This was our first visit to Door County and the Blacksmith Inn made it memorable for all the right reasons. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful, and Sam gave us great recommendations for places to eat and visit. Our room, the inn, the decor, the gardens, and the delicious breakfast could not have been more perfect. We loved relaxing on the hammock and listening to the waves lap at the shore while watching the sun rise. There’s much more I could say, but you get the idea. We couldn’t have been more pleased, and we definitely can’t wait for our next visit!
We returned to the Blacksmith Inn and were impressed at the positive way the Inn has managed to make health and safety a priority while actually enhancing hospitality and generosity. The breakfast options delivered hot and fresh to our door were delicious, the room beautiful and clean, and the ability to make coffee in our room and have beverage options, cookies and popcorn available in the lobby were so generous and comforting. We enjoyed finding the bike shed and using some well maintained good quality bikes. The hospitality was great!
Our daughter and son in law recommended Blacksmith Inn for my 60th birthday weekend celebration. Precautions in place during the covid pandemic assured us of a safe stay. We used their bikes for a great ride to Cana Island that was recommended by the Inn Keeper. The balcony layout allowed us to visit with our family if we wanted or close the gate for privacy. We had a beautiful view of the bay. It is within walking distance to restaurants, bars and a few shops. It is much quieter than other areas in Door County which we enjoyed. We will be back.
We celebrated our one year anniversary at the Blacksmith Inn and decided to return again this year for our third. They make it so easy and safe to enjoy this small town. The breakfasts are delivered and you do not need to interact at all. Just relax on the beautiful porch and you can walk to pretty much anywhere to eat. We really enjoyed the chives food trucks. We wore masks and then practiced social distancing by hanging outside. I enjoyed the beautiful gardens in the morning. This place is the best. You will not regret booking here or enjoying this quaint town.
Bailey's Harbor and most of Door County is very quiet during the weekdays in the winter, but if you're looking for some peaceful, uncrowded vacationing, the Blacksmith Inn is for you! The inn is small so it's comfortable with its cozy spaces, great snacks (you had me at fresh popcorn every afternoon), interesting variety of beverages, water views and gracious innkeepers. Fresh muffins and an assortment of quick breakfast items were plentiful, just right for our visit. If you're lucky it will be mocha walnut muffin morning. : ) There were old fashioned snowshoes and plastic sleds for outdoor fun, but there wasn't much snow this week. The inn is within easy driving distance to many state and county parks that make for wonderful walks with gorgeous scenery, even in the cold. Binoculars were in the sitting room and our suite for birdwatching. Restaurants were within a block or two. We're so glad we stayed at the Blacksmith Inn!…
