Geneva Wells Motel is definitely no frills but it is safe and clean, has comfortable beds, a nice pool, and very friendly owners. It is also only a few minutes drive from downtown Lake Geneva. I was there several nights during the week and the price was a good deal. My only complaint is that the room smelled quite strongly of cleaning supplies (lysol or pine sol?) Upon arrival. I would recommend to the owners to change brands so the rooms smell better (lavender or some other natural scent).
My fiancée and I had a wonderful time on the Luncheon Boat Tour. The staff was professional, courteous and friendly. The food was great. We will definitely take another tour. We would highly recommend this tour.
last minute stay as our original hotel was crummy- so we called and 1 room was left which worked out perfect . the hotel staff is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL ** the room is so clean and perfect size , we had a kitchenette room - i would stay here over and over ... free coffee was a nice plus :) the motel is about 3- 6 mins from downtown lake Geneva and about 5 mins the other way is Walmart , fast food places, Walgreens - this motel is in the middle of it all - cant get a better location
I stayed in room 17 on the second floor. The room is a good size and has a large lounge chair as well. The king size bed was comfortable, but the cover seemed a bit dated. The bathroom area seemed clean and had plenty of room for use. The shower had very good water pressure and did not take long for hot water to come. The room has a small microwave oven that had seen better days and a mini refrigerator. overall, the room seemed clean, but it didn't have the feel of a room that had been sanitized for covid. For instance, the TV remote was not in any type of wrapper, which I have seen in other hotels. I do not know if the room had been unoccupied before me, but the motel did not seem to be full at night, so possibly. There was a built-in room heater available that was absolutely needed. When I first entered the room, it was extremely cold. I found that the reason was that there was a large gap in the door seal that was allowing the January air leak right into the room. The motel needs to correct this for their guests (and for their own electricity bill, I would imagine). There was no one available at the front office for checkout at 10am, but there was a key drop just outside its door. This doesn't seem very secure to me, but it is what it is.…
Their thing is their rooms, for this price we got very clean and spacious rooms. We heard they have recently, in the past year or so, renovated their rooms, so that's what we went for. Outside is nothing to brag about, just parking and a simple motel like structure. Check in was super easy. Family run and well managed I would say.
My wife and I travel a lot and this is the cleanest hotel I have seen. Very friendly atmosphere! Plus it cheap! Rare find. The rooms appeared to be freshly remodeled. Very quiet and located about a mile from downtown. Definatly will stay here again
Decent rooms, but bad business. We where originally pretty excited because we thought we got a good deal. My husband called to get pricing for one night and they quoted us $82. Wow! What a great deal for a room close to the venue we where attending so we booked it. We arrived and the curb appeal isnt anything special, but the rooms where updated and comfy. The doors are hard to open and close, but all in all a great deal. That's what we thought anyways. This started out as a great experience then we get home and notice we have been charged $270 for 1 night in a motel. Almost 3 times the amount we where quoted for a Motel???. Naturally we called and the guy on they phone said "It was a big weekend." What?? So you more than double your price of the room?? Bad business. No apology and no offer to make it right. …
We very much wanted this to be a good experience at a non-chain motel. And there are certainly positive aspects. The rooms are clean and quiet, the beds comfortable, the air conditioner is quiet and the units come with refrigerators and microwaves. There is also a nice pool area and park-like grounds. However, there were a number of negatives. The room had an overpowering fragrance that took a day to dissipate and made it difficult to sleep. The desk clerk explained to me that there are chairs and ashtrays outside each door, and the motel allows customers to sit there and smoke -- often with the doors open, which allows cigarette smoke inside the rooms. As a result, the rooms are often treated with a very heavy dose of air freshener from the housekeepers to mask the cigarette odor. Also, carpeting would, in our opinion, be much more warm and comfortable than the tile floor. And the tub/shower caulking looked very unprofessional and in need of replacement. This place could be so much better if they would just establish a smoking area away from the rooms, ditch the air freshener, carpet the floors and spruce up the bathrooms.…
Rooms have been remodeled, love the tile floors, owner is very friendly, great patio areas. Stay there every year for local golf tournament. Refrigerator in rooms. $4 uber ride to downtown Lake Geneva!
We stay each year for a guys golf weekend, the motel is very conveniently located and the pool, patio and fire pit are great amenities. My room was clean, recently remodeled, and very roomy. This would be a great choice for any group coming to the Lake Geneva area.
