Once more we had a great experience at Newport. Sadly we had to cut it short due to a medical problem and we found what a wonderful group of people work here. As usual the resort was very clean, a. very warm welcome, and everything in the suite worked fine and comfortable as before. We will certainly be back as Door County and Newport are always on our “to do” list. One last item, we left early and the staff were very helpful in advising where Urgent Care was and they showed a warm level of concern. They did give us a credit which not every resort would do. Just another reason why we want to stay here. If you are planning a Door County trip include Newport Resort in your plans and book early as “no vacancy” occurs often.

We picked this place online. We had 6 people so limited our options some to find one room that would work. We were happy to find this that had 2 separate bedrooms (king and queen) and a pullout sofa in nice living room worked out great. Had kitchen (coffee maker and plates/silverware provided) and 2 bathrooms which is useful, a whirlpool tub we didnt use fireplace and balcony area with table and chairs. We were on first floor right near pools and grill area which i would recommend. Place was clean, they had coffee teas available all day. My wife is handicapped in a scooter and couldnt get handicap room. But they were really nice and provided us a seat to put in shower and room was big enough to get around. Covid wise people wore masks. The cleaning people dont come in room. U just leave trash and towels outside and they replace for u. Can leave note if need something special or i just found them in hallway in am. Any dishes used by previous people they put in dishwasher and clean and put through sanitizer cycle. They limited how many could be in pool areas indoor and outside. But i never noticed either nearly that busy. Have 3 gas grills to make food if u want with tables and chairs. Location i thought was very good. Really nice walk in am to egg harbor downtown and harbor is great scenic walk and exercise. Maybe 10 min can be downtown walking. And only 5 miles or so from fish creek where we went for breakfast alot. Property is nice. Parking got pretty full if u got back after say 830. I would agree with some other comments that the place could use a little facelift in updating rooms. U can see some visible wear and tear in few spots. Price was pretty reasonable for peak time. This place worked great for us. Would recommend to anyone.

We stayed the weekend and had a great time! The front desk staff were outstanding! We unfortunately had a car issue and they quickly gave us phone numbers of local people to call for assistance.

We had the premium one bedroom suite, which is definitely worth the upgrade. It’s a second floor room, so the noise level is not a factor at all. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The living room is very comfy with a gas fireplace on a timer for safety sake. Our balcony afforded us with a nice place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Having a full kitchen was a plus, but I would encourage them to replace the 10 cup coffee pot to a Keurig. There is always coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available off the lobby, but that first cup of coffee in the morning is usually best enjoyed in one’s jammies.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It’s within walking distance of the downtown area and you can pick up other walking paths as well.

Since we haven’t been away for quite a while, we weren’t sure what the COVID precautions would be. Not to worry, they have their bases covered. Masks are required and there is ample hand sanitizer in many areas in the hotel. Indoor pool is open as is the hot tub, but with capacity limits.

Stop at the little gift shop and get a frozen pizza, can or bottle of beer and call it a night. Prices are extremely reasonable for food and drink items.

We will definitely be back!

Newport is a spectacular place to stay with families or couples. The two bedroom suites are wonderful complete with a full kitchen, large refrigerator, full-sized dishwasher, large oven/stove and very nice amenities: 2 full bathrooms (1 Hairdryer (wall mounted in jacuzzi bathroom), great outdoor patio (we were on 1st floor), coffee/filters, dishes/silverware/cooking pots/pans.

Both an indoor and outdoor pool are immaculate with a sauna next to the indoor pool is available. Outdoor grilling area (3-4 grills) are at one's disposal. Indoor and outdoor kids play area which was a hit for our grandkids.

The staff bends over backwards to serve and the location is perfect. Walking distance to grocery store, downtown Egg Harbor and the Egg Harbor marina. We had a fantastic time.

I've read the reviews and just don't get some of the complaints. Upon arriving check-in was a breeze.
Walking into the room, you could smell the "clean" smell. Inspected all bedding, linens, restrooms, floors and etc. and everything was clean and in proper shape. You could smell the new carpet smell as they've been making renovations. The furniture was great. The bed was cozy! Fireplace worked and is a nice added perk to have with morning coffee!
Everything we needed was in the kitchen. We had purchased some small breakfast items and quick foods to make as snacks. Was very helpful to have the kitchen. I do suggest they get a Keurig instead of a large coffee pot.
I will say the loud jet sound when the toilet flush does exist, as does the loud bathroom exhaust fan. These are minor things that would not affect a score for me.
Noise. Kids running through the hallways sound like a herd of elephants when sitting in the main area. However when in the bedroom I didn't hear any of that.
I could hear someone slamming a door here and there, I think the patio door. I would not blame the resort for that, that's just rude behavior of the guests below us.
We had such a great time while there that we attempted to stay another night but we're informed our room was not available. I look forward to returning to Newport Resort!
Thank you Newport for being a part of our memorable weekend!

We had a really nice time on a long weekend trip. The room rate for a two-bedroom suite was great during the off-season, and the place wasn't too crowded. The room and facilities were well-kept and clean, beds were comfy, pool area was great and the place is perfectly located to explore Door County. For the winter, things were fine, but there were a few drawbacks (if I'm being picky):

1) If I was paying $100 more a night in the summer months, I'd expect better paper products (i.e. toilet paper, kleenex, and paper towels) and soaps/amenities in the bathrooms.

2) Aside from the lobby which was recently updated, the place is pretty outdated. Very clean, but very 90's. Loud exhaust fans in the bathrooms, older tiles and showers, slightly sad furniture in the living areas.

3) I've never seen so many wet hair wads in a pool. The pool area was generally very clean, except for the hair. I was seriously gagging.

Really we did have a great time. We'd love to come back when we can enjoy some of the outdoor amenities.

We stayed at Newport Resort last year at the end of May and liked the style of having a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms, a kitchenette, living room, and a patio.

This trip was different but we try to make the best of every trip to one of our favorite places. Night one in room 113, we noticed that the couch cushions were essentially non-existent and we were sitting on hard wood to do a puzzle on the coffee table.

The next morning, we woke up to enjoy an Easter egg hunt. Probably the best Easter egg hunt I have ever been to, there was 6,000 Easter eggs! My two daughters had a blast.

My daughters loved everything about Newport Resort. The favorites are the pool and hot tub. Another favorite of theirs would be the whirlpool hot tub in the master bathroom, they love doing bath bombs in there.

After the Easter Egg Hunt, my parents sat on the patio and realized that the door doesn't lock and a worker came to check it out and apologized about it and the couch.

She said we can change rooms Sunday (the next day) as people would be clearing out, so we did because we had three more nights to stay!

We made it back to our original room that we stayed in last year (206)! The rooms were just as we remembered them and the patio was nice to view the beautiful Door County sunsets. The only recommendation I have would give to the resort would be to change out the mattress in the guest room, as it kind of dips and my daughter kept gravitating to my side of the bed because of it. Also, it got hot in the room- I couldn't figure out the AC for 206. It cooled down at night with all of the windows open. The construction across the street woke us up in the morning.

I called the morning of check-out to see if we could do a late checkout (1PM) and Sandy, the general manager was so kind and said "of course since noone was booked after" us! How sweet!

Great resort to stay with children. Rooms are clean and spacious. The kitchen had most equipment needed to make meals.

Covid safety protocols were followed and enforced during the stay. Housekeeping was no-contact so they picked up towels and garbage outside of the room with replacements.

We stayed in a premium spa suite (second floor) in April. There was road construction right outside but, thankfully they didn’t work on the weekend. No problem with access to hotel.
We loved the gas fireplace in the living room. We used it every day. The kitchen is modern/well appointed. It has everything you need but food. The mattresses were premium quality/comfy. There were plenty of blankets and soft pillows. The bed linens were also soft. There’s no ceiling fan in the MBR. There is one in the second bedroom but it only operated on slow speed. The whirlpool tub was IN the MBR bath tub. I couldn’t get into it because it was too high for my old knees. The towels are soft and oversized. There’s also one black washcloth in the bathroom for additional makeup removal. Both bathrooms have hair dryers, pull out makeup mirrors, the usual toiletries plus disposable makeup removal wipes. Didn’t use the AC, indoor pool or hot tub. There’s a no contact linen exchange service. No one comes into your unit. Free coffee/cocoa are offered 24 hours a day by front desk. Moderate (sometimes high) kid noise.
It’s a comfy, gently used yet clean and well maintained hotel.
Already booked a return trip.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. We really loved this resort! It's in a great location, just a short 5 to 10-minute walk to town and on a quiet street. The pools are great! Indoor and outdoor heated, plus a whirlpool. The grounds are lovely to walk around too. The rooms were spacious with a full kitchen. Tip: Bring butter or spray oil if you want to use the pans to cook on the stovetop. The living room is a good size with plenty of seating and the bedroom is nice too. The mattress was a little firm for my liking. The balcony is great! We ate out there a few times and enjoyed the view. Only a couple cons: They don't give you conditioner for your hair. Glad I brought my own! And the room was very hot when we arrived. We cranked up the window air conditioner but it took a long while to cool off the room and it never really reaches the bedroom on the far side of the suite. Very grateful for the ceiling fan in the bedroom or it would have been too hot to sleep. Regardless, a fantastic trip. We would stay here again!
