Was disappointed when making fall reservations - favorite campground in park, Welckers, is now closed after Labor Day. But our waterside site in Nicolet(sp?) Bay was great! large, secluded, and would have been perfect if the crowd in neighboring site would have been less obnoxious. One negative: rangers/hosts/whoever should monitor rules: next site had 3 cars, 1 motorcycle, 3 tents... More

This was my first ever camping and the place is really good and organized. There are many camping spots and one can experience camping, hiking, cycling, kayaking etc; Had a great time over the weekend we had visited! Would love to visit this place again for a longer duration. Please note that this is not a hotel, but just a plain,... More

We enjoyed camping at North Nicolet Bay campgrounds. The sites are relatively spacious (some better than others) and fairly spaced out. All are covered by trees, which is nice, except when it rains (which it always does). The ground was therefore dirt, so you got very muddy in the rain and when it was dry, it seemed like everything was... More

Stayed over Columbus Day weekend. The sites are enormous and well-spaced for privacy, and close to plenty of beautiful vistas and natural areas. There are also plenty of places to get water nearby as well as lots of bathrooms. The bathrooms, however, are not very clean. In fact, they are disgusting and just kept getting worse as the weekend went... More

This is THE best place for camping in door county, especially without an RV. But it's not a secret, so expect a lot of people. Very centrally located in door county as well. We tent camped with two kids under 10. We stayed two nights in south Nicolet bay and two more at Tennison. It was July and averaged in... More

State park camping has always been our favorite choice. This park is higher on my list of rankings because of the many options for activities within the park. Great bike trails, hiking trails, swimming, fishing, boating, golf, tennis, sightseeing, snacks, etc... We spent the first 1 1/2 days just in the park and returned twice after we had eft to... More

We stayed in a tent and we were very pleased with our stay. The campground was very quiet and overall very clean. The bathroom facilities were acceptable for being at a campground and actually had hot showers! We stayed in the Tennison Bay grounds and were near a kayak canoe launch. I would suggest buying firewood in town before entering... More

We stayed here 2 nights in tents. As soon as we pulled into the park, the views were amazing. The staff at the check-in station were very friendly and informative as this was my first time at the park. As we setup camp on the Welckers Sites, we quickly had to find our OFF and turn on our Therma-Cells to... More
