am in the morning until 10 pm at night. We tried a couple of different brunch pizzas and in my opinion they tasted authentic. I lived in Italy for four months and ate a lot of pizza there.
My family and I are very glad that we were able to go to Saint Kate as it provided a relaxing and luxurious stay that was much needed and appreciated during these difficult and uncertain times.

Thank you Saint Kate!

I travel to Milwaukee quite a bit and usually stay at The Pfister. I decided to try out Saint Kate’s as I love the new “art hotel” trend that seems to be going on. I walked into the lobby and it immediately felt like I was in a modern art museum. Very open yet intimate. I made my way over to check in and was handed a beautiful glass of sparkling rose’! From the time I left check-in to actually getting to my room, I must have been pleasantly greated from the staff 5 times (and not in an annoying kind of way).
I got to my room and and about fell to the floor when I saw the bathroom. As a female business traveler who travels every week...seeing a bathroom that has a place to sit and put on make up is truly a dream. You could tell a woman must have design it because the lighting was “make up” perfect! Just be prepared to take the bar of soap home with you, just say’in!
I met some friends at Giggly, the champagne bar, and the atmosphere is one that you literally feel comfortable talking to strangers. We had dinner at The Dark Room and the food was incredible. Save room for dessert because you have never had banana cream pie like this before!

All in all it is a fabulous place to stay and I am looking forward to staying their again next month!

We stayed at the St Kate because we had a show at the Marcus. We used to stay all the time when it was the (very affordable) Intercontinental. You can’t beat the underground parking and being in the same building as the Pabst, the Rep, and being across the road from the Marcus. Luckily, I got a “lower” rate than normal for our first stay. The best part of the stay was using the app to check in and get a mobile key - worked seamlessly and it was so nice to have zero contact and go straight to our room. The room layout was exactly what it used to be as the Intercontinental - which was a good thing for us…we always liked the layout. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Although, after reading their cleaning/Covid plan, I can say there was no “seal” on our door. (Their policy states: “All guestrooms are inspected by a supervisor once they have been cleaned and sanitized. After inspection, a seal is placed on your guest room door and is only broken by you as you first enter.”) Again, not a big deal, but not what they advertise. We preordered Proof Pizza to have in our room before the show, and it was just OK - nothing to be excited about. All in all, it’s a nice hotel, but for the price, I’d expect more. I guess if you’re OK paying extra money either to be really close to the venue, or you want to pay extra to have a room with a ukulele and record player, then it’s a good place to stay. If you don’t mind walking a few blocks to entertainment, there are plenty of really nice hotels downtown with better rates.

First of all, when they asked during the booking process of there was a special occasion, I didn’t think there would be chilled champagne ready to drink and a hand-written birthday card in the room! Every detail of this hotel was perfect. We were in one of the basic rooms, I can’t imagine what some of the others look like! From the record player, to the ukulele, to the design of the room, the local artist’s paintings, location, concierge, guest service, prompt room service, it was all a wonderful experience. Next time, I’ll have to stay for more than one night! Whether you’re into the arts or not, this hotel is for everyone.

Ok, this is a beautiful new hotel, service was good, great location, the art exhibits were soooo great. Everyone was really nice, parking was easy enough. They did forget to bring sheets for our sofa bed and I had to call a second time but then they sent someone super fast and were very nice. Overall, great hotel.

Unfortunately I was traveling with a child with life threatening nut allergies. Every room in the hotel has a tray of snacks for purchase in the room that includes a couple things with nuts including an entire bag of pecans. And we got a room that included access to “the Study” which is supposed to be stocked with snacks and drinks etc. Ours only had plain granola bars and a GIANT jar of loose nuts (90% peanuts) There were crumbs of who knows what all over the room and leftover cups full of nuts on the tables. Obviously they’re allowed to stock whatever they want but if you have an allergy, be aware this might not be the place for you.

I started out as a 5 out of 5 because of good attention from staff. Texts asking how we were doing etc. Great intentions among staff. Very responsive to feedback. Decor is super cool. But...WiFi was not great, service in the bar/restaurant was motivated and thoughtful but inaccurate. Our room was near the elevators and they played music that was quite audible in our room, especially in the morning. The fan in our bathroom didn’t work and the shower wasn’t very hot. It’s a pretty hotel that has a lot of potential and it has more to do to fully live up to it. Still a few kinks to work out. Good location downtown. That said, I might look to other more established places for a little while while this team gets things organized especially if prices are comparable. Overall, good customer service and a pretty place with a few hiccups.

We took our first trip to Milwaukee to watch friends compete in the National Triathlon. We booked Saint Kate a bit last minute after not being able to find reasonably-priced rooms anywhere else in downtown. Saint Kate was a wonderful, pleasant surprise. The location is great on the Riverwalk, and we were able to walk most places, and the hotel itself was so neat - spacious, full of wonderful art. Our room was great for a family with a bedroom and a separate living space with a fold out couch. The hotel staff was overly accommodating - providing kids with complimentary chocolate bars, colored pencils, whatever we requested. The lobby bar was also great. I wish we'd had an opportunity to try the Giggle wine bar and nice restaurant upstairs. We'd definitely stay there again.
