Detailed Reviews
We are repeat customers of Cameo Rose since the late '90's and in all that time Dawn and Gary continue to maintain and exceed their high standards of hospitality. Dawn decorates for the holidays and often serves special treats in the afternoon such as brownies, cider, mulled wine - nice to return to after a day of shopping, hiking, etc. In addition the property is an easy drive to many small towns and Madison. If you need to get away to relax and deccompress, this is an excellent choice.

My Wife and I Book The Cameo Rose B&B Bellview Wisconsin For Our Special occasion (50th Anniversary) I Was looking for Something around the New Glaurs area and found their site and called Dawn to make the arrangements. The site showed many pictures when we arrived We were not disappointed. The beauty of the area was so beautiful and breathtaking. Dawn greeted us at the door and showed us the beautiful home and our Suite everything was decorated so tastefully and thoughtful for the comfort and relaxation of the guests. Dawn specialises your Breakfasts to your liking as far as ingredients and style. We were catered to and pampered like no other, we have stayed at many B&B's over the years and have to say this is our favorite
We walked through the trails their extensive property and took in the beautiful Wisconsin beauty so peaceful and relaxing. Everything was beyond our expectations. We cannot recommend the Coral Rose B&B enough

Dear Dave & Terry--First of all, my apologies for not responding to your fabulous review earlier. (My computer went out mid-June and I missed the notice from Trip Advisor about your review.) I so appreciate your detailed and personalized comments as they tell a story that makes me want to stay here, too! (As a guest.) :) Thanks a million for taking the time to do this. I hope you are recuperating nicely and all healed by now. As the first guests we took after being closed for over 3 months, we could not have enjoyed a nicer couple or been more reassured that this would be able to work. Sending blessings and prayers to you both. Hugs, Dawn & Gary

My husband and I enjoyed Cameo Rose for our 44th anniversary get away. Cameo Rose out did themselves to make our stay safe and enjoyable during Covid-19. Dawn created hot and delicious breakfasts served up individually to enjoy on the porch or screened in gazebo. She accommodated my diet sensitivities with muffins baked up just for me. Unlimited fresh brewed coffee started our morning. Later in the day, Dawn offered lemonade and an evening snack besides! She advised us on the bike trail conditions and great recommendations for evening meals. The best part was the quiet and great views of green and sunsets!

So much thought and passion put into this gem of a bed and breakfast! Beautiful grounds and amazing breakfasts. The charm of the decor and the hospitality that Dawn and Gary give made our weekend so amazing. Extra details like fresh baked cookies and hot apple cider in the afternoon just added to the incredible experience. Thanks for making us feel so welcome! (Make sure you try Chef Gary’s classic fresh chilled breakfast ice-water cocktail 😀)

First, we were delightfully in awe of the private country setting at the end of a long driveway and the inviting, beautiful exterior of the Cameo Rose Inn. We spent every morning on the cozy wrap around porch being waited on like queens with a breakfast that no one makes like Dawn! With endless cups of coffee and every single bite of breakfast leaving you with a mini burst of flavor. The flower gardens are beautifully and thoughtfully scattered throughout the property gifting visitors with butterflies and hummingbirds. Our suite was an inviting, relaxing retreat after a long day of touring local towns. We especially loved the tasteful Victorian rose decoration style. We sipped wine in our provided, fluffy white robes and divulged ourselves in Dawn's sweet treats left just for us in our room. The beds are soft and so comfortable and we slept like angels. We especially loved exchanging stories with Dawn and enjoyed taking in the stars and deer sightings from the porch at night. We are seasoned travelers and this was by far our best stay at an Inn anywhere. We did not want to leave and felt like we discovered a kindred sister in the Inn Keeper. Don't hesitate, make a reservation and you will not be disappointed in anything!

Enjoyed another special weekend at our favorite B & B. Went for a romantic evening walk at dusk after an excellent dinner. Admiring the beautiful grounds . Waking up to breakfast on the porch that was excellent stuffed French toast. The host Dawn treats you like royalty. She makes every guest feel special and goes out of her way to accommodate you as well as be a wealth of information on the best restuarants and local events . That is why we keep returning to our special romantic getaway. We highly reccomend Cameo Rose.

Cameo Rose Victorian Country Inn is the best B&B that I have ever stayed in! Our group of four friends stayed in in the combination Victorian Cottage Group Suite, which includes a living room with a fireplace and king size bed and a second bedroom with 2 queen size beds, plus one full bathroom, and The White Eyelet Room, which has a queen size bed and full bathroom. There is a total of 5 lovely guest rooms, and when we arrived on a Thursday, we were told that we would have the entire home to ourselves until the following evening. The hosts, Dawn and Gary, were very gracious, constantly asking us if they could do anything for us, offering beverages and snacks at cocktail time, and if we were out of the house at that time, we would find the treats left out for us to enjoy when we returned.
The home is set on several acres of land and is very secluded and extremely quiet, except for the sounds of birds chirpping. There is a screened gazebo beside a lovely pond, and several other outdoor seating areas. They are located just a few minutes drive from Madison, and a short 2 1/2 hour drive from Chicago.
The highlight was the fantastic breakfasts that Dawn and Gary presented to us each morning! Each meal contained 4 courses, ranging from poached pears, to raspberry muffins, to eggs benedict, to sherbert to complete the meal. (Other main courses were stuffed french toast and crustless quiche.). Dawn would describe the ingredients in each course before serving it. We never needed to eat a lunch the entire time we stayed there!
We had a wonderful stay at Cameo Rose, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is planning to visit the Madison area.

Thank you so very much for your wonderful review! It was our pleasure to host such a lovely group of ladies who were a delight to have in our B&B home! I really appreciate your taking the time to present lots of detail and also wanted to mention that we have slightly more than "several acres"--120 to be exact--that surround you with the ultimate in peace and quiet. We are pleased that you were able to reconnect and reminisce and spend several days together. We hope you will all return soon! Thanks again for being such wonderful guests! Dawn & Gary

+1
Two nights at Cameo Rose made us feel like royalty. Dawn treated us so well with her friendliness and service that we lacked nothing. The place is a true paradise for us in terms of location and amenities. We did a three-mile hike along the well-groomed trails, enjoying some great views of the Wisconsin countryside from the hilltops and experiencing forest bathing in the mature white pine stands. The grounds are beautiful and provide restful outdoor seating. It’s easy to drive into Madison for events and quiet when you return at night. The food is amazing! Fresh, organic and local. Four courses at breakfast with such a fancy table setting. We would go back again!

Thanks to Dawn and Gary for a wonderful stay at Cameo Rose. The wrap around porch in the fresh air was a quiet and favorite spot for us to read and enjoy the afternoon treats Dawn baked for us. The full home made breakfasts were so delicious along with the friendly conversation. Dawn enjoys keeping her guests satisfied and it shows. We appreciated the extra health precautions evident during these Covid 19 times. We hope we can return again in near future.

Are you ready to get your Cameo Rose Calm on? I was feeling stressed with city life and knew I needed to just get away. The Cameo Rose was just what I needed. I biked down from Fitchburg and it was easy to find and less than a mile off the bike path. I intended to explore more of the bike paths but once I got to the bed and breakfast, I didn't want to leave! There are so many places to just sit and write or meditate in the incredible gardens Dawn has created. If the mosquitoes come out, she even has a screened gazebo nestled in the pine trees next to the pond where the toads are croaking. My absolute favorite was the veranda where I was often visited by hummingbirds. The Bed and Breakfast has over 4 miles of trails to walk among the pines and walnut trees. It was sublime to connect with the birds, deer and wildlife with no road traffic or city noise. Dawns culinary meals and treats were a delight to wake up to and her attention to detail will make your retreat memorable. A stay at the Cameo Rose is a hidden gem that is quiet and peaceful but still close to everything in the Madison Area. You never have to stay in a boring noisy hotel ever again. I know I will be returning as soon as possible!

Thank you for your wonderful review! The roses growing around the front porch are Hansa roses, an old-fashioned rugosa. I love them, too! I have William Baffin rambling roses on the rose gazebo. They require a sturdy structure as they certainly do "ramble". Both are easy care and hardy. You should be able to find them at any good garden center that sells roses. Hope to see you again to stay and smell the roses. :)
