This could be a lovely hotel with a few tweaks The good: Location is great. Rooms clean tidy and comfortable. The staff are great and the hotel is always being cleaned. Dennis the bar man. The not so good: The all inclusive alcohol has almost no alcohol content! The food was a bit repetitive but we expect that. The timings - there are long periods through the day when no food is available and the snacks consist of crisps or sandwiches. Top tips: Take the train to lake kournos it really is stunning. Petros place in the village serves great food. All in all we had a lovely few days but I wouldn’t stay here again. There was no atmosphere and if you’re young I’m sure you’ll be bored. Even a bit of music played by the pool could add to the ambience.

We initially booking into the Mare boutique hotel in the early hours, and due to having mobility issues and being told we would have a ground floor room they allocated a third floor room with no lifts. Stayed one night when they moved us down the road to the Mare blue suits hotel. We had a ground floor room next to my sister. The rooms were damp with visible signs of mould on the walls, my sisters room smelt badly. After one day the ceiling light fell out in the bathroom leaving exposed wires, reception was informed but to no avail. The hotel is in a good location but is limited on food, the later you left it the less choice there was. Very strict on drinks the all inclusive starts at 1030hrs not even a soft drink from the bar was available. Would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

This was the first time we’d done an all inclusive and the holiday was abit of a bargain so we went in a little apprehensive as to how good the hotel would be n the food especially… how wrong we were to worry! We had a truly lovely week and for us we can only recommend this hotel, the room was nicely decorated in a modern decor, staff amazing particularly of course Denis, as everyone mentions, and the reception staff went above and beyond with their assistance for us. Food was pretty good, I agree never seem to be hot but it’s tasty and does change a little daily although to really take in the culture and atmosphere of Crete I’d recommend eating out at least twice especially since Georgioupolis is such a wonderful traditional place. I do agree with the minor negatives most have mentioned I.e our top shower was dodgy too, bathroom always flooded, odd designs with the pool right in front of the dining area and maids were not consistent but it was such a wonderful experience and overall very likeable little hotel we still feel it deserves it’s 5 stars and praise. Definitely give this place a chance plus don’t forget it’s right across the road from the beach, stunning location 😍

As soon as we arrived we felt so so welcome. Nico on reception was so lovely. He sent us straight to Denis at the bar to get an all inclusive drink as it was 10:57pm when we arrived. We were starving as the transfer was quite long, however we got to the room and there was sandwiches and an apple ready for us! Such amazing service that they didn’t have to do. The sun loungers are very comfy - they do get hot so bring a big beach towel with you from home. Otherwise you pay a deposit for one of the hotel ones. The big sunbeds at the front are 20 euro but we stuck to the other ones as it meant you could move them to be in position for the sun. Other people visiting who weren’t staying in the hotel pay 7 euro for a normal sunbed. The beach isn’t amazing, it’s sort of dusty rather than sand but was nice. There aren’t any sunbeds by the pool but the pool was very refreshing and it’s good the hotel provides lilo and rubber rings. The food is very tasty… however a little bit cold. As previous people have mentioned most of the food comes from the sister hotel as it’s cooked there. We told the manager that the soup is quite cold, the next day it was boiling and so much nicer!! If he asks definitely tell him the truth about the food being cold and hopefully it’ll be much better afterwards like it was for us. There is limited seating. The restaurant seating is also the bar seating. The hotel was quite quiet when we stayed so luckily it wasn’t an issue getting a table and we rarely had to move as people hadn’t yet eaten. The manager knew our drinks off by heart so whenever he saw us he got a table and had the drinks ready every evening and lunchtime. I think in peak time the hotel should put seating on the beach as this may help their previous issue with not having enough seats. Or by booking an hour slot for when you come down for dinner. Evita and Brian were great. They cleared your plates straight away. Denis is the best barman. He played the best music - pink floyd and fleetwood mac. And always ensured you had a cocktail. His 5 euro cocktails for the day were unbelievable so they’re a must. The room was lovely and modern. Only issue was the shower - we couldn’t get the overhead shower to work and sometimes it went hot and cold. Once we reported it the last 2 days the overhead shower did work but the temperature was still quite hit and miss. We used the shower In the restaurant toilets as we had to check out of the room at 11 and that was fine if you’ve got a late flight. Would recommend doing the train ride to the lake for 5 euro. They’ve got good shops there too and the pedalos are hard work but fun. I’d also recommend going next door to Corssia hotel and going to their rooftop bar - was 7 euros a cocktail after 7:30pm and the view of sunset was amazing. Also go to the square and look at the fountains and maybe treat yourself to a meal out. Great atmosphere. Also walk in the middle of the sea is a beautiful church. Highly recommend this hotel. Only reason it’s not a 5 star is because of the Luke warm food and the shower issue. Would 100% come back. Thanks to the staff it’s truly amazing. Thankyou!!!

I had a relaxing stay at this hotel which overall I enjoyed. I’m disabled and use a stick, I found staff helpful and considerate especially Dennis the barman. Negatives: Minor ones, Meals could be hotter, rooms could be cleaned better (Sand covered our floor for duration of trip). Usual all inclusive fare and drinks but English breakfast could be improved with quality baked beans and decent bacon and sausages. Major negatives: Bathroom floods after shower due to bad design. This is extremely dangerous as it’s very slippery with no rails or safety features. I asked for a mop but the cleaner just mopped up, put some towels on the floor and left. Restaurant area is small and outdoors with insufficient cover it also acts as bar and poolside lounge. We got splashed a few times whilst eating. Again bad design. On our last day we were told there is a €20 for the sun loungers closest to the sea as it was high season. This is unreasonable as it’s not possible to lounge by the pool. Positives, most staff are friendly and helpful. Quite good service considering Staff seem to work long hours, looked like 12 hour days from my vantage spot overlooking the restaurant/pool. Manager was on site a lot while we were there. He was friendly, helpful and approachable. Bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. We had a late night flight but was allowed to keep our room until 2pm and stay on site and have meals and drinks until our transfer arrived at 8.30pm all free of charge. Unfortunately because of the major negatives I can’t give a 4 star rating but once these improvements are worked on this hotel will definitely be a 4 star with good potential.

Such a lovely hotel and perfect for that private couples retreat. The rooms were immaculate and modern and by far the best hotel in Georgioupolis area. The location is amazing! You are opposite the beach and have plenty of sun beds to choose from. Staff were always attentive and welcoming and go above and beyond their duties to make your holiday perfect and stress free. As you've seen from other reviews the bar man Dennis did not disappoint, the cocktails were always spot on and extremely tasty. Would definitely come back!! By far the best couples retreat we have been on, don't hesitate to book this hotel if you are looking for that perfect get away.

I checked in and was greeted with sandwiches which was nice as we checked in late but didn’t have any tea. However, when we walked into the room there were orange stains on the bed, duvet, pillow, wall and floor. We asked reception for a room change but we were told they can only give us new sheets for us to put on ourselves. The next day i asked to see the manager for a room change since it was overall not a clean room. I was told to wait till 10:30am to speak to her, but when i went back the receptionist told me i couldn’t speak to the manager and they found us another room - in the Deep Sea hotel. The rooms were not fully furnished, there were electricians/ painters in the stairways and paint peeling from the outside. The new room wasn’t to the standard we paid for so we declined the room change. Once again, i asked to speak to the manger but i was told again thats not possible. So i asked to have the room fully cleaned. Throughout our stay the sheets still had orange stains as-well as the wall, the floor and the sides. It is a shame since the food is amazing, the view is beautiful and the bar staff so welcoming. So overall the cleanliness of the hotel and management let us down which was unfortunate as the bar staff were amazing, the food was nice and the location is perfect.

This hotel and experience was the complete opposite of what I expected based on these reviews. 1st of all, the pictures of the room you recieve are deceptive. I paid for the most expensive room and recieved a twin room, I had no balcony, so had to use the landing with 0 privacy. They refused to change my room to the original one I booked and claimed that they was all reserved. I recieved no compensation. 2nd, my door would not lock. We could only lock it from the inside, which meant only one of us could go out at a time otherwise anyone could access our room. We ended up missing breakfast because they didn't come to fix the door until 11.30am the next day. 3rd, I arrived at night, and when I went to get in the bed, my pillow had a blood stain on it, the night receptionist Katy promptly dealt with this, but the experience made me feel uncomfortable sleeping in the bed. 4th, the bathroom floods, I am assuming its supposed to be a wet room but the way they have constructed it is extremely poor. It is a massive hazard as it is very easy to slip and hurt yourself. 5th, the maids do not clean the room thoroughly, they do the bare minimum. 6th, the restaurant is right next to the pool, which means you cannot swim comfortably. The seating is also limited so you may not get a table to sit down and eat. The food and drinks are ok. You have to pay daily tax upon arrival and you must check out of your room at 11am on the day of your departure. So if you have a night time flight, you'll have to find a way to keep yourself occupied. In all, this holiday has been a complete let down from start to finish, I absolutely would not return nor would I recommend. I booked this hotel based on the good reviews and my experience was far from. The only highlight to this experience was Dennis the barman. The staff are not as helpful as these reviews claim. I would advise that you choose a different hotel.
