Detailed Reviews
We stayed for three nights at Gordon Lodge in mid-September. The rooms at the Lodge are quite comfortable and were very clean. The Lodge appears to be following the CDC guidelines to the letter. There was not daily room service, but you could put out any trash or linens/towels that needed to be replaced and they were taken care of.
The small patio that overlooks the lake was a treat. The breakfast service was modified, but there were various types of meats, potatoes, eggs, fruits, etc. No complaints!

What a great stay at a great place! My family and I just visited last week and it was the first time we had gone anywhere since the pandmeic started. My parents had come up earlier in the Summer and gave the two thumbs up on their Covid-19 policy.
So this was the only place we would really even consider.
We were able to stay in our own cottage right on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. Everyone wore masks and the staffs attention to detail and cleaning were inpeccable.
This place was already our number one place to stay when visiting Door County already. They really raised the bar to help people like us, who were on the fence, feel safe and able to go on vacation again. And for that, we can't thank you enough!

Gordon Lodge is tucked back on the more secluded East side of Door County making it a drive from the busy west side. This is why I prefer it it! The grounds and cabins are impeccable with miles of trails that are empty of crowds great for social distancing. Enjoyed the free breakfast and the servers were so friendly and helpful. Walking the grounds and sitting on the benches overlooking the water was spectacular. Have Been going here for 40 years and it as better kept now that ever. Pool, private beach and free bikes makes it very kid friendly.

We stayed here July 1st-3rd. There was no need to leave the resort as there was plenty to enjoy. Firstly, we felt very safe here as all safety precautions were taken during Covid. Our room was in the lodge on the west side facing the North Bay. The view was beautiful, and there were all kinds of sitting areas with gorgeous views of the water, flowers, and landscaping. We loved the food at the restaurant; ribeye, salmon soup, and salmon appetizer. The complimentary breakfast was a complete , delicious meal. We enjoyed the walking paths and complimentary kayaks. The pool and hot tub area were very nice~we chose to go during a quieter time as most of the time there were well-behaved children in the pool. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
We will return again in the future, possible renting a cottage. Thank you for a relaxing stay! Laurie & Doug

This place is amazing the location the rooms the staff; very very special. The restaurant however just contract it out to a private company and they take one of the best locations for a restaurant in Door County and diminish it with mediocre food decor and service. Spending $200 on a dinner served on plastic tablecloth liners is ridiculous. They need to go take a look at chops in egg Harbor to see how it should be done. I asked if I could take a glass for wine back to my room they said no. I’ve never run into that . So after the first day we loved our stay there but ate in town
The cabins are wonderful and so are the motel rooms. We loved our stay there if they ever get a new company to run the restaurant it could be so amazing

We were here for a family wedding. Being one of the paying parents, I was very focused on value for the investment we were making in our child’s future.
A wedding is always more expensive than you want it to be. This one was somewhat of a surprise. The staff here are amazing, from the front desk through food service and wedding coordination. I truly fell that Gordon Lodge delivered on every promise that they made.
Our event coordinator, Amy, is really a pro at coordination and facilitation. She worked with us to seamlessly to incorporate our requests. Amy made it all work for us. Julie provide expert coverage to deal with our large group.
Because this was a multi-day experience we had numerous staff assisting us at different points. Top notch front line staff are essential to an A+ customer experience. Whether it was Dee or Kennedy or Ee, or whether it was one of the other pros who helped throughout the weekend, we were continually impressed with their passion for customer service and quality delivery.
On top of it all, the food was amazing.
Truly a great destination for that special event or that quiet weekend with your better half.

The grounds are quite nice with the view of the water and the trails in the woods on this property. However, we stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages (Linden #1) and it was very worn, though I suppose it was wiped down clean and sheets were clean, it felt dirty because of the age of the furniture and the carpet, fixtures, woodwork and paint, bathroom - all of it really. It was kind of a cramped layout as well. We did not build a fire because it was likely the entire cottage would then stink. It was too cold for us to use the pool. The included breakfast buffet was pretty good. So overall it was quite disappointing as far as the room goes. So many give great reviews I thought I needed to just say the place is not "perfect". I am not sure if we just got stuck in the one cottage that hasn't been revamped in a very very long time (the others looked very similar on the outside), but it's a risk I would not take again as there are many other places to stay in Door County.

Although the COVID-19 affected the resort, it certainly did not affect their rates for substantially less service. The office was closed at 8pm on Wednesday evening past.
The television was circa 2010 and had CBS for news. No NBC, ABC, or Fox News Channel. The entrance to our second row cottage was tilted due to settling I presume. My 78 year old spouse almost fell as a result of this. $257/night was highway robbery in my opinion.

They say they aim to exceed expectations, and they definitely did that for us. We stayed in a cabin on the adults only side, which was exact as pictured, peaceful and well kept. The view from our room was beautiful, and the expansive windows allowed us to enjoy that view from every vantage point when we were inside. And the view from the patio was like a living postcard. The location was perfect as well, allowing us to quickly reach all the places in Door County we wanted to explore.

Our family has been coming to Door County and staying at Gordon lodge for years! We have nothing but positive things to say about our stay, the staff, the accommodations, and the activities that are available. Our rooms in the Lodge were very clean, including comfortable beds and bedding. Our kids loved riding the bikes through the trails. We spent several hours each day at the pool and really appreciated the upgraded pool towels that are provided. Dinner and drinks at Top Deck was fantastic, all 6 of us loved our meal choices and the service was top notch. We highly recommend Gordon Lodge and will be returning again!

Absolutely. Children are welcome at the resort. The Bayview Cottages, however, are adults-only for those who desire a bit quieter environment.
Hello Tina,
We've completed 5 bathroom remodels in the main hotel. We hope to do more this winter. Feel free to reach out to us this winter and we can provide you with an update.
Best Regards,
Not sure about swimming in the Bay. We were visiting there in early Spring and late Fall when the water's pretty chilly. Whether you are able to swim or not, I would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful spot. Looking forward to going back someday, hopefully in the not too distant future.
The answer to my question is that there was a great coin-operated washer and dryer right by the pool, and they had soap and fabric softener available cheaply. It was wonderful to be able to do a load of wash the week I was there.
Not Sure. You'll have to contact the Lodge.
