I will admit that I was a little nervous about staying here after reading the recent reviews. I am happy to report that this is a fabulous private campground. The grounds are very clean and there are a lot of large trees that provide shade. I was happy about the 11pm quiet time. My friends and I were waking up... More

We are a quiet, Christian family. We did not appreciate the owner, Mark creeping around our site at night, waiting for us to go above a whisper. We had heard bad things from friends but decided to give it a try, but never again! There are many, many other family-friendly campgrounds to choose from. Heed the bad reviews, I wish... More

We're so glad you decided to enjoy the natural beauty of Devil's Lake and Wheeler's Campground! There is an 11pm quiet hour, and we do respond to noise complaints any time of day for the well being of all our campers. The majority of people who stay with us appreciate the quiet, peaceful camping experience WCG offers. More

Do not go to this campground; there are many many other campgrounds in the baraboo area that are cleaner, nicer, and don't have the owners creeping around spying on your family at night! We went with our 2 kids, 10 and 12, very shy & quiet kids, and were accused of making noise at night (our neighbors were being a... More

It is our responsibility to respond to noise complaints. We do this in a straightforward manner: approach the site from the road, flashlight in hand, and identify ourselves as the owners of the campground. We share the grievance and usually campers are receptive and understanding. It sounds like maybe your family was mistakenly identified as 'noisy'. Our apologies for any... More

This is a fantastic campground! Family oriented and right outside of Devli's Lake State Park. The bathrooms are clean with hot water for showers. The sites are beautiful. Some are more remote than others. If you want to party all night, this is not the place to go. If you want a nice, clean campground where you can get some... More

We called and told them what time we would arrive being at 9 PM, hoping it would not be a problem, they met us with smiles and said you arrived a few minutes early. Mark and Lollie were very nice and yes i red the reviews and was comprehensive but everything was great. Very nice people and very resourceful. We... More

The owners are so helpful in the knowledge of the area. They keep the campground really clean. They maintain a family friendly campground and have several seasonal campers. They have wood for fires and a great store.

Our 8 year old son absolutely loves bugs and nature. This year he started asking us to take him camping in a tent. My cousin informed me that she was going camping for the 4th of July with her husband and children. We decided to go with them. We really wanted to have a great experience. We asked for a... More

When these folks checked in I explained the designated parking area and said " DO NOT MOVE THE BOULDERS". I explain this to every camper I check in on Site #66. We have these boulders to keep vehicles out of the site area to protect fragile tree roots. Marc noticed the moved boulder and vehicle in the site when he... More

A good friend recommended Wheelers so we checked it out at the beginning of the season season and fell in love! We are now completing our second visit which was 7 days over July 4th weekend. I've been camping at Wheeler's for quite a few years now, what keeps my family coming back is how quiet and clean the place is every time. The size of the camping sites is enormous, never camped at a place offering such well maintained large sites. To say it's clean and well maintained is an understatement. The Campground is very...
