We had a great 2 night stay. Our room was off the main Inn grounds three/ fourths mile on golf course. This is a newer building. It has a living room/ kitchenette with frig, microwave, toaster oven and plates and silverware. A fire place with a HD tv is above it. The bedroom has a king bed and another tv.... More

Madeline Island is the escape for mid-westerners equivalent to Cape Cod for north-easterners: Short summer season with rustic but expensive accommodations accessible by small airplane or 20 minute ferry ride from Bayfield, WI. Relaxing atmosphere, with great rustic areas to ride bikes, kayak, or watch the sunrise/sunset. The Inn is the premier lodging on the Island, and although a bit... More

A great hotel right on Lake Superior. Comfortable beds. Clean. Loved the fact there was more than 1 coffee packet--it's nice to be able to make more than 1 pot of coffee!! You can watch the sunsets on the pier right outside the hotel--gorgeous!

We had a fabulous meal here. My son had the mussels. He devoured them. The sauce was Delicious. We also had pizza which was fabulous, and the grilled romain salad with shrimp. Everything was fresh and excellent. We would totally go back. This was our first stop on our first trip to the island.

I think I should start reviewing this place now although I'm still scheduled to leave tomorrow, Friday, July 29! I arrived here on Sunday and was immediately impressed with the location. The veranda overlooks the bay and a few yards to the dock. Waking up in the morning and watching the sun goes down each day is simply amazing! The... More

We absolutely loved our stay at the Madeline Island Condominiums (part of the Inn on Madeline Island). Our 2-level condo with 2 bedrooms plus a roomy loft was perfect for the 7 people we had for our girls weekend. Breakfast and dinners on the deck, a great kitchen open to the living room so we could cook about 1/2 our... More

We rented 407 in the Lighthouse building I believe. It was pretty run down no microwave, no wifi and the bathroom was tiny with broken drawers and toilet paper holder. We saw our friends room at the front with Lake views, it was sooo much better! Probably a lot more $ but much nicer. We went the second weekend in... More

Hi Jen, I am so sorry you were unhappy with your room. The Lightkeeper's Lodge street side rooms do not offer microwaves. We looked but did not find the drawers and toilet paper holder to be broken. Perhaps they were repaired. Again, we apologize for their condition. Our street side rooms at the lodge have been very popular since being... More

I booked this hotel for family vacation (3 bedroom/ 3 bath) cottage unit on their online reservation site for 3 nights in a weekend in August2016. Booking went fine and I got confirmation #. Next day I received a phone call from their staff telling me that they are going to cancel my reservation saying that they don't allow less... More

Dear Miland S, I am so sorry for your frustration. The private homes we manage have different minimum night stays throughout the season and our on-line reservation system does not allow it to vary. Therefore when we receive a reservation, generally the next day, and we see that the minimum night stay is incorrect we call immediately to let renter... More

My husband and I have been to Bayfield Wisconsin on several occasions but have never taken the time to visit the island. To take advantage of an off-season special, I booked two nights in The Lightkeepers Lodge at The Inn on Madeline Island during the first week in June. We got extremely lucky with the weather. It was clear and... More

We just stayed 2 nights in the 506A condo. It was OK......not great- not horrible. We pretty much had the place to our self since it was not high season. We got a great rate. The place needs some serious fixing up and modernizing. There appeared to have been prior water damage that was never properly fixed. There were several... More
