We stayed at this place, not sure I would call it a Lodge, so we could easily get on the bike trail and that was the best thing about staying there. Staff was not friendly; we were not told when we called for reservation that hot tub was not working; that we could store bikes in garage; nor were we told to bring own milk, bread, and juice for continental breakfast - a 2020 COVID rule. Web site listed local bakery but there was only wrapped commercial muffins, boxes of cold cereal and over ripe bananas. Coffee was good. When we were ready to check out in the morning no one was at the front desk to check us out. Sign says to check hallway incase owner was cleaning but no one was in the hallway. Sign on front door says "NO PETS" and we walked in the owner was there with his dog. We did find out you can have a pet but must it must not be in room alone. On a more positive light - rooms were clean, lobby inviting, convenient location and good to be able to store bikes in garage. I would not stay there again - other lodging places near by and convenient to bike trail.…
Went early Feb for a snowmobile trip. Never stayed in Boulder but was pleasantly surprised at the town. Lodge is spotless, great parking for trailers and located perfectly for trail access and gas/food. we were cut short due to an accident and my brother ending up with a broken back which the owner was over the top assisting us with blankets and calling for help. Cant wait to get back there and stay again. 10 stars for Boulder Bear Motor Lodge
Extremely clean and disinfected...which in this time of covid makes a big difference! Staff and owner are very friendly. Nicely decorated for the holidays! The rooms in the back have pretty views and deer stop by to visit.
My recent stay was the 14th time I've stayed at this motel and will NEVER stay here again! The owner's personality was absolutely horrible. When we came came back, from riding our bikes, we'd say hi as we came through the lobby and didn't get much more than a grunt. There's signs everywhere stating what you can't do. For example, the sign by the ice is " this ice is NOT for your coolers, if you want ice pay for it at the front desk. I've never had to pay for ice at a hotel ever! My wife grabbed a bad of ice, the morning of our last day. When we checked out, the owner never said good morning, thank you or how was your stay. With his hand half covering his mouth, the only thing he said was"you owe me for the ice you took". He has the worst disposition for someone who's in the "hospitality" business. The only reason I even gave one star is because it's in Boulder Junction. I wish the original owner's were still here. There are other places to stay in Boulder Junction, DON'T STAY HERE.…
We were looking for a motel that is pet friendly and luckily found Boulder Bear Lodge. The room was large and clean with easy access to the outside. The lobby is decorated with bears and Up North decor. They served a nice continental breakfast. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
