We try to stay at Mom and Pop hotels during our bicycle trips when possible. This one was nicely kept up with a very good restaurant nearby. I would definitely stay here again. There isn't a coffee maker, but they do have wifi and cold airconditioner.

COZY, QUIET, COMFORTABLE. I have always had a sentimental fondness for the older Mom and Pop Motels and this is a great throwback. In Northern Wisconsin, this is a classic example. Cost is VERY reasonable. My unit had 2 double beds, a mini fridge, microwave, and flatscreen TV with cable. There was an AC unit, but just cracking a window did the job for the night. The owner of Loon's Nest was very nice and I was able to check in early even though I had just dropped by. The town is very quiet at night and I could even hear loons and other wildlife calling out in the distance, a welcome northwoods feeling. I can't wait to come back. Thank you for a great stay.

Very good value. Nice beds, plenty of pillows, large selection of TV channels, microwave and mini fridge. Arrived during light rain, there is porch in front of room that you can park bike under and has small picnic table - great not having to be indoors. Many local taverns nearby - great meals within walking distance. C-store next door.

I have stayed here the last 2 years for Loon Day with my family. Rooms are clean even though they are a bit dark. Shower is nice and large and air conditioner works great. Owner is very friendly and willing to provide anything she can for you - all you need to do is ask. Love the little picnic tables provided so we can eat outside. Have a little refrigerator and microwave in room which works great for warming up leftovers. Within walking distance of everything going on for the festival, gas stations, eating places. Can sit out and listen to the festival music without having to be at the bar.

Cozy little motel in the heart of Mercer. Very friendly lady that owns it. We stayed here while on a snowmobile weekend with friends. Close to everything downtown. Good heat in the room and nice hot water in the shower. Nothing fancy but all one needs. Not a lot of parking though.

I stayed here in towards the end of June. The room was OK but there were two things that were a problem: many, many, many, mosquitoes inside of the room. I don't know what the deal was but I think I killed around 30 - 50 mosquitoes in the two nights I stayed. I left the windows closed but they kept coming in. It wasn't too much fun to get bit by mosquitoes in the middle of the night or have mosquitoes buzz in my ear at night. The second odd thing was the fact that they didn't do anything to the room (didn't make the bed, give new towels, etc) between the two nights. Pretty odd. I stayed there because it was cheap. It seems like there is a reason why they are the cheapest hotel in Mercer.

This place is a bargain in the north woods. Central location in downtown Mercer in walking distance to all that Mercer has to offer for meals and night life. Rooms are nothing special and dated. It has a retro 50's feel and fun to just go with it and enjoy what it is. It does not pretend to be a 5 star hotel. The rooms are spotless clean and Betty the owner goes above and beyond to accommodate us. Love this place!!

The single rooms are very small, And not to many outlets, tv was decent sized. I don't know what some of these places are using to clean the rooms but it leaves the rooms smelling bad, if it's not from that I don't know price was pretty good but no WiFi.

The shower is very spacious, but the nozzle is placed in the corner at an angle that makes it difficult to use. Owner said there was WIFI reachable, but I was unable to find any. I was there to explore the Turtle Flowage which is near by. This was the best deal I could find in town for an overnight stay. Sleep was interrupted by bear hunters, and their barking dogs, outside my door at about 5 am. NO fault of the management, the hunters just happened to be staying at this motel too. On a side note: The Turtle Flowage is wonderful........ beautiful lake, multiple islands, good fishing. Mercer is the closest town, and there is a casino not too many miles away from Mercer. When I return, I plan to camp out at the Turtle Flowage, but if I need to stay indoors, I would come back here. The place is no frills, but adequate, and the person who ran it was nice.
