From the moment we got out of our vehicle we were pampered! Kelsey helped out with flowers and John was always there to take care of us! The spa facilities and services made it a perfect couple’s getaway!
Everyone wore masks and it was enforced. Thank you American Club!! We had room 136, which was a great location, close to everything. It wasn't the largest room, but it had everything we needed....desk, nightstands, very comfortable king bed, fantastic linens, great pillows, refrigerator, several chairs, closet, fantastic shower, nice toiletries, make-up mirror, great lights in the bedroom, a place for my luggage and my husbands and the room was very clean. Lighting in bathroom not so good. Couldn't even apply make-up. What man designed these lights!! We really appreciated that there were stickers on the front door saying that the room had been cleaned and no one had been in since. There were also these stickers on the remote, frig door and various places.
My husband and I just stayed here for our third wedding anniversary and were disappointed. We had really been looking forward to our stay after reading all the rave reviews and hearing that the American Club is a five star five diamond resort. Our disappointment started before our trip. We had some questions about the rooms available so we tried calling the reservations number. There was a message stating that call volumes were higher than usual and there may be a wait. The first time I called I was on hold for about thirty minutes. I pressed pound which was the option to leave a message and get a call back as soon as a representative was free. After not receiving a call in twenty four hours I tried calling again the next day. Again the same thing happened and I was on hold for an extended period. I gave up calling after this and we eventually we decided to book our room online. We booked the heritage room. Check in time at the American Club is 4pm which is pretty late when you pay a premium and would like time to enjoy your room. I told the woman checking us in that we were celebrating our anniversary weekend and asked if there were any upgrades. She gave no acknowledgment of the fact that it was our anniversary and just stated that unfortunately they would not be able to upgrade us however our room was going to be very nice. She proceeded to give us directions to our room by pointing at the stairs behind us. We had about four different bags between us which made climbing stairs difficult and she never asked if we needed help with our luggage. We asked concierge if there was another way to get there, she directed us to an elevator and told us to go to the third floor. These directions were incorrect and we got lost until we finally found another employee who was able to direct us in the right direction. Our room itself was nice but a very closed floor plan and somewhat dated. The iPad in our room wasn’t working and didn’t even have our name on it when we arrived. One of the chairs broke in our room while my husband was sitting on it. The tv in the bedroom is off to the side of the bed which makes it difficult to watch. We explored the grounds a bit which are nice. Lots of gardens and sitting areas. I will say at check in we were not given a map or told of the different things to see or do on the grounds. We were told there was tea and coffee in the greenhouse which sounded like there was a setup of some sort for guests but it ended up that there was just a cafe there. Turn down service did not include any refills on our bottled waters. We ordered room service for dinner which was mediocre at best. My husband and I love to travel and have stayed at multiple five diamond resorts. What has really set them apart has been a true attention to detail, fantastic service and a way of making their guests feel important and special. I did not feel any of these things at the American Club which is sad because we chose a special occasion of ours to celebrate there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my family or friends. …
A beautiful place to stay, relax and get pampered all at the same time. We ate at the Whistling Straits Restaurant , Taverne on Woodlake, The Greenhouse, and Kohler Waters Spa Cafe, all were excellent. The Ryder Cup is going to be played here for good reason. My wife and I each had two spa treatments and they were absolutly wonderful. The spa had fanatic facilities as well (Steam Room, Sauna, Whirlpool Cold Emergence poo and a regular pool) and we used them too.
I had the best experience with Cherie Le Jeune, concierge at The American Club. It was hands down the best customer service I’ve experienced and I was very impressed by how she went above and beyond to accommodate us. Wonderful demeanor and absolutely lovely!!! Thank you!
