We visited the lodge for dinner as part of our annual vacation to the area. Forty years and this was the first venture to the island resort. Our mistake was waiting this long. Be prepared for a less than 10 minute boat ride to the island. Plenty of history and remarkable Adirondack style original architecture. Dining areas are a real... More

We LOVED Stout's Island Lodge! We first learned of it through a show on Wisconsin PBS. Only criticism is the food in the restaurant was average - although I heard people saying the trout was very good. Beautiful setting - great history - attentive staff - exceedingly well-kept - a lot to do. We want to go back right now!... More

A 4 star hotel experience yet set in rustic (looking) cabins that look like they grew up with the trees on the island. The staff was amazing- friendly, cheerful, prompt. Common area games, docks and sitting areas makes for a convivial feel - inviting but not obligatory. The drive from Minneapolis is gorgeous on the back roads. It is far... More

This will become our yearly anniversary destination! Beautiful, serene, and well appointed we were taken care of from our first step on the ferry to our step off. With abundant beauty around, beautiful accommodations, gorgeous grounds, multiple lake activities, and spaces with opportunities for quiet reflection this island offers it all! Add to it the amazing service of the staff... More

We can't wait to go back! My husband and two daughters (ages 8 and 13) had the most wonderful 4-day vacation on Stout's Island. The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating, Wilson's cabin was very comfortable, and the gourmet food was amazing! I could have eaten the yogurt and homemade granola for every meal! I highly recommend the island... More

From the moment we walked to the ferry we were taken care of. As we approached the island the beauty was overwhelming. We were immediately taken with all of the history. We spent our time exploring - we did not get on the water because it was so windy. Sitting by the lake reading by day and the fire by... More

Stout's Island Lodge was the location of my dreams for my wedding--we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting for our special day. Half of our party was flying in from NC, so we loved the idea of our guests spending the entire weekend with us--more personal time with everyone! The pricing was quite reasonable, especially for the experience... More

Rain was predicted, but that didn't stop us from going to one of our all time favorite resorts. It was pouring when we landed on the Island Friday, but boat driver Doug came prepared with umbrellas for everyone. They'd even figured out how to cover our luggage so it wouldn't get wet as they delivered it to our rooms. A... More

If you love the outdoors, backyard games, and horrible food you are in luck! Stout Island Lodge is a fantastic get away. We took a short boat ride out to the island provided by the staff free of charge. Once we were out on the island we were able to relax, play some lawn games and imagine simpler times. All... More
