What an amazing place! Trudy and Dave created and built this gorgeous place, with some help from friends and family! They have thought about absolutely everything! The inn itself is spectacular. Each room is decorated with a theme — they are all lovely and have their own “personality.” The communal spaces are gorgeous — welcoming and comfortable. There is even an elevator so you do not need to carry your luggage up or down. The view is simply stunning. Mother Nature brought a bit of fog for our visit … and it was still gorgeous! Afternoon happy hour is a delight with Dave tending bar and Trudy sharing snacks. Trudy is a fantastic cook, and her breakfasts we delicious! The inn is definitely a place to add to your bucket list! We cannot wait to return!
The best hidden gem in the Baraboo Hills area of South Central Wisconsin. Dave and Trudy are the most amazing hosts! The Inn is set at the top of hills and the view of the Lake Wisconsin valley is breathtaking. You will not be disappointed with your stay here. 5 stars! Highly recommended!
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during the winter. The first thing that gets you is the unbelievable view. The house is nestled on a hill in the woods with one of the best views you will ever see. The house itself is stunning as well. Dave and Trudy are very gracious hosts who have invested a ton of time to create a delightful experience. The breakfast was amazing and our personal favorite was the wine and cheese hour with an amazing cheese board all included! Being there in the winter, there were a ton of awesome winter activities to do, from snowshoe trails to cross country skiing. Also, you are only 10 minutes to Baraboo and a half hour to the Dells, so there was a ton for us to do. Great location and extremely relaxing stay. Would recommend to anyone looking for time away.…
We needed to have a quick getaway. This Inn is amazing! We were here the last weekend in October and it was wonderful. Unbelievable views, hospitality and comfort. Dave and Trudy are great inn keepers, very friendly and informative. We had the Secret Garden room which worked out great for us, private access to patio. It was too cool to sit outside but the view from the room was unbelievable over looking Lake Wisconsin and I got to watch the bird life (feeders). Their fur babies Sampson and Delilah were so friendly and so enjoyable to be around, although they were not over baring for those not into dogs (but who isn’t).😉 breakfasts and social hour we so enjoyable. We were pleased that they have an elevator for those in need. Next time we visit we are hoping to enjoy the fire pit and a little hiking with trails right outside the doors. Best B&B we ever stayed at. …
We have stayed at many B&B’s over time and think this is among the best if not the best. The Inn and the grounds are fantastic and impeccably maintained. Dave and Trudy are great hosts and seem to enjoy their time with their guests. There was really pleasant conversation during what is an impressive nightly wine and cheese gathering and at breakfast with way too many good things to eat. Finally, the official greeters and guides, Samson and Delilah(the resident canines), were great hosts as well for a few days of hiking around the property and Devils’s Lake.
Wawanissee provides the best B&B experience you will ever have. Trudy and Dave spoil you and you will never find another inn to live up to your now heightened expectations. Be sure to ask the canine trail guides, Samson and Delilah, to accompany you on a hike on the inn's private trails.
The Inn and owners, Dave and Trudy, are superb! The location, food, views, hiking and nearby attractions are wonderful. While the Inn was completed in 2004, its design and materials are of such a fine quality that they must be seen to be believed. Family members had much to do with this custom creation and evidence of those ingredients and attention to detail abound. Bartender Extraordinaire, Dave, and Outstanding Chef, Trudy, supplied great drinks, food and conversations. We will return in the Fall to again enjoy all of the Inn's greatness and the colors of the season. Complimentary reviews by others are true. Of the many B&Bs we have visited over the years the Inn at Wawanissee Point has topped our list.
Aside from the stunning view, one will be hard pressed to find better or more hospitable Inn Keepers than Dave and Trudy, they have thought of all the little touches that make your stay so welcoming and pleasant. The Happy hour is warm and inviting and their breakfast is fantastic. One must try some of Trudy's home baked goodies. Dave and Trudy strike a great balance between being approachable and engaging in conservation while leaving you to your privacy and self-reflection. You can lose yourself for hours wondering around the trails on their 42 acres, the solitude and fauna are amazing. One can't help but sit for lengthy time periods on the patio or deck a lose themselves in God's wonder while overlooking Lake Wisconsin and the valley below the property. The Inn at Wawanissee is highly recommended, without hesitation.…
I can't say enough about this wonderful magical place. My husband and I did a three day escape here and we had the best time. The hosts are so kind and warm, the area is gorgeous and Samson and Delilah and wonderful pups you lead you on the right path on the trails. I can't wait to come here again.
What can I say about the Inn at Wawanissee Point that hasn't already been said in prior reviews? It's all true! We recently spent a weekend at the Inn and enjoyed a very relaxing and welcoming stay! We arrived on Friday, just in time for Happy Hour! After checking in, Trudy gave us a quick tour of the Inn. And after hauling our luggage to our room and freshening up, we went to the bar where we found our host Dave pouring drinks for 2 other couples. Soon Trudy emerged with a dee-licious cheese tray, and the party was on! After chatting amiably with our hosts and the other couples for an hour or so we headed out for dinner at a local restaurant--the Driftless Glen--where we enjoyed a wonderful meal. There are many great restaurants in the Baraboo area near the Inn--Fields, Tumbled Rocks, and the Del Bar to name a few. Saturday morning we started our day with coffee and Trudy's fabulous homemade breakfast. Afterwards we hiked the on-grounds trails accompanied by Sampson and Delilah, their two dogs, then we headed out for a much longer hike. We parked the car in the Steinke Basin parking lot off of Hwy DL and hiked the park service road out to the rocky bluffs overlooking the south shore of Devil's Lake. Phew! A nice afternoon hike! We made it back to the Inn in time for the Saturday happy hour and another round of wine and cheese! We had a room on the ground floor--the Secret Garden--which had a queen bed and was cozy and comfortable. The Inn and grounds were impeccably decorated and well-maintained, and we were informed that the Inn was built by Dave and Trudy from the ground up. Quite impressive! After another great breakfast on Sunday morning we regrettably packed our bags and checked out of the Inn--but not before booking another stay a few months down the road. Thank you to Dave and Trudy for a relaxing weekend getaway in a luxurious, welcoming environment! We will definitely be back! -Tom & Diane…
