This was our first hotel stay after we arrived in Costa Rica, we spent three nights at the hotel. The first room we stayed in was a very basic room, nothing fancy, but adequate. However, we discovered the next morning that we had no hot water. The hot water heater for the room had broke so we were moved to...

This was one of our favorite places. Room was clean and comfortable, meals (included) were served buffet style, delicious...unlimited beverages. Not near a beach but we did not miss it. Grounds were beautifully kept, two small pools. Wonderful trails which crossed and recrossed a small river, made for a nice walk. Lots of birds and iguanas. Carla at reception was...

The room, 215, was large & clean but lacked any space for hanging clothes, room was basic but adequate. Shower water was hot with good quantity of water. Breakfast adequate, little selection, small hot section & then cold meats/ fruits. Evening food excellent, very good selection buffet, & good quality Grounds of the hotel are very good for attracting wildlife....

The grounds of the hotel were idyllic. There was a lovely river running through the property and we saw numerous birds. There was a resident iguana near the restaurant. The cabins were basic but comfortable but not suitable for anyone who doesn't like sharing their room with creepy crawlies!

A group of 10 birders stayed here 2 nights. We were over the bridge in an area by a charming church which is a site for weddings with a gazebo centrally located in that area. Great birds, numerous iguanas and lizards and leaf cutter ants. Buffet meals that were very good. Very friendly staff. Bar including juices open long hours....

We stayed four nights in this nature lovers idyllic location, with the Tarcoles river running through its extensive grounds and wildlife in abundance I was captivated. This 280 hectare reserve has pools large and small, the 56 guest rooms are bungalow style and are scattered around the grounds with air conditioning, complimentary safe and en-suite shower. The food was buffet...

Stayed here as part of a touring holiday for a few days. Wonderful location for watching wildlife. Have a drink by the river and the birds come to you. Staff are very friendly, food is good and rooms are clean but basic. This is a hotel for nature lovers with lots of places to see bird life close by. Pity...

We spent 4 nights at the rain-forest resort of Villa Lapas, the second part of our 2 week holiday in Costa Rica. The hotel is set in lush extensive gardens with 2 bars/lounges, and only a short drive from the Pacific coast. A small river runs within/adjacent to the complex, and also divides the accommodation at the hotel, with a...

We were fortunate to be given room 300, which is a suite - their only suite. We went inside and were amazed. It was a room that was so much more than we were expecting. Beautiful, clean, spacious -- it looked more like a home. It was its own building, next to the consecrated church (which is incredible). We saw...
