We spend a long weekend at the Wild Eagle Lodge. The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. There are plenty of types of boats to explore the water. Our unit was clean, yet needed fresh carpet for me to rate the property higher. We would have appreciated a kinder, warmer welcome upon arrival and departure. High-quality customer service is what makes us return to a resort.
Spacious. clean and comfy condos. Access to the lake, with a beach; boat launch, plenty of docks for boats; open space for kids/adults to play volleyball, in the playground or tennis courts. Nice size pool. THis is our 3rd trip staying here and we just realizes there is an AMAZING restaurant. The Blue Heron has excellent food, great staff! Dinner ordered a salad and shrimp- amazing! Back for Sunday brunch- so many options of the basics as well as some speciality items. You can eat at the restaurant even if you are not staying there.
Overall this resort is clean and friendly. Bed was uncomfortable and dryer didn’t dry clothes well. Dock space for boat was great. On Duck Lake, one of the smaller lakes on the chain but has nice restaurants and the Pirate Ship just a bit down the way-all with boat parking.
If your looking for a wonderful place to stay in Eagle River, you really can’t go wrong at Wild Eagle Lodge. Our unit was perfect. Beautiful views and activities galore. Our days were filled with activities on the lakes and beach. Relaxing evenings on the patio just enjoying the great view. The pool and hot tub were perfect. I have traveled a lot and would say this was one of the most enjoyable trips I have ever taken.
We have stayed at this "resort" along with several other family members, in different units, for several years. The spotty internet remains a constant hassle. Front desk says it is an ongoing battle with Charter communications. But we are thankful for the nearby Pirates Hideaway WiFi, that we all accessed on the beach, to check in with our work/ companies at home. We have been passengers at Pirates Hideaway three times...definitely a great experience! Also, big shout out to Eagle River coffee roasters for the drive-up service and free WiFi. The general maintenance of Wild Eagle Resort has diminished. I gave a list to the general manager, who was not on-site during the two day power outage. The gals at the front desk were very kind and helpful. BTW, in spite of both summer and winter inclement weather, you must know that there is no generator here. Rental Unit hallways are very dark, with no running water. Bring your flashlights and lanterns and bottled water. Lots of humorous chatter while guests filled their garbage cans with lake water to flush their toilets. Those on the second floor had a tougher time taking water from the lake back upstairs. Check your billing statement carefully. In spite of contacting the front desk, only the general manager can refund overcharges. The ice cream shack was a nice idea, but usually the poor employee just sat in there all day. Maybe get an ice cream cart to wheel to the beach instead, and offer frozen adult drinks too. The location is nice, but they need to actually stay in the rental units to fix the run down things, and use the hot tub and pool to see the dirty vents, repair the broken doors, and convince their guests why this resort should be rated top notch. But we realize there are tons of other vacationers on the waiting list. Have at it.…
