We recently stayed at the Monte Sella for a 1 week skiing holiday and the hotel is wonderful. You are made to feel genuinely very welcome as soon as you walk through the door and all of the staff are friendly, attentive and very helpful. The hotel is perfect for skiers as it is only a few minutes walk to the nearest ski lift and there was plenty of snow on the slopes when we visited in the Easter holidays. The hotel has a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere. It is very clean and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The only thing missing from the rooms are tea/coffee making facilities but this is really very minor as the rest of the experience is excellent. The spa facilities are excellent and very welcome after a day on the slopes and you can relax with a swim, a choice of 2 saunas and a steam room. These are also spotless and modern. The food is outstanding with a wide choice available at the breakfast buffet plus the kitchen is happy to cook eggs and pancakes to order. The dinner is a 3 course menu, which you choose from a menu in the morning, with a very nice salad buffet. The Head chef creates a wonderful dinner menu which includes many local dishes. You certainly won't go hungry. There is also afternoon tea available in the ski season which is much appreciated after a days skiing. The hotel also arranged a day of snow shoeing about a half hour drive from the hotel in a local nature park with a local guide. This was a fantastic experience and if it is offered I would absolutely recommend it. The owners, Norbert and his wife, Ana Christina are great hosts! They are always present and available. Norbert likes to try and catch up with all of his guests everyday to make sure everything is ok. I really can recommend Hotel Monte Sella for a great week in the snow with great food.

The hotel is just in front of the ski station. I stay there for small conference and the hotel location was perfect to go skiing during the lunch break. It's a family hotel with a very charismatic and charming owner that makes sure everybody feels at home. I had to leave early in the morning and, out of the blue, they prepared for me a picnic so that I could eat during the long trip to the Munich airport.

I stayed for a week in the Monte Sella hotel. I unreservedly recommend it. It is a cosy and charming hotel, with a very pleasant atmosphere, and all the staff is strongly dedicated to make you feel like at home. The manager is a close and reachable person, always caring for his guests, the premises are very comfortable and well-prepared, and they all treated us like their family. The food is fantastic (and in large quantities!), and the overall experience is definitely worth. Besides, the hotel is situated in an excellent location, with easy access to all the resources in the resort.

I was attending a small conference held at the Monte Sella. Hosting meetings is probably a bit unusual for them - they only had one small meeting room (which was a perfect size) - and they did a superb job. Nothing was too much trouble. We had very attentive service at the bar, in the restaurant, and in helping to rearrange the meeting room as and when needed. I had a very comfortable double room overlooking the ski slopes across the road (coincidentally, the Women's Grand Slalom world championship race was held during our stay). The room was too warm for my tastes, but exceptionally comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had breakfast and dinner provided during the conference. The food was excellent - well presented, well prepared, and with good choice. The breakfast buffet was terrific; during breakfast we were asked to choose our selections for dinner that evening (from choices of three starters, three mains and three desserts). There was something for everyone. I have to mention the staff at the Monte Sella. Starting with Norbert and his family, through to the fantastic staff in the restaurant and cleaning the rooms, it is an exceptionally well run, professional and friendly family hotel. In terms of location, it is right across the street from good ski slopes and a 15 minute walk from excellent cross-country trails. You can walk into the village in 5-10 minutes where there is a pharmacy and good supermarket, not to mention other nice restaurants and cafes. It's not always easy to get to South Tyrol - I flew in to Munich and then took a shuttle/taxi (about 4h drive); Innsbruck is closer but a less convenient airport - but it is well worth it!

Second visit with my family to Hotel Monte Sella. Really no reasons not to go back again. Perfect location at the beginning of the village and in front of the slopes with great views. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good food (loved the breakfast buffet) and a surprise almost every night. It is different from the traditional alpine decor being a liberty style building. My only negative comment is that some of the older rooms - like the one where we stayed - and the bar would need some renovation. Thanks Norbert & Family for the great hospitality
