I always get a bit nervous when I read reviews that are so positive, but I can say that this is one of the nicest, and most clean campgrounds that we have ever stayed at. We tent camped at site 430 which was close to the shower house. My first observation was that they had actually raked the campsite clean, and it was level. The office Ladies were very helpful and had GREAT attitudes. The location is literally minutes from all of the upper Door County towns and sites. Quiet hours were actually enforced, and the flowers and landscaping were an added treat. We are already making plans to return next summer. We don't usually spend $48.00 on a tent site but it was worth it for the convenience of water and electricity and the other amenities that they offered.

Spent a week at Wagon Trail with my family and really enjoyed our stay. Our site, 503, was well maintained, flat, wooded, and fit our 27’ travel trailer nicely. You could tell they racked the gravel before we checked in and I noticed the groundskeeper working hard all week keeping each site in wonderful condition after campers checked out. The site was just down the hill from the office and was located right next to the trail that led to the lake and to Rowley’s Bay Resort. The campground is well taken care of. The staff was very kind and asked all guests what they were looking to do in Door County at check-in and provided suggestions accordingly. There is a lovely store in the office, a game room, laundry facilities, a playground, and extremely nice bathrooms and showers. They also have sinks and drying racks outside the bathrooms to wash your dishes. I thought it was a nice touch to have dog waste bags and receptacles throughout the park as well and cans for garbage and recyclables throughout. All sites are on wooded with gravel pads and provide decent privacy (you can still see your neighbors through the trees). There are some open green space areas near the office with beautiful flower beds and park with benches to relax in. The campground was very quiet, which is perfect for those looking to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. While it is off the beaten path, it was about a 5 min drive to Ellison Bay and a 10 minute drive to Sister Bay. So much to do in the nearby charming lakeside villages and then nice to come back to the quiet woods. If you are looking to go out and find food in the nearby villages, we recommend White Gull Inn in Fish Creek for breakfast, Wilson’s Restaurant and Ice Cream parlor in Ephraim, and Wild Tomato Pizza in Sister Bay. There is a pizza place that delivers to the campsite which is a nice option but we did not try it. One thing to note is that the line for the dump station was very long at our departure since there is only one available. We opted to drive to Peninsula State Park to dump as they have an impressive 4 lanes in their dump station.

The Wagon Trail Campground made our week in Door County extra special! It is truly deserving of the great reviews on TA. The campground is well laid out, and our site (518)) was well wooded, spacious, and close to the restroom. The restroom/showers are the best I’ve seen in a campground - immaculate, air conditioned, well lit, and have four mirrors with shelves separate from the sinks which is great for drying hair, etc.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to come a day early, and Kathy was able to get us in the same site as our original reservation. The office, store, and lounge are clean and well arranged, and the firewood comes with a starter and kindling which is very helpful. Even though the campground is at the upper part of the peninsula, it is an easy drive to anywhere you want to go. Wagon Trail Campground is a fantastic place to be!

We have enjoyed this campground every year since 2012, and sometimes come twice a year. The campground has beautiful grounds with gorgeous plantings and a nice playground for the kids. Every site is well maintained and prepared for the next visitor with consistent attention to detail: raked gravel walkways, clean fire pits, no stray garbage lying around. The yurts are always clean, with no evidence of insects, cobwebs, dust, or overused furniture. In fact, nothing in the campground is broken down or tattered looking. As so many have stated, the bathrooms are clean and spacious, and well stocked. There are no corners cut. The owners of this campground take great pride in offering a great camping experience. Friendly staff and happy campers make this a peaceful and enjoyable place to stay.

We have had the good fortune to stay at the Wagon Trail Campground twice in as many years, and excited to say we are returning again (probably 2x) this year! This is by far the cleanest, best run private campground at which we have ever stayed! The owners, Kathy & Tim, couldn't be nicer, and the kindness of the staff speaks to that! The office staff has been very accommodating when booking reservations, and all those we have encountered during our stays have been so helpful, even with recommendations for dining/activity suggestions. The bathrooms/showers are Always clean & stocked. As if all Door County offers wasn't enough of a reason to travel to this area, WTC makes it top notch! Can't wait to stay here again!

When our travel plans on our August 2020 RV trip changed suddenly and we found ourselves with 2 days with no plans, we stumbled on Door County and Wagon Trail Campground. Lucky for us! Called and got reservations for 2 days. Nicole, who made the res, told us that we would have to move to another site on the 2nd day and she was genuinely apologetic but we knew we were coming on short notice and that was just fine! Our first site, #214, a pull thru, was on the entrance road but TOTALLY hidden from view and we felt very secluded. We were traveling with our dog and as we walked around, I couldn’t believe how many other people were tucked away in very cool, secluded sites! Was hard to believe the park is so large, you just DON’T see people :). On check in, the ladies were so kind recommending places for us to see! We had our motorcycles with us and they gave us suggested routes to make the most of our visit. It was time to catch up on laundry and the facility was tight, but super clean!!! The 2nd nite we were in site #408. It was a back in, but even with the motorcycle trailer, we fit just fine. Again, surrounded by trees and very peaceful and quiet. It was the first time we had been bothered by “skeeters” so when i was at the park store, I asked what they had and was directed to a bug spray with lemongrass extract. It was NOT expensive and worked like a dream! The entire stay at Wagon Trail was very enjoyable, Door County is amazing, I broke the bank buying “everything cherries” and truly hope our travels take us back there again! We will FOR SURE stay at Wagon Trail Campground!!

We are very new campers and this was the perfect place to fall in love with camping! That said, I met a few people who have been coming to Wagon Trail for many years!

Staff was incredibly friendly, bathrooms were incredibly clean (showers had good pressure also!), the campsite was clean and the quiet hours are observed. We tent camped and did not opt for a site w water or electric and that was fine for our three nights. We used outlets in the lounge to charge our phones. The store is well stocked with things we might have forgotten or not known we needed! They also have games to lend out. There is a nice playground for kids also.

The site had a fire pit and a grill on the fire pit. Firewood is readily available to purchase at the on site store (with free kindling!), at Piggly Wiggly or roadside.

Already looking at dates did next year!

This campground is fantastic. Staff was amazing and friendly. Helpful with all our needs. Very wooded. Quiet peaceful evenings. Large gravel sites. Plenty of room between neighbors. Shower houses spotless and new. Plenty of hot water. Doggie waste receptacles all around to keep pets taken care of. No wonder people book a year in advance. We'll stay here again.

Nice location, great staff and store in the campground. We had very easy walking / biking access from our campsite to the Marina. We did not have a tow vehicle so having easy walking access to Lake Michigan was very important to us. The landscaping and flowers everywhere made this the most beautiful campsite on our 5 state Great Lakes tour. BTW, the shower facilities were the best on our whole trip.

It was our first family camping trip. We brought the whole family including the dog. They made us feel very welcome. The staff was friendly, helpful, welcoming and provided us with great suggestions for things to do and see in the area. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the grounds, bathrooms, laundry facilities, and showers. The camp store on property had everything we needed that we had forgotten since it was our first trip in the new camper. Can’t speak highly enough of this great campground. Lots of activities and games available on the grounds. Lots of great restaurants and hiking nearby if you want to venture off the grounds.
