blackout curtains, and Aveda amenities in bathroom made for a very pleasant, nice stay at this historic hotel. The breakfast - fresh orange juice and home-made waffle, cereal, toast - in the sunny dining room was relaxing and exceeded expectations. Shower was hot with good water pressure. I found the hotel staff to be personable and helpful. Special mention goes...

We stayed at the Astor for 4 nights in a deluxe queen room. The hotel lobby was impressive. A grand old building. The rooms were what we expected. Older furnishings, not much closet or drawer space, marginal bed (but very nice linens). The walls are somewhat thin and we were bothered by hall noise on the weekend nights. But the...

Hotel appears very nice. Was there for a friends wedding. In a packed bar I asked for a drink (ave price $6.00) The bartender after numerous attempts to get his attention took my 10.00 and then in passing asked if I wanted change. It was packed and I was caught off guard thinking the drinks were more expensive. later at...

My sister and I stayed here for my bachelorette party night. We went out on the East Side of Milwaukee and chose the Astor due to its proximity. Little did we know how accomodating they would be! The hotel shuttle took us to the restaurant for dinner where we met my friends. The hotel bartenders were fabulous. The only reason...

The Astor came recommended by two separate friends who clearly have not been back to Milwaukee in the 5+ years since college. Based on their description and the pictures I was expecting cute, historic, boutique hotel. Having stayed at other chains in Milwaukee for under $100, the price ($120+) seemed appropriate based on location, etc. The room was small and...

We had a $119 wedding rate so I was expecting something decent. I price lined the Hyatt downtown the night before for $78. Spending $50 more and going to this hell hole was at the very least a letdown. Based on the lobby I thought it would be a neat hotel. It all goes downhill from there. The hallways are...

I made reservations for this hotel through hotwire. It was $154.00/night and to be honest I don't see it justified. Upon arrival, the front desk attendant was not knowledgable of how to check me in. I asked where the restaraunt or bar was so that I could get a bite to eat. He then informed me that they did not...

Very lovely art deco hotel, extremely reasonably priced as they upgraded our room when we arrive, within walking distance of many downtown things if you're not too delicate.

We stayed at the Astor for three nights for a wedding. We aren't overly fussy and I actually love historic hotels but really regretted staying at the Astor. The negatives: 1 mirror in the entire room (above the bathroom in the sink) which made getting ready hard. TV was 15 years old and about 15". No curtains over the upper...
