At the resort now as I write this review. Frankly - I’m echoing some of the other reviews here. The service and hospitality and even ambience falls well below what one would expect for a $250+ per night in the off season. We live just an hour away and thought we would come and check it out - we wanted a reliable place to be able to do weekend getaways with family and friends visiting from out of town. Sadly - we will not be returning here anytime soon. Please also don’t get duped into paying the up charge for the “club.” Not a whole lot of options especially for vegetarians.

I was really excited about this hotel, but it was quite average and nothing special in my opinion. Service (except in the Geneva club) wasn’t what I expected for a hotel that charges over $250 a night in the slower season. The front desk handed us a key, with no directions on how to get to our room. The man who had our luggage said “okay I’ll just meet you in your room then” I had to tell him we had never been there and needed some directions. He pointed in the direction and told us to just keep walking and follow the signs. Our room was a good 10 minute walk from the lobby, and it’s really easy to get lost. It would have just been helpful for him to walk with us (and our luggage on the cart) to the room, especially since he wasn’t doing anything else except chatting with another worker. That’s what most nicer/full service hotels would do! The gym is really more like a commercial type fitness facility more than the spa type environment I expected. You have to leave the hotel and walk across the street in order to get to the gym and spa. The hotel was completely dead at night with no activities, live music, or really any sign of life. The bar was empty and the main restaurant was closed the night we stayed there. Not sure if I missed something, but I found it to be quite boring. Maybe I just have to give it another go in the summer? Here’s the shining star of my stay- The Geneva club (which is an add on which my husband and I found to be very valuable!) Scott, the attendant there in the evening, was really so kind and let me try a few different wines before I settled on a glass of really nice, high quality red wine. The evening appetizers were plentiful and delicious. In the morning, Margo helped us and she was so sweet, going out of her way to get us pastries, which were a nice addition to the breakfast spread. The Geneva club was a quiet, and beautiful space to relax. If I chose to return I’d only do so with that package and in the summer. Having been to Sundara, and the American Club, I much prefer those options for future visits to Wisconsin based on this experience.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and had an amazing time. We arrived at registration and were greeted by concierge, they checked us in and asked if we were celebrating anything. They gave us a free bottle of champagne. We upgraded to a Junior Suite a few days before checkin. When we arrived it was a beautiful room but as we inspected more we noticed a lot of things we didn’t like. There was quite a few stains on the floor, I stepped on an old French fry left there, the fireplace wasn’t working and the chrome was peeled off the fireplace door. We went to the front desk and talked to concierge and they upgraded us for the issues to a King Suite facing the lake. We just were hoping they would fix the fireplace to be honest. We purchased the celebration package and it came with some perks like $100 resort credit towards the spa, skiing or steakhouse. We also eat at the steakhouse. Husband and I both got a soup or salad, entree and shared a side, came out to $212 before the $100 off. But the food was amazing. We then had breakfast the next morning, limited breakfast menu in the off season. French toast was amazing. We never got to go swimming which is too bad since we would have had it to ourselves. It goes from 3 feet to 5.5 feet and has a separate hot tub with men and women’s changing rooms. There is an outdoor pool but not open of course and they have a separate 10,000 sq ft fitness center that has a lap pool.

Took my daughter skiing there over the weekend. We are both pretty novice skiers so we thought this would be the perfect place - and it was. I can't say enough nice things about the rental team, ski ticket team and lift operators. Everyone was so kind and professional. I even saw an employee giving lessons and help another skier out who had fallen - just very kind. Finished off at the Chalet bar with good food and service - bravo Grand Geneva - class act for an otherwise rather chaotic sports experience.

From the moment we walked through the front doors until the time we checked out, we were impressed with the friendly and helpful staff we encountered throughout. Our rooms were updated, very clean and comfortable. We spent some time in one of the igloos which was fantastic. The service and food were impeccable even though there was a blizzard happening outside. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and can’t wait to come back.

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience we had at the Grand Geneva Resort. Upon our arrival at the check in desk our first contact was Robert. He was so professional and courteous, I immediately felt that we were at a first class, 5 star property. The restaurants and facilities are superb. I needed some assistance from the concierge who was Jennifer K. and she took care of all my questions and I felt as if I was part of her family as if I was visiting her at her home. The room was spacious, spotless and well appointed. The attention to detail is magnificent. Upon our departure, Tim handled our account with flawless perfection. We had such great experiences with those exceptional people that we were sad to leave, but will return very soon to once again enjoy the wonderful hospitality and friendliness of the Grand Geneva Resort.

Stopped during Christmas season to enjoy a chai tea from the coffee shop off the lobby and to enjoy the amazing holiday decorations throughout the lobby and upper level. There also is a display of the gingerbread house contest entries...various age groups and skills. The top three winners receive cash prizes. The drive into the resort has many lighted displays including for the 12 Days of Christmas. All in all, it's well worth a stop during the holiday season.

We were totally blown away by the hotel! My kids gave me a gift certificate for my birthday at the Grand Geneva resort. The holiday decorations were amazing. Everywhere you looked was joyful! Places for children to write Santa and have pictures on snow chairs or gingerbread chairs. The lights and trees indoors and outside were so beautiful. We had a fabulous dinner at the Italian restaurant, Brissago. We shared an appetizer of truffle sachets. I had the Branzino and my husband had the Divers scallops on risotto. We’ve decided we will go there for special occasions. It was a very special overnight stay, and we will be back again!! It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday. Thanks to all the staff that helped make it memorable!!

Good place to visit and stay. We stayed in the main lodge with a view over the lake - 3 nights; great view. We tried 3 of the eating places and were happy. We hiked some easy trails both paved and unpaved; nice relaxing both in the woods and with good views. Had a fire in one of the outside fire pits. Room was sizable; yet only downside is that we didn't have a sheet - only a blanket. Food had good variety; will write separate reviews there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wide variety of activities such as swimming, disc golf, regular golf, playgrounds for kids, easy-ish hiking/biking trails. Very spacious; easy to relax in.
