Hotel was very nice, location very good! Walkable to all in town, yet on a quiet corner. Room was very nice we choice park view to see the deer in morning. Only issue we had was the lights in parking lot illuminated bedroom all night. There is no curtains on balcony door only thin plastic blinds. The blinds were not darkening blinds by any stretch! Husband needs darkness to sleep so unfortunately he was up all night.

The hotel is very nicely located right opposite the lake, and there are rooms with balcony facing the lake. The view from the balcony is beautiful. The hotel does not have any breakfast or restaurant but there are places around the hotel for that. It is just about a few minutes walk from the heart of downtown. Parking is convenient with both around the hotel and underground.

Best value for lake side accommodations in beautiful Geneva Lake centrally located in downtown Lake Geneva complete with indoor pool, individual private balconies with every room, Lakeside or Parkside, hot tub, exercise room and Himalayan salt sauna! At a fraction of the price you would pay at the larger resorts! Quality accommodations at reasonable prices are hard to come by in Lake Geneva. Bella Vista Suites is worth every penny and then some!

I had my wedding at this hotel. I was not please at all with this hotel. I wish we would have gone somewhere else. Beautiful view of the lake, but the service is way below any standard of an advantage hotel. They didn’t care that we sent all this money for the experience of a lifetime and didn’t deliver. If a hotel should cares about service, they didn’t follow through with what they said they would do for a wedding. The honeymoon suite that they promised to us was rented to someone else the night of the wedding. We were moved to the room next to my future mother and father in law. Yeah, I didn’t want to spend my wedding night with my new wife in he room NEXT to future my in laws. We were going to be 3 floors away on the other side of the hotel. The way it should be. When I asked the hotel to fix it, they didn’t care. They did NOTHING!!! Aren’t the bride and groom the most important people in the hotel that night and they gave me blank looks! We spent the most money of any one in the hotel, but someone gave away OUR room with the best view of the lake and called the honeymoon suite AND was promised to us for that night! They dropped the ball is an understatement! The reason I know this because it was given to one of our guest in the wedding! We also had a wedding room welcoming gift package delivered to our room that never showed up. With the package was preset up, it was delivered to honeymoon suite that we didn’t get to stay in. We had to reorder it that night after our celebration. Instead of coming into a room of roses, lights and chocolates at the end of long day of happiness, we had nothing! What was going to be a special night and event failed miserably! I can’t find it in my heart to forgive this hotel for not living up to the promise they gave us! Go somewhere else fast for your wedding!!!

We were quoted an outrageous price of $264.00. I did not know this at the time of booking, as my husband booked. The following is a list of items that certainly do not warrant that outrageous charge of a typical suite-room 203, to be exact:
1. Water stains on wall and paint peeling in hotel room.
2. Carpet stains in hotel room.

3 No breakfast voucher given, as it says on their website.
4. Worst of all: There was a loud wedding and a very loud DJ directly below our room. The constant thumping of the bass from the music went through our bodies for hours. We could not sleep. When discussing this at the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do. (Because we booked through a 3rd party app)
5. The "Wellness Center" is a joke. The hot tub was dirty and is surrounded by tiles on the wall that are coming off.
6. The entire hotel is very dated and not maintained as it should be.

Positive: The staff were pleasant, helpful and responsive.

I stayed 7 nights in a quiet bedroom with a living room/kitchenette, TV in each room, plus an incredible balcony-table and 2 chairs with a gorgeous view of Lake Geneva. Also, a good view of the people who walked on the lake's sidewalk with their dogs. The bed was so comfortable, that I slept like a rock. Nice shades and curtains kept the room dark at night. I am not a TV watcher, but the lighting was good for reading. Convenient stretchy line in the shower to hang wet clothes. Nice sized pool downstairs, but a bit cold which made the hot tub very inviting. Easy walk to great restaurants and stores in town. I tried numerous different breakfast places and each one was really good. Kilwins has great fudge, chocolates and ice cream but their bars of white chocolate are to die for. The service at the Bella Suites was excellent. The rooms were kept clean. ATM in lobby. Elevators worked, but nice stairs to walk up and down between the floors if you want exercise. Parking garage with underground entry. No need to worry about slippery ice. I only wish it had been summer when their dock was in place to go swimming.

This is a review about my personal experience: We left after the first night when 2 nights were booked. I felt it Looked and smelled like a 1980 run down college apartment. My opinion is that it seemed Dated, cheap, awful. Very old refrigerator and same for the awful electric stove. To me, it was Absolutely creepy. I thought it couldn’t get any worse until I saw what looked like a huge blood stain in the carpet next to the bed in front of the nightstand. I believe it was.
In addition the air conditioner was loud and it was hot in the bedroom.
Black vinyl chairs for the glass and metal table were all ripped up in the front.

The moment t you come in the the hotel you are treated with a familiar chilled vibe. The staff is so kind, happy, and just plain awesome. The Hotel is as pictured and if you're interested in getting what you paid for you're in the right place. Very spacious and clean. Massages and Spa facilities including an awesome sauna, well heater large pool, and jetted hot tub await. The Fabulous Baker Hotel and Restaurant is a diamond of an attraction connected to the fine hotel. The lake side balconies are worth the chil vibe and ambiance. The small upgrade to suite style is also worth the $. The microwave, stocked kitchenette and spacious mini fridge are also a plus if staying a couple nights. Parking is safe and free. The place is a perfect economical yet ideal and substantial hotel to book for a couple who likes a calm cool vibe without too many fake frills or extras that aren't needed. You will get your money's worth and feel like you got a great deal. Just a great bargain if you are looking for a quick and comfortable getaway to beautiful Lake Geneva. 😍 Thanks to each and every staff member!

Awful service, disdainful staff, and poor handicapped access. Bathtub in the bedroom.

I made my reservation for a handicapped accessible room. Called multiple times and no one called me back. Finally spoke to someone who said “we cannot guarantee a handicapped room at this point” and never called me back, said she would.

Arrival: Surly front desk person. Offered no info, welcome, or wedding gift bag (on the counter behind her).

Failed to offer elevator location, point out Sunday brunch, or anything other than disdain

Hotel room: NOT safely. ADA compliant. Very, low, rusty show stool with no back. No handrail in the shower. Couch is very, old and extremely low/sagging. You were too low for me to get up from safely

Hotel info says “we do not serve breakfast….” And then at the very, very end mentions Sunday brunch. Asked when I called and was told no breakfast. And the staff never mentioned it. Evetthing in the room is out of date. Could hear a loud knock every time housekeeping opened a room in the morning.

Saved by my friends who randomly had a shower chair, with a back in their regular room.

All I can say is the room was clean. The hotel is extremely dated, it smells quite aged. While everything worked, the faucet in the bathroom leaked in an upward direction, the air conditioner was loud, the patio door wouldn’t open. There is also a very loud pool or fountain in the lobby area you can hear from everywhere.

On the upside, the location, if you get a room facing the lake, is beautiful. Our room overlooked the parking lot. For the cost, this place is a no for me.

Is it close to lake activities and downtown Lake Geneva?
Answer from theguysm0m
Nicollet, Minnesota189 contributions64 helpful votes
The main docks for the lake are across the street. The public beach is about a two block walk. The hotel is one block off the main street. Parking in the hotel lot is easier than fighting all the downtown traffic. This location is great for enjoying Lake Geneva's best by walking.
