This was our second time staying here, and the room we had this time had more updated decor. The bathroom was also very nice and updated. The problems that we had were that a storm rolled through and knocked out half the power to our room (which seemed odd), which ALSO resulted in us having no running water for several hours. The AC still worked so we left it on, and in the middle of the night it began leaking on to the couch where our son was sleeping. Not a great thing to wake up to! We turned it off and left it off after that, since there was a light fixture directly underneath it and we didn’t want water pouring all over the light.
A little bit more thorough cleaning could have been done in the kitchen before we arrived. However overall, the staff there seems very responsive and we enjoyed our stay aside from the power outage. We would stay here again.

Hi, Steve! Thank you so much for visiting the Landmark Resort! We're so glad you enjoyed your getaway to Door County and took advantage of some of our amenities, such as the whirlpools and pools. We're very blessed to be located on the top of the bluff, where we're far enough away from the bustle of downtown Egg Harbor but just a short drive away from everything the county has to offer. Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to see you again soon!

Most things in Door County are closed in January, especially during the week, which we expected. We did NOT expect that the amenities at the Landmark Resort would also not be available to us in January! Despite very few people there, we had a view of the parking lot instead of the bay of Green Bay, the onsite restaurant closed for the season we day we checked in (1/26/2025), and the indoor pool also closed for maintenance the day we checked in, for the entirety of our stay. The outdoor path in their 200 acre resort was also closed for the winter. None of this was indicated on their website prior to our arrival date. The location is lovely, Egg Harbor is great, with many restaurant options, even in winter (though some are closed some days of the week. We were disappointed that we couldn't even drive through most of Peninsula State Park, and couldn't see the lighthouse and overlook. The annual Winterfest in Fish Creek was disappointing too. We'd attended 10 years ago, and there was much less to do this year. We left after one hour! We came back at 6 pm Saturday for the fireworks, though -- they were great!

We're very sorry to hear about your recent stay at the Landmark Resort. Each winter, we close our indoor pool for a week for maintenance, which should have been alerted to you prior to your stay. Additionally, our restaurant is taking a winter break this season, which also could have been communicated to you prior to your arrival. We apologize for the lack of communication, and we hope to see you again to deliver an exceptional and comfortable stay.

I have been coming to Landmark for most of my in-state vacations for 35 years. Lately I have been seeing a poor modernization to your buildings, rooms and service. The receptionist people are very nice and helpful; however, under staffing has taken a toll. The price I paid for the 4 nights stay was pretty high: I felt like a bell hop since I got my own toilet paper, towels and fixed the TV channels since I was to leave a voice message at the front desk (there was only one guy holding fort by himself). BTW, I was told that someone would fix the TV but no one came while we stayed there. My elderly parents have joined me for the past years. I noticed no rails in the bathroom, difficulties turning on the facets in the tube (no walk-in tube). Folks did not shower while we were there. Also when checking in I was charged $10.00 just in case of damage? WELL...where is my refund on doing my beds, getting towels, getting coffee, exchanging a clock, and programming TV channels!!!! And...change that stinky and rotting carpeting already in the hallways. Plus side...Love the Patti's walking path. The beds and blankets are wonderful and even the pull-out couch was excellent! Nice surroundings as usual. Just update the place because I would like to choose to come again.

Thank you for staying at the Landmark Resort and for choosing us as your destination during your stays in Door County. We appreciate you visiting us so often, though we're sorry to hear that your most recent stay did not live up to your expectations. As you mentioned, we unfortunately have been short staffed recently, an issue that can be found throughout the county. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time as we strive to provide the best possible experience with the incredible staff we currently have. We are also planning on renovations and updates that we hope to start working on soon, to address several of the issues you encountered. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to see you again soon to deliver an exceptional stay for you and your family.

When we checked into our Waterside room for our anniversary weekend, the smell hit us, it smelled like someone just smoked 3 packs of cigarettes in our room, the cigarette smell was deep in the furniture, carpets, everywhere!! The smell was giving us a headache right away. This hotel is supposed to be non-smoking....how did the cleaning crew not smell this? We immediately opened all the windows to try and air out and called the front desk. They said there was NOTHING they could do for us and that the hotel was booked…
We decided to open all the windows and leave for a few hours to see if it airs out. We come back and the smell is still terrible. This time we go to the front desk to speak to someone in person. Again there is nothing they can do for us except for move us into a Woodside room the next day….They did not offer a discount or comp for this issue. Even though we paid MORE for the Waterside room. That’s why we stay here for a waterside room NOT a woodside room. They suggest for now they would send someone to clean the room again.
We are back in the room, We hear a knock on the door and let the housekeeper in to clean…The housekeeper sprays 3 spritz of febreeze and says ‘do you need anything else?’ Are you kidding me?! What is 3 sprays of febreeze going to do?! Nothing!
The beds were not comfortable and the fan was covered in dust!!!
We will be looking for someone new to stay next time!

This was our second year in a row staying at the Landmark over the 4th of July weekend. A little-known perk of the Landmark is that you can get an obstructed view of the Egg Harbor and private fireworks displays on July 3 from the hotel grounds. I want to emphasize “obstructed,” since you can only see the fireworks through the trees, but for us this absolutely beats staking out a spot in the park hours in advance and fighting traffic afterward. The fireworks we saw ran for precisely 20 minutes, and there was perfect silence afterward–so much better than at home in the Chicago suburbs, when the neighbors shoot off fireworks almost all night.

Our kids love the four pools at the Landmark, which was the main reason we returned to this hotel. This year we opted for a room with 2 king beds and 2 full bathrooms–this made a huge difference in our family’s comfort (last year we had 2 queens and a single bathroom).

The Landmark is in a nice central location for accessing the many attractions of Door County. It is close to the small downtown in Egg Harbor, though I would not recommend trying to walk there with children, as the road is very steep, and there is no sidewalk or shoulder.

Like most hotels these days, the Landmark’s housekeeping is clearly over-burdened. Before complaining, keep in mind that this is a hotel of nearly 300 suites, in a town with a permanent population of only 202 people. They are doing the very best they can with extremely limited human resources.

I do wish the Landmark would upgrade its dishware, though. The bowls and coffee cups, in particular, are extremely small. We received only 4 bowls in our unit, so we were washing them constantly. Other than that, the kitchen was totally usable. The water pressure in the showers was excellent, and the beds were comfortable.

Overall, I highly recommend the Landmark for a comfortable family stay in Door County. We would definitely stay here again if we return for another 4th of July weekend visit!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom (upper loft had king sized bed & full bathroom unattached & lower bedroom had 2 twin beds with full bathroom unattached). Beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows. One of the extra blankets we pulled out from the closet had what looked like macaroni & cheese stains. Otherwise all other linens were clean.
Full kitchen with all utensil, dishes, pots/pans needed. Supplies included paper towels, dish washing detergent and dish soap. Microwave, dishwasher, fridge. Everything worked well. Coffee pot and coffee provided. The room was quiet, no noise from other rooms or the hallways.
Pool area was clean and plenty of towels. When we first arrived a sign was posted for 20 or less in the pool area. That was not being upheld. We inquired about it and asked why have a sign up if not following the rules. Next day sign was replaced with a recommendation of 6 feet distancing and nothing about the capacity. The pool area averaged 20-50 people depending on time of day. Even without covid, 50 was crowded in there.
The arcade was closed. Disappointing considering the games could be wiped off. Our kids were bummed out.
The restaurant Carrington was open Wed-Sun only. For supper only I believe. Never ate there.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It sounds like your stay was pleasant and comfortable. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed our resort's overall feel and atmosphere. The game room remains closed due to the size of the room, and attempting to keep people distanced (in response to COVID-19). The number of guests during spring break was beyond expectations, and we did change the pool signage based on your inquiry and others. Signage was changed to ask for voluntary spacing to stay safe. Thank you for choosing the Landmark Resort. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Some friends that had been here in the past highly recommended it. We were really looking forward to it. I won’t say it was all bad. The property grounds are beautiful. Truly beautiful views. It’s door county, everything is beautiful. The trails are nice. The property grounds are a 5 star rating (like all of DC).

Now the rooms… we had a long drive so our check in was later in the evening. When we arrived we noticed the floors hadn’t been vacuumed. We pulled out the sofa sleeper and there were crumbs on the cushions. The mattress pad was disgusting. I won’t go into details here… but it was a mess. I called room service and they sent someone up right away to vacuum the couch and change the mattress pad. (The service is great.) The next morning we went to make coffee and there was a moldy coffee pack in the coffee maker. It obviously had not been cleaned in a while. The rooms were very dusty. The porch door was hard to open and the screen wouldn’t close. You get what you pay for but in this case, it was definitely not worth what we paid. Had it been less we wouldn’t complain. If you are going to charge people upwards of $200 a night, at least have clean rooms. Yes, the furniture needs updating but we wouldn’t have minded that as long as it was clean. Cleanliness definitely needs improvement. We will not be returning. I’d rather pay more for something cleaner.

Stayed at Landmark Resort in the past and it never disappoints! They clearly are taking extra steps to sanitize and accomodate guests while remaining as safe as possible. Our remote was bagged for easy cleaning, sanitizing stations are scattered throughout and the resort has social distancing signs and mask policies in place. This property has a ton to do and lots to explore. It's only minutes from great eateries. If you're on a budget there are out grills and areas to eat outside as well as their kitchenettes. Always enjoy our stay here. A bit pricey but definitely a step above!

This resort is a good place to stay because of its natural environment & beauty. Family members and I were in different buildings but walked on nice paths (both behind and in front) of buildings to get to each other and each pool area and lobby are accessible to everyone. The inside of the resort buildings is nothing amazing. Holiday Inn-plus. The hallway carpets are dirty. The simple tiled bathrooms are small. The bed is in a sort of cubby-hole room with little space to move around and no charm whatsoever. There is only cheap shampoo, no conditioner, so ladies bring your own products. For persons who are disabled, ask for a room that is accessible b/c everywhere you go there are steps up and down, and long confusing hallways, and I think this is a challenge for someone who is not 100% mobile. There's one elevator. The living room area is ample size and nice. Full kitchen and we did cook and serve a meal. Ask for a ceiling fan; not all rooms have them. In the end, the inside needs a makeover. Mother Nature makes this a unique, cool resort, that I recommend: just do not expect charm or luxury inside the buildings.. P.S. the restaurant is good. Good food, friendly people, great view.

No outdoor hot tub that functions in winter. Besides the hot tub that is in the main building along with the indoor pool, each building has a hot tub in the lower level.
