Travelers' Choice
Surrounded by small towns, beaches, state parks, cherry orchards, wineries, lighthouses and art galleries, the Somerset Inn & Suites is close to all the things that bring tourists to Wisconsin's Door County, a "quaintly all-American vacation" destination (Wall Street Journal). The Somerset Inn & Suites is a small, 38-room inn in Ephraim, a town that's "a picture of perfection" (Travel +Leisure). The inn sits on five acres of woodlands just minutes from the waterfront, and room types range from double queen rooms up to suites with fireplaces and whirlpools. Somerset Inn and Suites has 38 rooms and suites set on five acres of woods on the north end of Ephraim, right in the heart of Door County. Our goal is to provide you with a room that is clean and comfortable, with friendly attentive service at a value conscious price.

This was a nice location without breaking the bank. Rooms were clean and roomy. Beds were comfortable as were the pillows. There is no breakfast here but a wonderful place just north to enjoy. Indoor pool and whirlpool were a bonus!! There is also an outdoor pool that closes after Labor Day. If you are so inclined there are grills at the hotel as well to use. Fully stocked kitchenette as well.

We stayed for a second time at this resort. Some of my favorite things here are Angie, the owner... she is constantly cleaning and her flowers. They are fantastic. Plants EVERYWHERE, grounds are immaculate! We got a deluxe suite which has a small bedroom and a kitchenette. It is nice to bring some breakfast items, and snacks. Coffee and tea is free in lobby. You can buy ice cream, chips, beer, soda... too. The pools and hot tub were very clean. We enjoyed them a lot. Not a lot to do in this Covid era. So we shopped wearing masks and then cooled off. Of course, there are nice places to eat and the sunsets are beautiful. We will return a third time.

We’re not sure how this property had a high rating because when we got to our room we were very disappointed. The room was old, dated, & worn. Not sure what the rating was based on. We use Trip Advisor in making our decisions for rooms & restaurants, but this was very disappointing. Won’t be going back to this property.

Dear MichiganLady50, Our goal is to provide you with a room that is clean and comfortable, with friendly attentive service at a value conscious price. I'm sorry to hear we didn't meet your expectations. As a family owned and operated inn, we are continuously working on improving our property. Each off season, we work on updating a handful of rooms along with other projects and improvements. It's very important to us to show transparency through our website with our pictures and descriptions. We believe we do this well and that is why we receive such high ratings from our new and return guests.

We stumbled across the Somerset while looking elsewhere, which ended up being sold out. Thankfully it was, as it afforded us a delightful time in a place we may have overlooked in all our Door County adventures. We did upgrade to the Luxury Suite and so enjoyed our stay there. Very clean (I am a nit noid on that and check all the corners!) and cozy. Thank you, Angela, for your hospitable service!

We chose this hotel since we were traveling with our four-legged companion, a 40# golden doodle. This hotel is just outside of Ephraim (north) and has an outdoor pool, kids play area and a rather large indoor pool with a hot tub. The hotel is a bit dated and could use a fresh coat of paint, but otherwise is a good hotel if you have a dog or young children. It has a no smoking policy but we did notice smoke odor in our room, perhaps a guest below us was smoking on their veranda and made its way into our room. There is a nice little restaurant within walking distance (Summer Kitchen) that is very convenient for breakfast or lunch. It is just several hundred feet north of the hotel, although there is no sidewalk.
