The female employee at the check-in was very pleasant and funny. We liked that she was interested in having a nice chat with us. Moreover, she recommended different restaurants for dining. The room was clean and a usual room for this price range. No problems at our one-night-stop in Holmen.
I had to write this review after seeing what Joplin Mo wrote. This place is a beautifully well kept friendly locally owned hotel. My towels, pillows and room were great. I mean its only 60 a night. The grass and flowers were well groomed. Definitely a safe, well maintained and friendly place to stay!
It's apparent the owner isn't putting any money back into the motel. Frayed towels, one soap to be shared between sink and shower. Landscaping is mostly weeds, grass not cut. Breakfast is 95% empty carbs. Box sheet didn't fit mattress so by morning it had popped off mattress. Pillows are paper thin.
I stayed at the Prairie Inn & Suites when I had a three-day visit for my friends’ wedding. It is a nice little family-owned business. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and the price overall wasn’t too bad, especially considering it was graduation weekend. There was lots of parking spaces and the inn is conveniently located near a McDonald’s and a gas station. There was also free breakfast, which is the only thing I have a small gripe about. There were some options, but there wasn’t more warm food for me. They offered premade pancakes, toast, fruit, instant oatmeal, and cereal. There was coffee, tea, and orange juice. Overall, I had a very nice stay.
We stayed at the Prairie Inn for 3 nights. We found it to be a good hotel for the price. It was a large comfortable room, which was what we needed. It was clean and while not without some sign of wear, overall there was little to complain about. The bed had good support and we rested very well (which is not always the case even in the next price range hotels). The only negative I had was the waterproof bed pad that covered the mattress, it slipped some and made the sheets wrinkle. For the location, price, and our particular purpose for being in the area, this was not a big problem. The in house breakfast was a little lacking but since we are on a specialized diet we usually take our own anyway and this was not a major problem for us. If you can live with the standard toast or cereal breakfast, this will not be a problem for you either. We had little problem with noise, there was some but again, overall this was not a big problem. We found this hotel to be very comfortable and welcoming. We did not feel awkward wandering down to the front lounge to watch TV while one member of our party was taking a nap. The staff behind the desk and the cleaning crew were all very friendly and respectful.…
