We just left the Deerfoot and I wanted to write this before I forgot. First off the resort itself is very nice, small, well maintained and the staff was very friendly. We stayed for 3 nights in the lodge room D. The room was a pretty good size, clean and well kept. However the beds were absolutely horrible!! So much so that we considered going to Hayward to buy some sort of topper to put on the bed. I can sleep pretty much anywhere, but these beds were extra extra firm. My back hurts after 3 nights. I’m not sure if the cabins are the same, so I can’t speak to that. The bar itself is small, but they have a nice selection of bar food and a handful of specialty drinks.
Deerfoot Resort has excellent greenspace surrounding the comfortable family cabin accommodations. The atmosphere of the Northwoods is right at hand to enjoy for everyone whether it is skiing, fishing, boating or sightseeing! An ideal location for a family vacation.
Last minute I decided to return to the Big chip and stayed at the Deerfoot Lodge. I talked with Nathan & Amanda on the phone and they booked cabin 7 during the beginning of October. My friend and myself had a great time while staying there. The resort bar was like always very nice with great food and drink. Bartender's are always friendly and helpful when asked :) That week it rained every day but it is not always about the fishing and still had a blast meeting friends. Thank you ! Mark S
This was a perfect family getaway. We were lucky enough to get in to a cabin that had a cancellation- and couldn’t have gotten a better surprise! The cabins are awesome, well furnished with furniture, kitchen supplies, etc. We stayed for a week with our family of 4. We immediately felt welcome and right at home. The staff was beyond incredible! Always there to help in any way possible, and give you pointers or help with navigating the flowage. My son had an especially good time. One of the bartenders made him his own special drink every time we walked in. They went out of their way to make my chdad listen feel special and welcomed- not ignored because they were little. Boating, fishing, and swimming were enjoyed all week! The other guests were friendly as well. It was easy to tell everyone felt like one extended “Deerfoot Family”. While fishing, another fisherman showed my so. (6 yrs old) how an eagle would come down from the trees to eat a fish that he put back in the water. An incredible sight that my son will always remember. Speaking of the animals, the wildlife is beyond beautiful with gorgeous scenery that makes it the perfect getaway for our family. My kids aren’t addicted to technology by any means, however, they did not once ask where the iPad was or to turn on the tv... we were too busy enjoying the world around us and spending time as a family. When it came time to leave, my children both cried because they didn’t want to leave- so- we ended coming back a second time 5 weeks later to stay in a cabin again!! This time we asked my parents to join us and they quickly fell in love as we did with the resort :) Deerfoot has quickly become our home away from home. We can’t wait to return. We are trying to plan a stay with my family, parents and my brother’s family next summer! Any time of year would be a great time to stay!! You will not be disappointed!! We ❤️ Deerfoot!!…
Second time at Deerfoot and maybe better than the first. Finally met Amanda and Nathan, (wild shirt kinda guy) . Thanks Amanda for bottom floor, BIG difference!! Casey always at your service, Brian cleared away the brush in front of H for a marvelous view of the chip. Corey for always being so bubbly. And your housekeeping staff outstanding!! Because we work at a resort we know what usually gets overlooked, but your staff doesn’t miss a thing. Hats off to you all. Rebooked for next year and it can’t come soon enough. Thanks again!
