This is a very well-run campground with friendly helpful staff. The sites are nicely set up with a good amount of privacy between sites. The facilities such as the showers, bathrooms, and washrooms are modern and clean. They have a nice activity center with things to do for kids and adults.

We stayed a Tues-Friday and was very impressed with the amenities. I read previous reviews and will concour with them there are amazing restroom facilities! There is a little for everyone for families. Our son loved the 3 playgrounds & bouncy house. We never made it to the pool however looked very nice. The office is nice and inviting and in fact allowed us to arrive late and check in the next morning. There is a mini gift shop and coffee complimentary, movies to rent, wifi at the main building. There is a pumping service for your waste if you choose however the dumpsite is right near the front and very accessible. There isn't much cellular service which is good and poor just preplan your trip. It was nice to visit the hustle and bustle but not be in the middle of it. All the Door County attractions are in reasonable distance unless you head to washington island which is about 45mins away but not bad at all. Would definately recommend to others! Very reasonable price for full water/electric sites on rock/gravel for the most part. Nice wooded spaces inbetween sites.

One of the best campgrounds in Door County - definitely the most wilderness, lots of trees. Great family campground and yet very quiet. Fun activities like inflatables, mini golf, arcade and even indoor swimming pool. Probably cleanest showers you'll ever find. Wooded sites, some cabin rentals, lots of trees for hanging a hammock n even some wonderful wildlife

We usually stay at State Parks but found no openings this year. I was pleasantly surprised with FWC and would recommend it for campers. The facility has a lot to offer with various playgrounds, indoor pool, mini golf and a fully stocked store. Fair amount of permanent campers, quite during the week. The site was large, wooded, level and had a fair amount of rock/gravel. While it didn’t rain while there for the week, the gravel would have made it much nicer to deal with verses dirt. The pit toilets were some of the nicest I seen too.

Gave Frontier Wilderness a chance this week to convert me from a state park only camper. Let me just say, we already reserved for next year! Beautifully kept up. Very clean everywhere, especially restrooms. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Thanks for a memorable week..can't wait until next year!

Always a pleasure staying here. Clean, quiet, woodsy experience. The campground is beautiful, the staff are all friendly and it’s a great place to base your Door County vacation from. We look forward to many years of camping here.

The reviews are mostly accurate in that this campground is very wooded, fairly well maintained, quiet, good location and clean restrooms. However, for those of you with bigger RVs, i.e. 35ft. + fifth wheels, motorhomes, etc. or you like to bring along additional large toys you will find very tight maneuvering. I do not reccommend this campground due to the many trees, narrow roads and lack of adequate places to turn around a larger rig even though their ad says they are big rig friendly. They also claim to have WiFi but we didn't get any connection at our site and the staff were of no use to fix it. Be aware the cell phone, over-the-air TV and satellite service is terrible as well. I said fairly well maintained because the picnic tables in each site were rotting and the water hookups are screwed to live tree trunks. One last word of advice I got from permanent site residents....lights out and in your camper/tent/RV by midnight or else!

We stayed here over a weekend in site 222 which was nicely wooded. The campers are mainly families and it was nice and quiet. Lots of large RVs so if you're looking for a real natural place it wouldn't fit the bill. However the showers and changing area were wonderfully clean and we had fun playing mini golf and horseshoes.

We recently spent a week at the Frontier Wilderness Campground in Egg Harbor Wisconsin. The location of the campground was ideal as it is situated about 1 mile off the main highway that runs along the pennisula. The campground is heavily wooded with both pine and hardwood trees so it was a wonderful autumn camping experience. There were many amenities that you don't normally find in a typical campground - such as a heated indoor pool, 'adults only' TV room with couches and large screen TV as well as a game arcade. What really impressed me the most was the covered pavillions that they have at the campground to hang out in during rainy days. The pavillions allow for campfires underneath a vented roof. There are three large playgrounds for children as well as a mini golf course. While I don't have young children, the playground structures were very nice and sturdy equipment. All in all a very nice campground.

We enjoyed the campground so much we decided to rent a slot for next summer to keep our camper there. The seasonal rates are very compeittive with lesser campgrounds in our area. I'm looking forward to spending more time at the Frontier Wilderness Campground next year!

I can't remember how we found this campground but we are returning for our 3rd stay this fall. The campground and cabins are simply awesome. The bathrooms, showers and changing rooms are some of the cleanest I've ever seen in a campground. This place is full of families who either live in the camp or have summer/fall campers/cabins - so no knuckleheads. It is relatively close to anything you might want to see in door county. They do have a hand full of cabins available to rent and they fill up fast, so if you're planning a fall or summer trip plan early. The staff are just amazing. I just can't say enough good things about FWC and the people who live and work there. If you want firewood you can buy it when you check in - they have a huge shed full.
