We offer an active type of camping with special events scheduled many weekends throughout the year. River Bay is the port for the Princess Kay Paddlewheel river boat and the township boat launch is located right on the resort. River Bay has seasonal campsites, overnight campsites, and cabins/rental units. In addition, River Bay offers tons of amenities for the active families to take part in. These include: heated outdoor swimming pool, basketball court, volleyball court, two playground areas, peddal cart rentals, golf cart rentals, pontoon rentals, pier slips, Bayside Bar & Grill (offering great food and cold drinks), weekend entertainment, Chula Vista water-park passes included in your stay, and fun events to take part in all summer long.

Great camp ground, very large. My only complaint would be that internet was not provided at no charge while camping, although you could purchase WiFi for $8 daily per devise. A little tight and cramped in the area we were placed,if you needed full hook up. We did notice, while walking around the camp ground, the area designated for just water and electric was empty and would have been a better option.

Booked 2 pull through sights and a cabin online so we could be near our friends. They put our friends in the wrong cabin upon check in when they arrived first. They attempted to put us on sites that we did not book, farthest from our friends we could be. 2nd year in a row they’ve messed up our reservation. Thank goodness I had the online reservation and they stood by it. However, felt bad for the people that they put on our site and had to move to be near there friends. Need to get a better system in place I think. Also very loud campground with golf carts and things driving around all night and cars going fast for small kids. Fish fry is great at the bar.

Stayed over labor day weekend and had a great time. This was our 2nd time staying in a cabin. We requested the same cabin we had the 1st time and they fulfilled our request. Unfortunately, there was some type of yellow jacket best above our front door. One of them stung my boyfriend in the lip. I went to the office to let them know of the situation. The maintenance man was very nice and came and sprayed a couple of times, which got us through the day, but they were back the next day. Beware of cabi. #2 if they don't do more to find the best and fix the root cause. I agree with the previous review...I was really excited about the fireworks they advertised at dusk. I went down at 9 to check them out. Bummed they were so late. Love that they have boat docks available. The river is beautiful! Staff was nice. I'm sure we will be back again.

We arrived on Friday for Labor Day Weekend. We rented the cabin condo which states holds 10 people but we had 8. Dogs were allowed which was a plus. The cabin table had four chairs one was broken and off to the side. We told management and they got us two folding chairs. It would be beneficial to have seating for at least the number of people you rent the cabin for. Furnishing were very sparse for the number of people we had. Four dishes, cups, etc. We had people coming at different times for the weekend and pulled out the sofa bed very late Sunday night and found out all of the springs were broken. We informed management of this Monday morning and they said we should have called last night or came to the office (it was after 11pm) and there was nothing they could do about it. You would think that if they are renting a cabin for 10 people it could sleep 10 people. Very disappointed that they just blew this off with all of the money we paid for the weekend. We understood we were camping and did not expect luxuries but we should have gotten the basics. If you rent from them be sure to check everything and ask right away because the issue may not be addressed later. Overall we found the campground boring for Labor Day weekend with limited activities. We were told fireworks were at dusk and it turned out they were not until after 11pm on Sunday night. Wasted time waiting until campers told us it is going to take a long time. It is not worth the money I paid with management not caring for the property they are renting and will not be back.

Quite possibly the worst experience ever. First we made reservations and were told the rate was $47 per night. Sounds normal. Once we got there and we told them we had 3 kids, we were then told the rate was $77 per night even though we were all staying in the same camper. Then we got to listen to golf carts racing each other all night until about 1 am. The next day we tried renting a boat. We had a reservation from 1:30-5:30 for 4 hours. At about 11:45, the owner of the campground came to our site and asked if we would like to take an earlier slot right away. We said yes. We then find out they don't actually rent the boats. They have a nearby campground do it. So the other campground picks us up in the boat. We then find out that we could only have the boat for 2 hours instead of the contracted 4 hours. When I got back, I went back into the office and asked for half of my money back seeing I got half the time. Of course nobody could help me and they told me the owner would call me. She never called. We then got to listen to extremely loud karaoke music until 2:00 am. This campground could care less about the campers. It was pretty obvious the reputation it has seeing hardly anybody was there camping. It is all about the seasonal local people who drink way too much. The bar business is all they care about. If you want to watch locals get hammered, sing really bad/loud and race golf carts into the night, this place is for you. If you want to take your family camping, go to Holiday Shores across the river. I have now tried calling back to talk to the owner about the refund they owe me. The woman on the phone was very rude and told me they are gone for the day. Like I said, the owners could care less about you unless you are spending money in their bar. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card in the morning.
