The Geneva Inn delights many with its serene atmosphere and picturesque lake views, particularly from the clean, spacious rooms. Staff members generally receive high marks for their courteous and attentive service, albeit some guests have encountered inefficiency. While the hotel's tranquil yet accessible location earns praise, opinions on value diverge, with critiques of overpricing and some unexpected costs. Amenities like the relaxing ambiance and outdoor activities are appreciated, though the lack of a pool and breakfast service, as well as a noisy HVAC system, are noted drawbacks.

I highly recommend The Geneva Inn to anyone seeking a memorable getaway in Lake Geneva. While some hotels rely on the lake's beauty to attract guests, The Geneva Inn truly complements the stunning scenery with its friendly staff, spotless rooms, comfortable high-quality beds and linens, ceiling fans, and thoughtful details. Everything about this place is welcoming and delightful and I cant wait to return!

You go here for the view! Excellent view, great location, however, the rooms have a very noisy HVAC system (sounds like a jet engine). We had a Lake View King Room. There was not a lot of options for sitting in the room and the bathroom did not have a tub, just a shower. We were later told that not all of their King Lake View rooms have whirlpool tubs (make sure you check this ahead of time, because this was not too clear when we made the reservation). The onsite restaurant was very good and also had an excellent view of the lake.

This hotel is perfect for a very relaxing trip. The view from the room balconies is beautiful, including gorgeous sunsets. The location is far enough from town to get away from the crowds but close enough to either walk via the shore path or a 5 minute drive.

Freezing cold, lackluster customer service, several issues with the room. Booked a 2 night get away primarily to hang out in the room, take baths, read books. As other reviewers have mentioned, HVAC is insanely loud. We had a lake view suite (excellent view of the lake) and the unit was in the living room. The bedroom was insanely cold. There had to have been at least a 10 degree difference in the two rooms. The staff offered a space heater when we complained about this which obviously means this is a known issue. The space heater wasn't adequate to heat the bedroom. Unless you were under the covers with an extra blanket or literally in the tub (oh yeah, the bathtub is in the bedroom...), you couldn't be in the bedroom. The second day the bathtub stopped working properly. Fortunately they did have another similar room we could move to but the staff the desk were not at all apologetic and did not offer to assist w/moving all of our stuff (a real hassle since we were only there 2 nights and my husband is recovering from surgery and can't lift and I have a bad back) and didn't offer a reduced rate for the room despite the issues with room temperature and the bathtub.

They make a point of telling you when you check in verbally and on paperwork you sign, they charge $50 per hour if you check out late. Check out is 11 am. My husband's hand was literally on the door at 10:59 to go down and get the cart when the landline in the room started ringing. He answered and no one was on the other end. He hung up, it immediately rang, no one there. This pattern repeated 5 - 6 times until we left the phone off the hook. When he got down to the desk, they said they were calling to warn we would be charged $50 if we didn't check out and said they could hear him and that the phone must not have been working. It was ridiculous.

First off, you should know, the bed photos in the pictures shown on Yelp are old. The beds are new since the remodel & are extremely high off the floor!

Having stayed at the Geneva Inn before & looked forward to another stay. The rooms are updated & clean & if you can climb into a bed that is 3 feet high, you'll enjoy the hotel.

Since I was aware that their beds are extremely high off the floor, making them very difficult for people with a handicap to get on the bed, when I booked our hotel this time, I asked if the hotel had lower beds & I was told by Kelsie, the rooms on the 1st floor are lower. I called two additional times to be sure our reservation was for a room on the 1st floor with lower beds. When we arrived at 2 PM, we were asked to wait until check-in at 3 pm, so we waited in the lobby until then. Upon entering our room at 3 PM, we were astounded to see the beds were just as high as the beds we had in previous stays! When I called the front desk & asked why we were given a room with high beds, I was told all the beds are like that, despite being told in 3 previous phone calls the beds on the 1st floor were lower! I even asked if they had a step we could use to get on the bed & I was told no, despite a photo here on Yelp showing a step next to one of their beds.

There was no apology or suggestion from the hotel staff to help solve the problem. Since I've had both knees replaced & will face ankle surgery on both ankles, my only option was to sleep on a pullout couch with a thin mattress. I even had to make up the bed myself since no employee offered to do so for me. I eventually ended up sleeping on the room chair. Needless to say we checked out at 7:30 AM!

Worst hotel stay yet. I was shocked by how bad housekeeping was - dirty floors! Towels with stains! and the condition of the rooms - don't even get me started. All the mattresses are lumpy and need to be replaced. Finish the remodel. Even the air co wasn't working right - it left wet spots in the closet, right where our luggage was. Glad my suitcase was wet. Honestly, nothing good to say about this. Cheap-o coffee products. Keurigs were okay 20 years ago. If you're going to charge $500 (including tax), atleast put a Nespresso in the room. And a tea kettle. Get new towels. Replace the mattresses. Finish the bathroom remodels. Do all the modeling. Lindt chocolates don't cut it. Hire new staff that gives a s$it.

We're sorry to hear that your stay with us was unsatisfactory. Most of our guests love the comfort of our beds and compliment us on the cleanliness of our hotel. It appears that we missed the mark on your stay, and we will work vigorously to get to the bottom of your concerns.

This place looks nice on the website, but what a disappointment. Starting with the check-in, we were told if we damaged the room, we would need to pay for damages. WHAT! Do two 60- something's really look like the type of guests to destroy a room? Then, she told us if we left the patio screen door open, not to call the desk about bugs, because they can't do anything about it. We were treated as though we were teens checking into a youth hostel.

We have NEVER had such a poor hotel welcome.

The dinner was about as good as a microwaved Lean Cuisine, and it took forever considering only three other tables were occupied.

They need to update their website. When we were there in 2022, no breakfast was available, but clearly available on their website.

There was a very clear "I don't care" attitude from the employees.

Stay anywhere else in Lake Geneva. The bad attitude from staff was actually depressing.

Don't stay here unless they have fixed the ventillation system that is so loud you can't hear the TV, or hear what someone is saying. the noise is deafening!
When it did turn off, we smelled a musty smell. Very cold looking room, no pictures, no carpet, food on furniture, bed is so high I had to use step to get in, kitchen table was so low, seemed like it was meant for kids. For a high-priced suite, we were very disappointed.

My husband and I loved the Geneva Inn before Covid. It still retains a lot of its charm with a lovely setting steps away from the path around the lake, beautiful views from the patio, dining room, and lakefront rooms,a welcoming complimentary glass of champagne, and delicious dinners in the hotel restaurant. The rooms are clean and spacious and quite comfortable, but do book a lakefront room if you can afford the additional cost. We were disappointed that some corners seem to have been cut. There was no outdoor service on the patio , and the dining room wasn't open at all for breakfast. Also, one of the desk staff we interacted with was not terribly helpful. The Inn is about 2 miles from town which can provide a nice get away or be somewhat challenging. The hotel does not have a swimming pool, and it was very hot when we were there, and swimming was prohibited in the lake due to blue green algae.

The hotel is nice with lovely clean rooms overlooking the lake or parking lot depending on bed type. With the exception of housekeeping and the brunette woman on duty in the late afternoon at the front desk everyone else working there is full of attitude. Our party had two rooms and stayed for two nights. Because of the hotel being fully booked we had to change a room after the first night. So as to do so efficiently I stayed behind not joining the rest of our party in lakeside activities. The blond young lady on the front desk told me to pack up and that housekeeping would come to help me move. At 11:15 AM (fifteen minutes after actual checkout time) and without anyone from housekeeping showing up she called me and threatened to "fine" me if I wasn't out of the room in 15 minutes. Housekeeping then did come to help me move but not before. Also, both nights we were there we looked into making reservations in the restaurant. The impression I got is that they were doing us a huge favor to squeeze us in though they did so on the second night of our stay. The restaurant was nowhere near capacity, service was slow and there were major billing issues which got corrected before we left. The food and drinks however were excellent. Keep in mind that there is no room service or breakfast during the week
