We had a very late flight into MKE and found out that we could not pick up our rental car until the next morning. The Hertz pockup (even for Gold) closes at 10 PM. I figured we may as well make a day of it before we shoved off for our final destination at Elkhart Lake, so I booked us into the Sheridan for just one night arriving at 1 AM and leaving the next morning to go Uber to our rental car pick up.

The price was not significantly more than a generic airport hotel which — having had vast experience with these — are not the greatest. I had a few qualms about arriving so late to an independently owned establishment and whether we would be able to get into our room, but the lockbox was easy and no contact and we were upstairs and in our fabulous bed five minutes after the Uber dropped us off right at the door. Breakfast was dropped onto a tray right in front of our door at 9 AM, two breakfast sandwiches and a little yogurt with granola two types of juice and the coffee was right down the hall. Keurig machine with half-and-half in mini moos. I believe they were a few flavored creamer pumps as well.

In the morning after we ate, we walked out to look at the lake and marveled at the adorable town that is Cudahy. I will admit I did a little Zillow stalking, which only happens when I really like where I am. We decided that from now on when we come in to Milwaukee we will do this little side trip on purpose and stay at the Sheraton. Comfortable bed, large room, clean bathroom, and everything you could possibly need. Very intuitive space. Five stars all around.

My husband and I just spent a night at Sheridan’s Bed and Breakfast for our 49th wedding anniversary. This was a gift from our son. We received it late last year, but when we decided to use the gift, Covid had started to take over the country. The owner kindly honored the gift when we felt we could spend a night there. Since they had changed from a boutique hotel to a bed and breakfast during the pandemic, they also kindly upgraded our room to a suite. We chose the Rioja Suite because we have a close connection to Spain, but cannot travel there now. The room was so lovely with the wine colored walls, Sevilla images, charming iron 4 poster bed, classic furniture including an upholstered beauty, my husband called the “Queen’s Chair.” We had a very appreciated whirlpool hot tub in our room. Our classic black and white tiled bathroom and shower were perfect. We were served a very pleasant breakfast delivered safely to just outside our room on a high stand. There was coffee, tea to brew, water and ice just a few steps from our room. WHO health safety measures were followed and we had contactless safe entry, check-in and check-out, but could still contact staff by phone. During this difficult time in our country and inability to travel any distance from our home, this was a perfect getaway for our anniversary. We also took advantage of the lovely, sunny, but cool day to take a long walk in nearby Sheridan Park along Lake Michigan. We were very pleased! Hope to return In future!

This stay was for 9 days of visiting with family and friends in the area. Each time I stay at Sheridan’s I marvel at the impeccable cleanliness and style of the rooms. The beds and pillows are a dream. I’ve never had trouble sleeping at Sheridan’s. The breakfasts are amazing. From the pecan caramel French toast to the home fries, bacon and eggs, you will look forward to breakfast each day. I loved that I could go down the hall and make coffee anytime I wanted. They provide free beverages, including coffee, tea, beer and wine, and a variety of carbonated water flavors. I also joyed the faux fireplace that warmed the room quickly when needed. You will find it easy to travel from this location to anywhere in the Milwaukee area.

This is a beautiful place, too bad the owners have attitude. Planned my wedding 1 mile from hotel. Had friends and family from out of state stay here. When my nephew called to book his room, he was told there were no rooms held. He then booked a room at another hotel. I was so angry! I had to call the Sheridan and while talking with the owner she said "do you just want to cancel the whole thing" She forced me to KISS HER BUTT! I WAS SO ANGRY! Then weeks before the wedding they turned the place into a Bed And Breakfast. They raised the room prices, and charged for juice and milk at breakfast..Also the rooms were not ready at check in time. I really loved this place when it first opened in 2007. But 2019 was my first experience with the owners.

Response from Jane Schilz, Owner at Sheridan's Bed and Breakfast

Many events that take place in life are joyous and exciting but can also be filled with stress and anxiety. This is especially the case when one finds out they have not planned well or adequately. Our policy is to always help with what we can for any guest and certainly for those having an event with us.Sadly, we have learned in some cases...happily, the minority of cases....that no matter what you do, your efforts often go unappreciated. As an owner, you also have the right to expect your property will be respected and not abused or damaged. When this happens, you must make a determination of whether or not it was the patron's responsibility or if some of "their" guests caused the damage. We always err on our event guest's side and absorb costs that cannot be determined to be their responsibility. Once again, such kindness is sometimes ignored and unappreciated. Let me end by saying that such experiences will never change our attitude of welcoming and feeling honored by being chosen to hold a valued patron's important event.

We continue to come to Sheridan's B&B every New Year's and for our anniversary. We love their luxury hot tub rooms and try to stay in the same room each and every time because it's absolutely a treasure. We will continue to keep coming back there as the owners are great housekeeping is super friendly and it's always a great experience and a quiet way to spend a New Years Eve.

We planned a visit to Milwaukee to rendezvous with friends traveling from Europe. We decided to stay in Cudahy because it is convenient to the airport and did NOT want a big chain hotel/motel. We hit the jackpot in Sheridan’s B&B. Quiet, convenient and immaculately clean are just the starters to what has been a great stay. The location can’t be beat, an easy commute to everything. The included breakfast is scrumptious, varied, beautifully prepared and if anything perhaps too large for two people to share. Our suite, the “Napa” is welcoming and tastefully decorated and includes every needed convenience. Sheridan’s is the next best thing to staying with your most welcoming best friends.

My husband and I have stayed here several times. Nothing but good things to say about this darling boutique motel. Comfortable, well appointed guestrooms. Comfy beds and the shower is amazing. Easy self check in. Nice quiet atmosphere with a nice courtyard for having drinks or coffee. The breakfast that was brought to our room was amazing complete with bacon and eggs, gourmet French toast with pecans, two juices, and yogurts. This is our go to motel when we visit the Milwaukee area. We won’t stay anywhere else anymore. If you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the huge hotels in downtown Milwaukee, this is the place you should stay. In a quiet, darling neighborhood you will feel relaxation the second you see the motel’s atmosphere. Totally prefer this over large, busy hotels in the metropolitan area.

Just returned home from 5 nights at this lovely establishment! You couldn't ask for any more out of a place to stay- this Bed and Breakfast is top notch! Check in is a breeze, the rooms are spacious and extremely well equipped, from the "fake" fireplace, to the bath robes, a CD player with CD's provided, the most comfortable bed, and wonderful soaps, shampoos and lotions, to the best breakfast delivered straight to your room. Jane, the owner, has thought of everything! Location is amazing- right across the street from parks and Lake Michigan, centrally located to everything we wanted to do. If we find ourselves back in Milwaukee, we will definitely stay here again! Wish there was an elevator to the rooms, only to get luggage upstairs, but otherwise, perfection!

Wonderful place. Comfortable, tasteful, immaculately clean. Delicious breakfast. Convenient, free, parking. Clean, safe neighborhood. Very clean, luxurious, updated bathrooms for such a vinatage hotel. Rooms with eastern exposure provide beautiful view for seeing the sunrise over the lake. Management is friendly, competent, and responsive. Ideal location for going to shows at The Very Famous X-Ray Arcade.

Bed and breakfast was impossible to reach, even during their normal business hours of 830am-5pm daily. I wanted to do something nice for my wife. In addition, the hotel owner refused to listen when I made requests. Room was set up nice, breakfast was good, but the owner Jane has zero empathy and customer service experience. Would not stay here again nor recommend to friends or family.
