A countryside lodge providing accommodation in single, double, triple and family rooms with heated showers. We also provide ala carte lunch, lunch boxes, dinner, breakfast and breakfast boxes (on request). High speed satellite internet connection + WiFi. Transfers to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), also to towns of Moshi and Arusha. We organize day hikes to Shira plateau the best view of the highest free standing mountain in the World-Kilimanjaro, we also arrange walking towards the forest of Kilimanjaro through local community of Chagga people and learn about their daily livelyhood as part of cultural tourism.
We stayed here our first and last 3 nights of our trip and after being away for a week, it felt like returning home. The staff couldn’t be friendlier and are very accommodating, even leading us on walks to the local village and answering all of our questions. Rooms are basic and wifi better at the lodge, but it completely met my needs. The pool was refreshing after a long flight and a lovely place to hang out at the end of the day. Beautiful grounds.

The resort is in a rural location, surrounded by nature—trees, birds and other animals like bush babies can be seen within and around the premises. The staff are friendly and quick to help. Internet was a huge problem for me in my room, so I’d sometimes work from the restaurant, which sometimes would get a bit uncomfortable because of mosquitoes. The room was very simple with not TV. During my stay, there were constant electricity outages which would often find me in the shower. The backup generator would take about 10-20 mins to pick. During my stay, I had indicated to the manager and one of the staff that both my bedside lamps needed a change of bulb, and they promised to have it changed. Some bulbs in the room were also not lighting. Unfortunately, I left the place with the issue unresolved. The outdoor area was also very dark at night - and had no lighting. On my first night, I almost got lost trying to find my way to the restaurant as it was very dark and rainy…but a staff member spotted my phone light and helped me get to the restaurant. The manager/owner (Abraham), however, was very friendly. He made sure I go transport to and from my area of business as I was there on official/business visit.…

We arrived at the House of West Kili after a long day in the Safari jeep. There was a brief discussion when we arrived because someone forgot that we were arriving that evening. Despite that, the staff bent over backwards to make us comfortable and feel welcome. The rooms were clean and the bathroom/shower area was huge! Overall a nice stay.

When I had issues with my flight home, my local guide referred me to the House of Westkili. What a beautiful property. They made what was a rough day into a wonderful day. I had such personalized attention, a home made meal and a beautiful room. The grounds are spectacular. You can just feel how loved this property is by the owner and everyone working there. I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived at West Kili House after a long day out and having been caught in a torrential downpour. It was a welcome sight to find our comfortable, extra-spacious interconnected family room with two enormous en-suite bathrooms (and hot power showers) set amidst a lovely green, neat and peaceful garden. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and caring. They brought our dinner meal to us to enjoy alfresco on our large verandah which saved us having to head to the dining room in the rain. After a restful night's sleep in our comfy beds, we enjoyed an abundant breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast and all sorts of tasty baked goods before heading off to explore Moshi for the day. Thank you, West Kili House, for your wonderful hospitality!

We were referred to Abraham and House of West Kili by a long-time friend. So glad this worked out. The stay at HoWK was very good in and of itself. We loved the team. It was a little sanctuary before and after the climb that Abraham helped arrange. We had an EXCELLENT trip. We also went to a local school to see how we could help. I am happy to be contacted for any questions.

We just returned from Tanzania and our third stay at the House of West Kili. It felt like we were coming home to family. We enjoyed the home made fresh food, atmosphere and hospitality. We are always made to feel welcome and enjoy the countryside atmosphere of House of West Kili and the town of Lawate. Speak with the owner Abraham and he can help you arrange the perfect mix of safari, culture, climbing or whatever you are looking for. You will be taken care of here, the staff is warm and welcoming, the rooms are large and inviting, the grounds are beautiful.
