My wife and I stayed there while we visited the Horicon Marsh and biked the Wild Goose Trail. My wife is gluten free and Kristen made sure that she had a wonderful gluten free breakfast each morning. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We walked the neighborhood each evening and enjoyed the different pace of life in Horicon. Even the train horn off in the distance each morning was relaxing - a reminder that we were someplace restful. We sat on the balcony each evening and read, when it got dark I sat in one of the downstairs rooms to continue my reading. The air tub was rejuvenating after the bike rides and the shower was great - plenty of hot water! Perhaps the only drawback was that we started our stay on a Monday and dining options Monday night were scarce - but that's out of the control of the B&B.

Thank you so much. Yes, you are right about Monday being a night that many restaurants choose to not open. Though, one of my favorites, Don Ramones, really good Mexican food , is open. Plus they make GREAT margaritas. YUM !! It was wonderful to talk with you both and get to know you a bit. I do hope to see you again. January is a great month for Hike the Marsh by Candlelight Walk. Email below for more information for 2021. Elizabeth.Herzmann@Wisconsin.gov. . Cheers Friends Kristen 🐝

My husband and I loved our 2-night stay with Kristen. The room and house are beautifully decorated for the period. Easy check in process and Kristen met us and gave us a tour and door code.
Coffee, tea, water and an ice machine are available in the common area.. A small refrigerator is available for leftovers or keep you beverages cold. Kristen pays attention to detail and made us feel very comfortable. She even lent us a pair of binoculars for birding.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious! This is a generously portioned hot breakfast with eggs, meat, fruit parfait , juice coffee/tea. This was totally different breakfast each day. The lodging is just minutes from Horicon Marsh area. Local restaurants/bars we ate were Rock River Tap for an awesome Perch and Walleye Fry and Wisco for a delicious Filet.
Nita, a local massage therapist performed a wonderful massage onsite in the massage room. This is street parking.
We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

The beautiful 1902 immaculate mansion allows you to leave the current world at the door. Your stay is as private or social as you desire. Breakfast is outstanding and served by the owner who has carefully prepared it and is served on vintage china. We stayed in the smallest room and found it to be very roomy. The electric fireplace with forced hot air was a nice addition. The social areas on the first floor are comfortably finished and the décor is beautiful. It's like stepping back in time. The Horicon Marsh area is a 33,000 acre wildlife refuge. There are several communities around the Marsh that offer their own personalities. We were able to walk from the Inn into town for dinner and enjoyed the mature trees and well kept lawns along the way. There are so many activities available including: hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, or touring the area by vehicle One could also just relax in the well stocked library at the Inn. We will return.

We've stayed at 50 B&Bs but this was our first in 18 months due to the pandemic. We were given a warm Wisconsin welcome by Kristen at the start of our three-day stay. She has documented the interesting history of this stately house. And as they say, "they don't build them like this anymore." That's true of the brickwork, woodwork, and stained glass in this remarkable house. It's well cared for inside and out and tastefully decorated with many of Kristen's personal and family art objects. The library is lined with books and there are inviting spots for reading and relaxing throughout; the enclosed front porch with wicker furniture, the large living room, and the cozy library. Kristen made sure we enjoyed our stay; with little touches throughout, she seemed to have anticipated our every need. Her recommendations allowed us us to see a sunset over Horicon Marsh the first night and a spectacular sunset over Sinissippi Lake at the pub there. Breakfasts were delicious, the bed was comfortable, and the linens were luxurious. This was the restful getaway we wanted.

Kristen did such a great job of making sure we had everything we needed prior to our trip. I am gluten-free and a vegetarian, which is not easy to cook for, and Kristen prepared a wonderful breakfast for everyone with a gluten-free and vegetarian selection for myself. She also had a pot of coffee brewing until 4:00pm by request and served a wonderful cherry pie on Saturday night for dessert. Upon arrival, there was always fresh water and chocolate chip cookies (which were a hit). The rooms were beautiful, and the mattresses were all very comfortable. We rented out the entire B&B for our annual girl's weekend so we had access to the comfortable main sitting area, dining room, and all of the beautiful bedrooms. This is a wonderful B&B with a fantastic host. I highly recommend.

We booked the Honey Pot Cottage room at the last minute due to a change of plans. We started out as disappointed that our plans had changed but ended up happy that they did! We added the cheese tray, the picnic lunch and 2 mugs and they were all perfect additions and the quality was beyond expectations. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed itself incredibly soft and comfortable. The entire B&B is lovely. Kristen is always concerned with her guests being safe, comfortable, and having everything they need. She has lots of great suggestions for things to do and see. (Ask her about the sunset spot). The food is exceptional-fresh, delicious and perfectly portioned. We definitely recommend spending time here and hope to visit again in the future.

Our host, and owner of The Honeybee Inn Kristen, was fabulous. I visited a few weeks before our stay to make plans for a surprise engagement. Kristen helped me make plans to ask my girlfriend to marry me during our breakfast. She helped me meet and hire a photographer where the three of us planned for this special day. Upon arrival and check in she made it easy to get settled in after a tour of the historic and beautiful home. Soothing music playing, flowers, wine and other treats awaited us as I purchased the romantic package.

After getting set up we had time to go to the hawk on March scenic overlook to the small town of horcon stop for dinner and ice cream. We got back for the night and had a wonderful warming fire outside to start out our Labor Day weekend. Kristen had everything set up so we could enjoy a special night sitting by the fire.

Kristen helped me plan to have my custom playlist of my girlfriends favorite songs while she made a delicious breakfast with the photographer was waiting in the piano room.

Then the moment came when I got down on one knee and asked Susan to marry me.

Kristen made sure it all came together for the most special day of our lives so far.

The Honeybee Inn is fabulous old charm with new amenities. Alexa in the room, and all the towels supplies nicer than a 4 star hotel. Susan made use of the large soothing bathtub with jets that circulated the provided lavender bath bombs.

Although The Honeybee Inn is off of Highway 33, it was quiet and we got a comfortable night sleep in the large bed with the nicest sheets and comforter.

Thr Honeybee Inn is within 5 minutes of the Horicon Marsh scenic overlook and we used the electric bicycles on our tour of the marsh.

It was a nice time of the year to go and Kristen had beautifully decorated for the fall season. It was a very nice weekend in a beautiful charming home with a caring owner who made sure we had everything just right.

We plan to stay again at different times of year, possibly every year.

Oh My Charles !! Thank you. My photographer friend, Joshlyn , and I talk about that special morning often. To all reading, when Chuck got on his knee to ask Susan to marry him, I cried.🥲❤️ It was soooo endearing. My heart just melted when she said yes. I will never forget you both and look forward to seeing again. With big hugs and love. Kristen 🐝

I booked two rooms - for my husband and myself and some very dear friends. I don't even know what to say about Kristen, our hostess. She left no detail unattended, She was amazing from greeting us personally to cooking our delicious breakfast. The home is a masterpiece, the rooms gorgeous and peaceful, the porches and gardens are charming. To say I was satisfied and impressed would be an understatement. We felt genuinely cared for. I would confidently recommend this establishment to even the most particular. I forgot to mention - SPARKLING clean everywhere!

A much needed break for us caregivers and Kristen was amazing. She’s an amazing cook and pampered us like royalty. Her attention to all the little details did not go unnoticed. And she has so many plans for the future. She was also great with spacing breakfast during Covid and we rarely saw other guests. A quick trip away and we came home refreshed. This place is a hidden gem in a sweet little town. And don’t miss the ice cream shop just a block away!

For our 25th Wedding Anniversary we were looking for something really special...

The Honeybee Inn is a destination unto itself. It is just a few blocks from the largest freshwater cattail marsh in North America. Eleven thousand acres of natural beauty are waiting to be explored (we did kayaks). Dining options in the area are mostly in the vein of Wisconsin supper clubs. There is a quaint walk up ice cream stand right around the corner too.

Right in heart of all this nature and small town Wisconsin tradition sits the stately, but never stuffy Victorian manor that is the Honeybee Inn.

Our room and the entire inn were impeccably maintained. Everything was spotless. All the amenities were modern and up to date. The furnishings and decor were appropriate to the style and history of the property, but all updated for extra comfort. It was the perfect blend of tradition, comfort, and charm.

Kristen was a wonderful hostess, always ready to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Breakfast was delicious too.

Located in Horicon, the drive from Milwaukee, Madison, or the Fox Valley is short enough to be convenient and long enough to feel like you are leaving the larger cities behind.

If you love nature and the experience of small town Wisconsin, you would be hard pressed to find a better destination than the Honeybee Inn in Horicon.
