I suggest improving the guest sites to avoid muddy or water flooded area.

All amenities are very clean and well maintained.

Excellent staffing by providing wonderful local area attractions, addresses and operating times.

Just ok. Very disappointing as it does feel like it is being kept up. The campground is one of the priciest in the area and we would like better maintenance and a staff who cares. WE LOVE MATT! Great follow through and someone who is trying to make it better!

Did an overnight in the motorhome. We live in a nearby town and wanted a short get away. We didn't call for a reservation. For electric and water we were charged $80. and change to park there! No Wi-Fi or sewer hook-up. We stayed in campgrounds with all the extras for $20. less per night. We will not return for that price.

This campground is built for seasonal guests. The area for weekly rentals is a giant lawn with zero trees, cigarette butts all over the place, and huge puddles of flooding that have been there long enough to home a bazillion tadpoles. The “beach” that is currently advertised on their website AND social media page is about 1/8th of the size due to flooding (that we were told by numerous people happened three years ago and never receded). A giant dead carp graced the shore of the “beach” all day until someone in a golf cart finally came to dispose of it around 4pm. There’s a small printed sign on a stick that says “no swimming” and when we inquired as to why, we were told it was because there were things under the water from all the flooding over the past three years that could be a danger to swimmers. I feel pretty bad for the campground. The flooding is obviously not something that they can control and they’ve lost quite a few sites and their beach because of it, but they’ve had three years to update their advertising. The pool was closed (due to covid) so I will not review based on that, however it looked like a nice little pool. The park has quiet hours from 10pm-8am. I’ve been to enough campgrounds to know that sometimes these aren’t adhered to. I give a little grace knowing it’s the weekend, and let’s face it...we’re at an RV park so there’s usually partying, but the loud music and screaming went on beyond 3am when I finally turned our fan up high enough to drown out the sound. Really, the only reason I’m even giving this place two stars is because the employees were so friendly and kind, and they had their activity director coming around with craft bags for all the kids since they couldn’t meet due to covid.
I also recognize that while this type of “family” camping isn’t for our family, it is for others, so my review is strictly based on a weekender’s stay regarding the cleanliness, lack of advertised beach, no enforcement of quiet hours AT ALL, and generally crappy area for said weekenders. We made the best of it all and spent two days catching tadpoles and searching for painted rocks hidden around the campground while getting heckled by some drunk seasonals.

I received this email from the campground 2 days before arrival: Your satisfaction with your experience at Blackhawk is very important to us. Unfortunately, due to recent restoration activity, the RV site that was allocated for your upcoming stay is not currently meeting the standards that we like to uphold. For this reason, it is regrettably necessary for us to cancel your upcoming reservation with us.

Your reservation will be cancelled by our reservation team and will be fully refunded.
I understand there can be problems but this is not the way to handle a situation like this. They handled this all wrong. I should have gotten a call from someone stating the problems you are having with the sewer system then told by them that they will accommodate me with a nearby new site of equal value and amenities. They went about this whole deal the wrong way by cancelling my reservation 2 days before I drive 500 miles to get there. Shame on them for the way this was handled. Fortunately I was able to get a site at a nearby campground (Lakeland), but the Blackhawk campground staff should have made the reservation for me and not make me do it. To add insult to injury, the new campsite cost more.

This is in Horrendous Shape. We had dry rotted stairs going in small Cabin (priced around $150 a night to much). We had Linoleum Ripped in Bedroom, almost cut toes on it, scratched them good thou. We Had Chairs on Porch that if you moved in them you could be on floor. Mold all around outside of Cabin. Porch Screens Ripped and on spot tried to fix but not on hole above it. Peeling linoleum in front room. No Picnic table. called office, they never returned call. went to office and they told me, no blinking light on phone. so you never called, really. Lie to my face. 100+ foot orange extension cords connecting 3 cabins. Finally after 2 hours received golf cart. This is just the start. Only good thing is a decent Military discount. STAY AWAY

If you enjoy lights shining in your eyes all night long from golf carts going by constantly and you enjoy listening to loud rap music all night long this place is for you. This is not a camp ground, it's a golf course with lots and lots of golf carts and people screaming all night long. You are surrounded by 3 lakes but you won't hear a single frog or cricket. You'll hear loud music, and golf carts all night long.
The place is kept very clean, but the sites are mostly on a hill so be prepared to jack that trailer up high!

This is a large campground that is 90% seasonal. The transient area is all new with fresh 50/30/20 amp service, water and sewer. The lake levels have dropped from flood stage and are usable once again. Park is horribly understaffed for it’s size. We are seasonals here.

This property used to be so much fun with all the activities and entertainment, unfortunately this has now gone away for the most part. For pretty much anything likes bags horseshoes seasonals run it and the campground doesn't give them money to help towards the pot for the winners, bingo is ran by seasonal volunteers, bands are very far and few and just recently have heard that some bands seasonals have paid to be there. When you pay over $4000 for the year and everything is pretty much volunteer ran or activities where you still have to pay for doesn't sit well with me. Now on to the "store manager" she is very rude and has not written down pumpouts when we have requested and then tried to argue about it instead of trying to resolve the situation. She has never been pleasant. Now the other staff in the store are amazing and very kind. Matt is amazing nd a big asset to the campground and Jarrod as well. Now on to the property itself, the bathrooms are only clean the time that the people come in the morning to do so. Most of the time toilet paper has ran out, not stocked. The roads need to be repaved they do a temporary fix and put gravel in it so when it rains it washes away. The trees need to be looked at there have been multiple within the past year that has fell but when you turn in a sheet to have a tree looked at due to your concern there is nothing done... this is a huge thing where someone can get hurt or even die. So thank you to the seasonals for doing everything while corporate raised prices and collected

There is not a lot to do in this site other than a swimming pool and small play area which you could probably find anywhere, there is a lake but no rentals for boats provided. The super cottage cabin we stayed was ok but the outside area was dirty and appeared like not cleaned in months which made it uncomfortable to sit outside, we ended up staying inside, the bathroom was not really clean. Not kid friendly as the areas were uneven. We expected the site to be more scenic, close to nature and private but we didn't feel that way as it was just crowded with people and cabins everywhere. Overall it wasn't anything to be excited about and not planning to be back here again!
