We just got back from a 3 night stay at Fox Hill. We had a full hook up pull through G19 for our 5th wheel camper.
We spent a lot of time away from the campground, but when we were there it was wonderful. Very clean grounds, quiet after quiet time, ample trash receptacles, firewood delivery, stocked store and a good sized pool.
The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do in the area. Just a short drive to anywhere you want to go in the Dells/Baraboo area.
We had firewood delivered to our site and that was extremely convenient. They offered a coupon where you buy 4 bundles at $5 each you got the 5th free. The wood was kind of small but got the job done. My husband just prefers larger logs rather than what appeared to be leftover construction material. Still a good value though.
We only used the pool one time (Sunday evening). The campground was fairly empty as I think most people left Sunday. The pool was chilly but refreshing. The air temp hadn't been overly warm so that is kind of to be expected. Other than the pool they have a great playground area, peddle cars, and other outdoor games. Plenty to keep the kids busy.
The grounds themselves are very clean and the sites are very level. We did not have to level our unit at all. Which was PERFECT.
Overall, we will be back to Fox Hill. There wasn't anything I would change. They seem to be a little more expensive than other campgrounds in the area, but the amenities were worth it and the large sites helped too!

bethbD11281B, We appreciate the review. We wanna let you know that we have this summer had various different batches of wood. This has allowed us to have thicker wood pieces as well as more of a hard and soft wood style wood. For the price of our wood we are satisfied with it as it is some of the cheapest wood around. We happy to hear the input and will be looking into this for you. Always remember the gas station has some wood as well, I think it is more log style. Its more expensive but be more of what your looking for. We again appreciate the feedback and we will look into this. We also are happy to hear that your stay was great for you and your family. Hope to see you again, Aaron, Hailey, Oliver and Lincoln!

We stayed from a Friday to Sunday and were super happy with our stay. We had a single room cabin which was quite spacious. You will need to bring your own linens for the bed as they do not provide them in the cabin. The personal grounds around the cabin were plentiful! Complete with a picnic table, grill and fire pit. Lots of trees cover the RV, tent & cabin spots. There is an area open to the sun free of trees that
looked to be RV / camper only spots. The patio / deck of the cabin had two chairs and a small table. The campground itself, is HUGE! Playground with equipment, basketball court, yard games (yard connect four, jenga, chess, bags) pool (which was not operational durning our stay) swimming pond, disc golf.
The office has campground needs, firewood, ice, gift shop and some food for sale. There is a mini arcade in the office as well. You can have pizza, ice, firewood
and some other things delivered to your site, free of charge. The staff members were friendly. The bathroom / shower house is well maintained.
Cons: bathroom / shower facility cleaning schedule, shower temp not consistent, goes from cold to extreme hot, then warm then back to extreme hot and so on; strict 5mph speed limit throughout the grounds even though staff golf carts are traveling faster and we have witnessed cars/trucks traveling faster than 5mph. I think Fox Hill needs to figure a way to enforce the speed rule; The firewood they sell is a bundle of thinner slivers that burn quickly. None of their bundles have "logs"; The A/C unit in the cabin cooled the room, but didn't feel like enough, which made for a warmer sleep.

Slicktrix09, We appreciate the review and bringing some of the little details to light for us. We have worked on a few things since this review was left. The showers are free, and hooked up through a mixing valve. We have looked into why your shower was on and off from hot to cold. We have chatted with out team on the speed of the golf carts. We have toned them down internally to offer a slower ride. We have speed bumps, signs, tell people at check in and even come chat with our guests when we catch them going to fast within our park. We don't fully understand why people feel the need to travel in any business area faster than the speed limit signs. We actually have two styles of wood this year. A thinner style and a log style, this also depends on what is available at the time as wood shortages this past year have been an all time high. I wish we would have known what cabin the ac unit was in as we could have looked into it and asked a few questions to try to figure out the problem. We always like to hear what is wrong while you are here so we can try and fix the issues. We super appreciate the review and hearing how your stay was. This goes along way for us to help better the park. Hope to see you all again soon. Thank you

We had a great experience at Fox Hill. We came in on a Saturday evening. After having a blowout of one of our tires on the highway, it was good to be there. I checked in at the desk with the owner. I was worried we wouldn't fit into our spot, but he was very accommodating. The spot next to us was empty for the duration of our stay and he quickly offered up that spot to us as well. My husband was able to fit our rig in our original spot, but for a newbie, it may have been difficult. We weren't able to put put our awning, but it wasn't a problem until it rained the last day. The owner happily offered for us to use both sites for our stay, so we parked our truck on the extra spot. It was very busy on the day we pulled in, as to be expected on the height of vacation season. On Sunday, a lot of people cleared out and we had a nice quiet time the rest of our stay. I had a long conversation with the owner on our last day, he was very friendly, sharing about how he got into the business. I was very interested, as this is a dream of my husband and I. As for the accommodations, the shower house was extremely clean as were the bathrooms by the pool. The grounds all seemed to be well taken care of. They are doing a lot of upgrades, just opened up a new simming pond that they just installed. It looked very nice. We have stayed at countless campgrounds. We have been doing a lot of camping the past 15 years with our children. This was a very nice, well kept campground with friendly owners. We would stay here again!

I dont like to write bad reviews but....if I am paying a little extra for a nice campground I do not want to clean the office bathrooms for three days removing feces particles off the toilets. The garbage cans in the bathrooms are overflowing on the floor and the floor itself....well I think you get the point. This campground is beautiful but needs a little hygiene management.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve our business. We work hard to provide exceptional service and we are sorry to hear your experience wasn't up to our usual high standard. Our bathrooms are cleaned many times through the day but we do agree the ones by the office get dirty faster. We are still searching for the best way to maintain cleanliness in them. Had they been as dirty as described, letting our office know would have been nice so we could have taken care of them for you. Please never wait days if you find a problem. If you are up by the office we ask that you please as you walk by the office door stop in and let us know if there is ever any issues. We are working extremely hard during this pandemic and take reviews like this very serious. Thank you again, and have a great day! ( Since the next review is from the same family we will respond to that review with the same information.) Thank you

Thought this was going to be a great place
Our site was just weeds. We parked on sand. I don't think there is a level site in our section. Our site was reserved
on line several months ago. I also reserved a site next to ours for my son. Unfortunately he has to cancel and that was a week after made the reservation. They do not refund any cancellations and they take all the money up front. They will allow you to come back anytime the rest of the year and use the reservation but that doesn't work when you live in Fl. They also let you use the credit in the store. That's what we did.

Hello, we really wish people would come chat with us while they are here. We have Saftey sites to move you invade sites aren’t up to perfection for you. We could have took care of you if this was brought to our attention.. we do apologize about any possibility of weeds as I’m guessing you came during our 4 week drought we had a few weeks ago. We where letting the grass get a little longer than normal because of this. We do apologize we try to work with you, the weather, and the grounds. All our official Rv sites besides the d section witch is designed for pop ups are all gravel feel base for your camper. We also apologize about the cancellation policy but that is the policy that is set up for this business and is told to all guests at the time of booking. In order for us to take your credit card you have to ok the policy. It’s great to hear that you still took advantage of the credit. We hope you have safe travels and hope to possibly see you again where we can fix any issues. Thank you

Upon days of research, we made our decision to book this campground as the photos, aerial videography, and reviews raved about this RV Park & Resort. We have camped for over 10 years, mostly out of our fifth wheel camper and we consider ourselves seasoned campers. We booked our week long stay and upon our arrival, it was immediately apparent that this park spent thousands on advertising, we simply did not get what we were expecting. The roads are dirt/gravel, not paved, although aerial footage presents all of the roads to be paved. The entire park is under construction. If you intend on leveling your unit (camper, RV, popup, etc.), plan to bring lots of levelers as it is nearly impossible to level your unit. The newly constructed area is far from being finished, the bathhouse/restroom is rough and water was not turned on to this facility during our stay. Campsites are small and your neighbors are very close in the newly constructed section. It appears an addition to the current campground was made very quickly to a plot of ground, with little consideration to any leveling measures being made. Be prepared for the camp store to close at 5pm Monday-Friday, not a huge deal, but ice cream after an evening swim is always nice, but not an option here during the week. Spend a little more money and stay at a true resort, this is anything but a resort. We were determined to enjoy our week, and we did by going offsite daily and enjoying the company of our fellow travelers.

Dear Family, We are sorry that your stay wasn’t as you expected. Is it possible to speak with you? We would like to do our best to address your issues. We do apologize that our newest bathhouse is in the final finishing phase. We expected it to be completed this Spring. You make comments about false advertising and our expenses on advertising. Please know that all photography, videos, and drone footage of our Campground are done in house. There are no falsely shown black top photos on our site. We are family oriented, keeping our grounds as natural as possible. We are sorry for any confusion there, our website / social media show actually the opposite of what you said. Our office has shortened hours midweek to allow us a little family time, however we do accommodate guests after hours. There is a phone number on our door for anyone that would like assistance. We have opened our doors many times after hours to get people ice cream. You didn’t try to get ice cream after hours.. While you were here a week, we wish you could have stopped in our office to voice your concerns, giving us the opportunity to improve your experience. We want all our guests to have the most enjoyable stay possible. To say some of the hurtful things and false things in your review really does hurt a family ran business, especially since we didn’t see you stop in once during your 7 days here and bring any of this stuff up. Thank you

Earlier this month I submitted a review and it has been removed. Apparently, bad reviews are buried or removed. My visit was very unpleasant. Camp sites were less than 10ft apart, cabin sites were the same. Campers outside the cabin door. Owner was very confrontational, micro-managing exact camper placement and constant patrolling the sites for infractions. Firewood costs were ridiculous and restrictions on guests were even more so.
Very crowded place. Photos are on their website is very misleading.

Karen, Thank you for taking the time to address your problems with your visit. We did respond to your last review as well. However, we want to make it clear we did not remove it. First of all, we are sorry to hear you had an unpleasant time at our camp. It is our understanding you were a guest to a camper who rented a site here, as you were the only one who had an issue with staff in this weekend you are referring to. We came to talk to you after your extremely rude interactions with our staff- who were only doing their jobs. I believe our talk was pleasant- had it not, you would have been removed from our property given the actions made by you in our office. We watch for camper placement and we also patrol our camp for safety as well as to see if guests need anything. We get stopped often while we are on the grounds for firewood, ice, general questions often. We have just under 200 sites here at Fox Hill and keeping our guests safe, especially children, is a priority. We have rules set in place that each registered guests receives via Email as well as in person when they arrive- ultimately it is up to each site to follow the rules. If a site is talked to, its typically for a good reason- safety. Our firewood cost is $5/bundle (we even give a coupon at check in) which is typical for campgrounds in the area. We have found most are $6-$10. We do not force you to buy from us either. Had you asked, you could have purchased from another source within 15 miles of our camp. There are plenty of places that sell the approved wood- closest place being 1/2 mile down the road. As for site spaces- each site is different in length. We understand that some sites are smaller than others. To help relieve the pressure of the small sites, we just built a brand new section that has HUGE green spaces to them. Again, thank you for the review. Have a great day we hope you find a campground that better fits your needs.

This was our second visit this summer and we were even more pleased this time. They have added a swimming pXond where you can swim or kayak and the depth works for children or adults. The owners continue to put money into improving the campsite. The camp sites we pick have a good amount of shade. Neighbors are friendly too.

4 families rented 4 deluxe campsites for long weekend. Everyone had a wonderful time. This is a family friendly place with activities for everyone but especially children. Fox Hill is also in a perfect location about halfway between Baraboo/Devils Lake & Wisconsin Dells. We all are planning our return trip next year.

We are new to camping and wanted to try our 'new to us' pop up camper. We went up at the end of April and stayed until early May. We picked Fox Hill because they were clean looking and the grounds were beautiful. My wife's immune system is compromised due to the medications she's on so we were very nervous about getting out during this pandemic. Erin and his staff at Fox Hill made us feel very safe. They were cleaning the bathrooms every hour. We extended our first 3 days and then extended again....and then again. 11 days! We truly enjoyed our experience. and now we're heading back up for another 7 after a week at home. It's simply wonderful for my wife to be outside at a campground. We HIGHLY recommend Fox Hill to anyone. You can social distance in a physically and mentally healthy way!!! Family business and they're doing a wonderful job!
