We stayed at the Cable Nature Lodge for 3 nights Wednesday through Friday. It was super quiet Wednesday and Thursday and Friday had entertainment outside but it was quiet by 10 pm. There is a pub and restaurant below the lodge rooms but we decided to skip that because their prices seemed very high. We assumed the locals felt the... More

This place is great! The staff are very friendly, the rooms are really nice, comfortable bed, a table and chairs, Keurig with plenty of coffee, creamer, sugar, plates, bowls and silverware. Peaceful and relaxing get away. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights over President's Weekend as a base for skiing the Birkebeiner Trail over 3 days. This was a perfect spot to enter either at Cable or the OO trailhead. We stayed in the "Camp Cable" room and loved it. Nicely spacious. Good bed. Nice sofa. Good for a couple, but probably not enough... More

We just spent 2 nights in the small White Pine room and agreed we probably would have given it 2 1/2 stars if Trip Advisor allowed. The room was clean enough but it was much smaller than an average hotel room. I do believe this room was one of the 2 smallest rooms but we were surprised at how small... More

We recently stayed 2 nights at this location. The room for the most part was clean (although the quilt/comforter had what appeared to be a blood stain on the underside). We stayed in the "Birkie" room. It had a king-size bed (which is close to needing to be replaced). The room had a small refrigerator, microwave, table and 2 chairs.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious "Camp Cable" room for two nights in August. The room was very clean and included a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Because it was a corner room, we had views in two different directions. There was even a friendly local dog who came in one day when we opened the door and hopped up onto... More

Very nice accomodations in the national forest of Wisconsin. You have to watch for the sign for the associated restaurant on the highway. Well maintained, clean, very much a lodge feeling. The decorum was very modern and tasteful. The whole setting was very nice. We had to arrive very late but they were helpful in working with us. we wish... More

If your looking for a quiet get away, this is a great place to stay. It is small having only I believe 7 guestrooms. Seems like it use to be a home turned into a B&B style hotel. The room was clean and good sized. It is fairly quiet almost all the time. The food is good and the Sunday... More

The hotel, no, not hotel, bed & breakfast, is beautiful, quaint, and backwoodsy. If it's just 2 people, and no problems arise in your stay at all, you'll probably have a good time. However, when problems do happen, watch out. Travelocity booked our stay wrong (we booked over the phone). They booked for 2 people, not 3. The place is... More

Sometimes in this business you just have to shake your head. Cable Nature Lodge is indeed designed as a quiet getaway for couples rather than families, and that is exactly how we advertise. In this case we were expecting two people to arrive because that's what their online reservation stated, and that's also what we confirmed via email in advance... More

My husband and I just returned from a delightful visit to the North Woods. We had previously owned property in Cable and were sure we would not find a place as special to stay. Were we wrong...the Cable Nature Lodge was clean, comfortable and had incredible views of nature out your window. It was quiet and supported our love of... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Awesome accommodations. Fantastic food. Welcome to Cable Nature Lodge! Offering superior quality lodging and casual gourmet dining for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers in a peaceful, smoke-free, adult-oriented environment. Cable Nature Lodge is more intimate and casual than a generic hotel or large resort, yet more private than a B&B. Our seven guest rooms feature a distinctive blend of rustic elegance...with plush beds, private baths, wireless Internet, and satellite TV. You'll also find a mini-fridge, microwave, and gourmet coffeemaker for preparing breakfast on your own. Back east they'd call Cable Nature Lodge a country inn. Chances are what you'll most appreciate about this very unique accommodation is returning from a full day of activities in the beautiful Wisconsin Northwoods to relax and freshen up in one of the finest guest rooms in the area. And then simply strolling downstairs to dinner at Rookery Pub Fine Dining, the only restaurant in the region named to TripAdvisor's Hall of Fame as a Five-Time Certificate of Excellence winner, and also the only one to be AAA Three Diamond Approved. With no worries about polishing off that wonderful bottle of wine or enjoying an extra cocktail. Knowing that after a delectable meal you needn't drive somewhere else to spend the night. ... more   less
