It was a wonderful long weekend stay. Clean, quaint, excellent service. Right on the water with a private beach.

The breakfast served was grab and go and delivered right to the door based on our breakfast time request. Warm pastries, fresh fruit, variety of yogurt and juices.

The room was picturesque and the bed very comfortable. All the rooms are on the back of the Inn and have private balconies overlooking the water. Very happy with room selection.

The location is perfect, we did not need to drive at all, very close and walkable (5-7min) to outdoor bars, shopping, ice cream, and the harbor. Perfect location.

Bailey’s Harbor is not a crazy busy spot and it was great for a low key long weekend. We plan on returning to the harbor and the Inn.

We spent three nights here to explore Door County. Brian, the owner is very accommodating and attentive to the needs of his quests. The facility is an older three floor structure-at least the building we stayed in-and has been nicely maintained and decorated. You feel like you're in a New England B&B. We were concerned about noise from guests above us, but heard little. The reason may be that he restricts children and we approve of that. Most of the guests appeared to be middle to older couples. The rooms are nicely decorated and exude charm. We had a good second story balcony which provided a beautiful view of the bay.

Door County was the last leg of a grueling road trip. I'm so happy I discovered the Blacksmith Inn. it was a perfect spot to rest up and relax for 3 nights before returning home. I chose it because it's an adults-only establishment. The west side of Door County is congested and crowded but Bailey's Harbor is quiet. Our room on the first floor but up a flight of stairs from the lobby was spotless and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the binoculars and book on bird in the armoire; we made good use of it gazing out over the marsh and shore from our porch seats. Breakfast was delivered exactly at the time we ordered it and was very good. The blueberry muffins were even warm. We enjoyed the fact that the restaurants in the village are within walking distance.

In short, for adults, it's a great place to stay.

We stayed here for the first time this winter. As one walks into this historic location, we stayed in the older unit, it reflects the charm and warmth of the past. It is filled with antiques, a welcoming fireplace, and the rooms are charming and comfortable. One note, we stayed during the week and enjoyed great rates. They serve a great breakfast, which is included.

This was our second visit to this wonderful B&B and we will definitely be back next year. Enjoying the beauty of the harbor right outside our window was amazing. I love birdwatching and sitting on our deck with my Merlin app at hand made for a great experience. The bed was very comfortable and we had an amazing and restful time. Breakfast was delivered unobtrusively to our room at the precise time we requested it. There are so many choices for breakfast that you could easily stay a week and not have the same combination twice, unless you wanted to. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. While there currently aren't staff to refresh the rooms daily, each time we placed used towels or glasses outside the room, they were quickly taken away and replaced with clean ones within minutes. Magic! This inn is definitely our happy place!

We spent 3 nights here and were overjoyed with our decision to stay on "The Quiet Side" after years of staying in Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, and Ephraim. We stayed in Room 13 and had a wonderful king-size bed. The room was beautifully decorated and we really appreciated all the space for toiletries etc in the bathroom. I was initially disappointed that there wouldn't be a communal breakfast like most B&Bs offer, but soon saw the advantage of having a delicious breakfast delivered to our room. (If you have the option, the chocolate croissant and breakfast croissants are truly wonderful!) Being able to sit on the balcony outside our room and watch and hear the diversity of birds nearby was extraordinary and made the one rainy day we had enjoyable. Many good restaurants in Door County are within an easy drive, but I'd highly recommend Chives, which is in Baileys Harbor and a short walk away. And while the state parks are all very nice, definitely walk over to The Ridges Sanctuary which features a wooden walkway so you can travel through the marshes without disturbing the natural beauty of the area. One of the walkways leads you to a small pond full of bullfrogs which were full-throated and visible in and on the water lilies nearby.

We were only able to stay here one night as the inn was fully booked the remainder of our planned days in Door County; my husband said he wished we could have stayed here the whole time. We stayed in Room 6 (3rd Floor Zahn House) and although I was nervous about the sloped ceilings, it was actually quite spacious and comfortable. Very charmingly decorated. We caught most of the sunrise over the harbor and wished it had been warm enough to sit out on the attached deck during our stay.

Due to COVID, the inn provided a breakfast menu that we were to mark with our selections and desired timing and hang on our door at night, and in the morning our meal was set outside our door. It was not a gourmet B&B breakfast but it was a sufficient and tasty meal to start our day. The inn also offers complimentary cookies and popcorn in the lobby.

We enjoyed the jetted tub and fireplace and would stay here again.

The location is perfect for exploring Door County. The grounds are very well kept and pretty. The room itself was very nice ...beautiful primitive decor and a large spacious bathroom. Unfortunately the mattress was so crazy firm & hard that it left us both in a lot of pain. Also the breakfast is not anything special at all if that matters to you. It is a "Grab and Go" style breakfast/not homemade and over 3 days the same exact breakfast choices were offered each day ...reheated frozen foods, lenders bagels, some fruit. Coffee, tea and cold drinks available all day and there was popcorn & a cookie in the afternoon. Also wanted to mention that the mini fridge in our room froze everything we had even after turning it down.

We aim to give every guest a stellar experience and we're sorry that we fell short in satisfying these folks. We have outfitted all our beds with very high quality firm mattresses, as we can make a firm mattress soft but not a soft mattress firm. For our guests who desire a softer mattress, we install a pillow top mattress on the bed and would have been happy to do so if they had mentioned the mattress to us during their stay. The fridge could have easily been rectified had we known. We keep spare TV's, fridges, coffee makers, etc. on hand. We're also sorry that our grab and go breakfast delivered to the door at the guests' time of choosing fell short of their expectations. We try very hard to make sure potential guests are aware of our breakfast offerings and are always happy to recommend any of our friendly competitors who do serve a full breakfast.

Our daughter and son in law recommended Blacksmith Inn for my 60th birthday weekend celebration. Precautions in place during the covid pandemic assured us of a safe stay. We used their bikes for a great ride to Cana Island that was recommended by the Inn Keeper. The balcony layout allowed us to visit with our family if we wanted or close the gate for privacy. We had a beautiful view of the bay.
It is within walking distance to restaurants, bars and a few shops. It is much quieter than other areas in Door County which we enjoyed. We will be back.

I don’t get HOW we haven’t stayed here until this year. What an absolute gem of Door County! We felt so so safe here during the pandemic- some businesses pretend to be covid compliant but Blacksmith Inn actually IS. room was lovely, balcony view perfect. The breakfast delivery to the door in the morning was amazing, and something I hope they continue post pandemic. It was such a luxury! Friendly staff, lovely location, great snacks and drinks available too! Thoughtful touches everywhere, like herb soak for the whirlpool. Only bummer was the walkway to the beach was closed, so we couldn’t get to take advantage of a private beach stroll! Will definitely recommend and be back!!

Thank you for your thoughtful review! The walkway that was rendered unusable due to high water last year was reconfigured yesterday making the shore accessible once again! This will allow us to offer the use of our kayaks and SUPs again as well as a beach stroll. Yahoo!!!!
