After months in isolation at our house with two working parents, my 5-year-old was losing her childhood spark.

We booked a suite at The Pfister (a short drive from our home) that included pool reservations so we could swim without a crowd and have a little vacation without fear.

We had yummy food carefully delivered covered and safe at all hours of the day. We watched all my daughter’s favorite movies on Netflix.

The staff wore their masks, gave us 6ft, regulated the elevators to ensure only 2 people at a time. It was EPIC luxury at a time in which we needed joy.

Every person we encountered, was thoughtful, kind, and careful.

The Pfister and their incredible staff deliver hand over fist. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My wife and I checked into the Pfister for a 2 night stay while visiting our daughter. Every aspect of our stay was best in class and thoroughly enjoyable. Our spacious room in the tower was well appointed and provided a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan. The bathroom was large, elegant, and included a spacious shower stall with easy to use and decipher controls.

The lobby of the Pfister is stunning and absolutely beautiful. We had the complimentary breakfast in the Tower Clubroom on the 23rd floor on our 1st morning and had breakfast at The Cafe in the lobby on our end. Both breakfasts were fabulous. The Clubroom had an amazing variety of fresh fruit to go with eggs, bacon, etc. The Cafe had great omelettes and the smoked salmon with bagel was delicious. We also dined at the upscale Mason Street Grill, inside the Pfister, and it too was superb. The indoor pool and fitness center were also easy to access and first rate.

We could not have asked for a better stay, and we will certainly be back in the future.

This is absolutely the perfect hotel. It is absolutely gorgeous, and the service goes way above and beyond what you will get at any other hotel in the area. As I parked my own vehicle, I was met before I even checked in in the garage by an employee very kindly guided my brother and myself to the elevator and explain exactly where to go once we got to the main floor. We were greeted as soon as we open the doors to the opulence of this magnificent building built over a century ago. It is absolutely not just a hotel, it is a Destiination. Room service, a café, a restaurant, a lobby /Bar with a wonderful atmosphere to it, and other amenities as well as a men’s clothing store attached to the lobby. All surrounded by A beautiful decor including Victorian Art, that I’m told is one of the biggest collections outside of a museum. The staff absolutely could not be friendlier or more willing to help with anything that you need. I had an absolutely wonderful time at this hotel and all of this in the wake of losing a wonderful aunt. Her funeral was actually the reason he ventured to Milwaukee on this weekend. I told all my cousins who stayed elsewhere that they all missed out. One of my cousins however had stayed at the Pfister before, and he returned. And as soon as I saw pictures, I had to stay here too. And if I stop back to Milwaukee there is absolutely no other place I intend on staying. Enough said? Pull the trigger and make your reservations LOL you will not regret it.

From the moment that you walk in the door at the Pfister, you feel like a valued guest. My family and I stayed during the virus pandemic, and we knew that they had deep cleaned our rooms because they all had clean/safety seals when we got there. They only give you a few towels and they didn’t do room service while we stayed, but if we needed more towels we just simply called and they were delivered within minutes as well as emptying our trash. There is a nice cafe that we ate in most days for breakfast. Every time that we saw a staff member they greeted us and made sure that we felt welcome. The hotel and rooms are very old style feeling which as a unique style to it. The hotel is in a good location and just minutes from the airport. There is a parking garage that is also attached to the hotel with in makes it convenient to park. Highly recommended this hotel. If the need ever arises for me to visit Milwaukee again, I would stay here.

My husband and I spent our anniversary here. We are both health professionals and have not traveled anywhere since March. We love the Phister and have stayed here before. We like the historical part of the hotel with the high ceilings, marble bathrooms, large windows, and artwork everywhere. This hotel takes Covid-19 measures seriously or we would not have stayed here. It starts with kleenex at the elevators to use to press the buttons, hand sanitizer for use, required masks, contactless checkin and contactless room service. We walked the halls looking at the beautiful art and lobby and felt like we had been in a museum. The hotel is also close to the River Walk. We ordered room service and the food was delicious. This is THE place to stay in Milwaukee. Grateful to the Marcus family for preserving this grand hotel.

Stayed there for New Year's eve with a package deal that included tickets to the Milwaukee Art Museum, parking, a bottle of wine, and a $40 food credit, all for an incredibly reasonable price.
Though I've eaten at the Pfister once I've never stayed there and have wanted to for years. It's such a beautiful hotel, full of history and charm, and the staff seem very proud of the place they work. We stayed in the historic side and were upgraded at no cost to a suite, which I would highly recommend. The room was gorgeous and spacious, with an actual door dividing the living room and bedroom. Everything was updated with plenty of hot water in the shower and other modern amenities, but the room and area still had a charming, old world feel with marble, beautiful wood, high ceilings, etc.
We spent some time outside the hotel that evening but when we were there we toured the art on all floors and hung out in the warm and welcoming lobby. Though it was very crowded, for New Year's, the bartenders and servers remained gracious throughout the evening. When it came time to count down the end of 2019 the piano player lit a glowing globe and counted us down, and the bar served champagne. Perfect end to the night, followed by a luscious breakfast the next morning in the Cafe, again with excellent service. We hated to leave for sure.

Short review:
If you want a good night's sleep, make sure your room isn't near the top of the tower when the Blu Lounge is open

Details:
I scheduled my stay months in advance as I would be in town for a Sunday morning marathon. I expected a hotel which had such a long history to be a joy to stay at, but I was mistaken.

I consider a hotel's primary function is to provide an environment which allows for a good night's rest. Not here. Going to bed early, around 8:30 pm, I heard a persistent string bass thumping away through the walls. It turns out that in the tower, the 23rd floor contains a nightclub with live music. And I, fortunate enough to pay for an upgrade to a king room on the 21st floor, got to enjoy the thump thump thump of relentless bass which kept me from falling asleep.

I sent a text message to the "Pfister Butler", which is advertised both within the room and via text message after check-in. I mentioned the noise, and would someone please get me some ear plugs? No response at all. After 15 minutes, I phoned the front desk to complain and request ear plugs. The front desk was apologetic and confirmed my name and room number and promised to send up ear plugs right away. They never came! Eventually I fell asleep due to exhaustion, excited to run a marathon on a poor night's sleep. I also got woken up again around midnight to the sound of chairs moving around (club closing?).

The next day, the Pfister Butler texted to ask how my stay was going, on a scale of 1-5. I replied with a "1" and was then asked what could have been better, as if nobody had read my text from the night before. It's all in the same text thread! I reiterated my noise complaint and my disappointment at the lack of a response. The Butler's response was to apologize for the loud noise, that the club is closed tonight so "hopefully you'll get some peaceful rest." That's it.

If you stay here, check the Blu Lounge hours. You won't get a good nights sleep if it is open and you are within several floors of it.

P.S. Signs are posted that all staff are wearing masks, but when I checked in, the agent behind the front desk pulled hers down for the duration of check-in.

I do want to mention that the room was very clean. Plus, the cleaning crew was very friendly, always asking if I needed anything for my room when I'd see them in the hallway.

We are frequent visitors of the hotel visiting 3 or 4 times each year. We absolutely love everything about it from the rooms, dining, live music and the employees.

We received the Pfister communication on Covid 19 and the hotel’s efforts for their guests. Here is a hotel that really lives up to their values. On top of all their efforts to keep guests and employees safe they are even offering to refund non- refundable room fees. Not all hotels or airlines are this generous. We just lost a deposit at a hotel in Tampa. The Pfister is the type of company that needs to be doubly recognized for their loyalty to their guests. Thank you.

We hope to see you in May 2020 Pfister and you have our continued loyalty.

My husband was having treatment and cleanliness was so important for us. We were treated like old friends when we walked in the door and we had never been there before. We were there prior to and during the shut down due to COVID-19. The housekeepers came in while we were out to appointments and did a fabulous job cleaning and disinfecting our room. After the hotel had to cut employees due to limited guests even the men in the suits were sanitizing and cleaning to insure safety. I was able to walk around the hotel and enjoy all the amazing art on display and was able to see some of the ballrooms. All the staff from the front desk clerk to the lounge attendants were so kind and willing to assist in all our needs and only 1 of the managers knew why we were there so this was not just because of my husbands situation. We can not wait to go back when we can enjoy the entire setting of the hotel, and experience more of what they have to offer.

We stayed here and couldn’t have been more impressed with the way they handle COVID-19. Every attention to detail. Tissues in the elevator for the buttons, a secured room that indicated it had been cleaned, exercise machines marked disinfected. We stayed in the historic section of the hotel and it was magnificent. High ceilings and marble bathroom. My wife had an incredible massage that she thoroughly enjoyed and I used the pool which was limited in spots to make everyone comfortable. Couldn’t recommend it more. Front desk manager was attentive, thoughtful and generous. Outstanding service overall.
