This is a very nice RV park. Our site was level, and we had a nice area next to our RV with a picnic table and firepit. The bathrooms were close-by and clean, and the chapel was a beautiful asset to the area. This was our first time taking our new RV to a campsite and while camping we talked to so many nice people who gave us great tips and ideas of where to go. So far this is the friendliest park we have visited.
Very nice RV park, beautiful farm scenery! Quiet, very nice hosts. Will definitely come back. Everything was well maintained. Pretty chapel and grounds. It is very close to Dubuque and there is a lot to do there. Good restaurants near the Mississippi River.
We have visited a lot of campsites around the country, and Rustic Barn is one of our faves! When we found out there were new owners we were a bit concerned, but not to worry! The new owners have maintained the high quality of this great RV destination. They have super clean bathrooms and laundry room and the office staff are very friendly and helpful! Also, we work from the road and the wifi is really fast. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay!
Love the campground and the owners are great people. If your looking for a quiet place this is it. Beautiful area and great for utv and biking or Motorcycles . The site had great views. The owners were very helpful in all respects. We’d return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend. Great local food
I never write reviews because I believe everyone can have a bad day and everyone’s experience is different. But I am having a hard time even putting this experience into words. We have been going to Rustic Barn for years. It’s is a very nice small campground. The previous owners were wonderful! Unfortunately, new owners took over recently. We were busy during this stay so we were not at the campground much. One night while we were sitting by the campfire, the owner brought us some wood we ordered. He threw it on the ground and said the speed limit here is 5mph. Like I said, we’ve been coming for years, love it, and have ALWAYS respected the rules of the campground. My husband said, was I speeding? The owner became even more ignorant threw his hands up and yelled the speed limit is 5mph. Period! And walked off. We were appalled. Couldn’t believe how he could talk to a guest like this who hasn’t even done anything wrong. The next morning as we checked out, my husband decided to talk with them about this. This time a different owner was working and she became just as rude with my husband. My jaw just dropped. This disappoints me! We love it there but I will not support a business where the customer is treated so poorly for absolutely no reason.…
We came in our motor coach & found this campground to be such a nice place . It was kept impeccably clean and tide. Our site had great views. The owners were very helpful in all respects. We’d return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
Rustic Barn's new owners Kathy and Laura are friendly, kind and helpful (along with Bruce and Arlene), and provide the highest level of hospitality. Spotless, level, quiet camp sites. The same cleanliness for the laundromat, showers and bathrooms.. Beautiful and huge grassy meadows with trees to walk your dogs. The breathtaking views are a bonus. We, along with our yellow labs, Nugget and Noodle give 5+ stars!!
What an awesome place. The owners are very personable and helpful. You could tell they love and are excited about their campground and the area. The grounds are impeccable green lush. The little chapel!! The spots may be a little tight but everything else makes up for it!!! Definitely would return if in the area.
Enjoyed our long weekend camping trip at this campground. The folks who greet you and take you to your site are very friendly. We had a 50 amp pull thru “ buddy” spot. Used an adapter since we are a 30 amp Airstream. These sites are big rig friendly. I saw more than 1 motor home with a vehicle attached use these sites without detachment of their tote. The sites are level, the park roads are wide and well maintained. The location is great for a visit to the historic Galena, IL. There are beautiful hybrid willow trees around the edges of the park. The sunset is spectacular over the large grass space I used to walk our dogs. The gps is used could not adjust quick enough and we missed our turn to campground. They have little blue camper signs attached to city sign posts. We turned right after going under highway and first road to left is your turn. Highly recommend this campground.…
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners became friends first thing. Each spot is manicured. Spots are little close, but didn't bother us. A farm down the hill made for a beautiful background for a beautiful sunset. Definitely book your spot here and you won't be sorry!
